  1. As with all great sequels, Broken Bond deals with darker story elements than its predecessor and becomes a more jaw dropping spectacle as a result.
  2. Naruto: The Broken Bond is a really fun game to play, the adventure mode does get a little tedious at points but the fighting and graphics really make up for it. Fans of the show are going to love this game.
  3. Naruto: The Broken Bond may well give the much publicized Ultimate Ninja Storm a run for its money as the best Naruto game this year. Although the latter was touted for its amazing visuals, The Broken Bond is the most complete-feeling Naruto title currently available.
  4. In closing, Naruto: The Broken Bond, isn’t the most accessible game in regards to its story, and those characters contained within; yet at the same time offers gameplay which covers a lot a ground which should keep fans / non-fans well occupied and entertained.
  5. Ubisoft has succeeded in creating the ultimate Naruto-game. The Broken Bond builds upon the foundation of the first game, and retains the open world and strong audiovisual presentation. Story wise the game is both more intense and lengthy then its predecessor, making The Broken Bond the best Naruto-game to date.
  6. If you are a Naruto fan, then you owe it to yourself to check it out. If you are looking for an adventure game with a nice amount of variety, then you might want to at least give it a rental.

Aside from some bad quests, The Broken Bond is a great game. I'm not a huge Naruto fan, but I couldn't help but be drawn in by the story. And the end set of missions -- which can take well over an hour to complete -- are thrilling. A fun online brawler is just more reason to keep playing Broken Bond after you've beaten the main mode.
  8. For fans this is a no-brainer, but even those looking for a fighter or RPG with some interesting twists should give this a try.
  9. Naruto The Broken Bond brings an important and necessary improvement as a sequel. Despite some repetitive missions and side quests this title succeeds by tying together four genres without fail.
  10. It's not quite a perfect game, definitely, but it's the best Naruto game I've been able to play, and I'm glad to see steady improvements being made here.
  11. It’s a solid entry and an excellent sequel to a great game and - despite a few issues - it’s looking like this is a good year for Naruto and fighting game fans.

Not great for newcomers, but the ideal follow up to "Rise of a Ninja's" abrupt finish. [Jan 2009, p.72]
  13. Ubisoft have improved upon the previous 360 title in nearly every way, making Naruto: The Broken Bond the most complete and compelling entry in the series yet. For Naruto fans out there, this is a must have. For the uninitiated, the story may not win you over, but the combat and puzzles are interesting enough to be worth at least a rental.
  14. Playing this game was a pleasant surprise, especially due to the fact I’d never followed the series or really enjoyed fighting games as a whole. The missions may start to get repetitive after a while but the story more than makes up for it and the online modes can keep you occupied long after you’ve finished the game. It’s mainly for fans but give it a go and you may be shocked at how much fun you have.
  15. The Broken Bond is a great follow-up for last year's Rise of a Ninja. Bigger, longer, with more characters and a new team system. It offers everything we always wanted to see in a Naruto game, using RoaN as basis and improving in every possible aspect. A very satisfying experience that we hope will continue this road towards perfection.
  16. It’s not perfect, to the hardcore or others. But it is good enough to give you an experience you won’t regret.
  17. Established missions are still there - loverlorn villagers still need perking up, and there are races a-plenty - but much more on offer besides. And alongside flashier fights, a more helpful HUD and gorgeous new locations, it helps build the ideal sequel for every budding Hokage. Believe it.
  18. Naruto 2: The Broken Bond is in every aspect an improvement of Rise of the Ninja. If you enjoyed the first game than you'll definitely like this one. Because the game is very easy to master and the various game elements offer excellent gameplay the game is ideal for gamers that are new to the series. And even if you do have an natural intolerance against cartoony game characters you will still play the game with a smile on your face.

The Broken Bond provides a similarly potent blend of action, adventure, fighting, and puzzling--all supported by light RPG addictiveness--while also cranking up the nine-tailed-demon-fox fun with some strong additions. [Jan 2009, p.79]
  20. If you're a Naruto fan then Broken Bond should definitely be on your play list.

    A fabulous surprise. [Issue#40, p.103]
  22. This may seem like a dumbing-down, but if memory serves the ninjas in Naruto’s world never had to use seals to perform those feats in the first place. Authenticity wins the day.

Accomplished, beautiful and more than just a kid's game. Recommended. [Jan 2009, p.66]

Naruto: The Broken Bond should please the fans, though the game starts to feel repetitive after a while. [Apr 2009]
  25. The fighting and the story are top notch. It's just the missions themselves that sort of take the fun away from the bulk of the game.
  26. As an entire package, Naruto does a good job of presenting an awesome part of the story, but makes enough fumbles that stunts the potential to really be the best Naruto experience out there.
  27. The Broken Bond isn’t a huge advancement for the Naruto franchise, but it does a fair job of matching battles and missions with the proper plot points.

Despite the repetitive fetch quests, the fine story retelling and accessible fighting system make Naruto: The Broken Bond among the better anime or franchise based games available.
  29. If you’re into the anime series and have coped with some of the more lackluster titles in the franchise, you may want to consider giving this one a shot, and like me, even if you don’t like Naruto, you may want to check it out.
  30. Nevertheless, Naruto: The Broken Bond certainly has plenty for the anime enthusiast. The game flows smoothly, and everything in it feels just like it does in the cartoon. The only problem with this is that the game sometimes sacrifices its gameplay to deliver this very authenticity, and you might find yourself wondering why you shouldn’t just go and watch the anime instead.
  31. The fighting modes deliver some excitement, but the adventure loses its way with too many boring fetch quests and repetitive environmental puzzles.
  32. Ubisoft's second game about Naruto for the Xbox 360 is very similar to the first game, Rise of a Ninja. There are few news to be had here, so if the first one didn't fit your bill this won't fare any better. It's a solid sequel, but the next iteration better offer us new content and ideas.
  33. Given The Broken Bond's quite dazzling presentation it's easy to overlook its main fetch-quest focused flaw, so it's well worth a look. Just be aware that to non-fans some of the storyline will be quite hard to follow.

Aficionados need not hesitate -- The Broken Bond presents the Naruto franchise in a largely engaging manner, with plenty to see and do in the campaign and via Xbox Live. It's a less definite prospect for newcomers, though, as the fan service and familiar scenarios go a long way toward masking the frustrations and limitations found within.

I'm from 2019, and i'm not joking. Playing it on 2010 for the first time i was shocked - finally a normal Naruto game with a)Normal fighting system, with at least TWO buttons on combos (hello Ultimate Ninja Series) b)Open world c)Original soundrtack from anime d)Normal storytelling, without exaggeration in fights cutscenes.
For now, there is no game like that, not even close. Storm series doesn't have normal open world and one (!) button combo fighting. I wish that team, that make Broken Bond can do a Shippuuden game...
