Apr 1, 2012The game fails to marvel the player due to the absence of boss battles, exploration and QTEs, becoming a rather repetitive beat'em'up. Fans will however be pleased in finding inside both the anime series, with exclusive content from Studio Pierrot and a lot of characters to fight with.

Apr 12, 2012Full of fan service, this one is for the Naruto faithful. It's competent and looks great, but if you're just after a good fighter, you can do better. The fighting genre is experiencing somewhat of a second golden age of games right now and Generations isn't quite one of them.

X-ONE Magazine UKMay 3, 2012It's a comprehensive celebration of Naruto in which fans will delight. [Issue#84, p.88]
-
Apr 26, 2012A Naruto game designed mostly for online battles and that's because the single player mode is not as polished or as big as in previous installments of the franchise.
-
Apr 16, 2012Even though Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations feels shallow at times and lack difficulty, it is still a very accessible fighting game that offers plenty of entertainment for Naruto fans.
-
Apr 13, 2012Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations is a game that continues the series' tradition, but makes a slight turn. Instead of a rich story mode with the possibility to visit all the locations, we got a limited game that is more difficult to get into.

Mar 19, 2012Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations improves on the series' fun and flashy fighting mechanics, but drops a few features along the way.
-
Apr 20, 2012Fans of the fighting game aspects of the Naruto franchise would do well to think it over before picking up Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations. The combat is definitely the high point, but there isn't much beyond that.
-
Jun 13, 2012All in all – Naruto Shippuden Ninja Storm Generations is moving in the right direction – giving fans the chance to use all of the favorite characters and making it accessible to as many people as possible. When making parity though you have to be careful that you aren't watering down all the characters too much which is what ended up happening.
-
May 3, 2012It's a good game, just a hollow one.
-
Mar 13, 2012While executing attacks is refreshingly easy, Generations lacks depth: bouts often devolve into who can escape and button-mash to counter first. Likewise, fighting the CPU - especially in Story Mode's later stages - can feel frustrating and unfair. Meanwhile, the online-versus options are bare-bones, with the only frill being a replay-recording feature.
-
May 8, 2012Quantity before quality, with over 70 playable characters. Even though there's a massive amount of fan service, the game still feels as a step backwards compared with its predecessors.

Official Xbox Magazine UKApr 23, 2012Iteration for a new generation. [May 2012, p.95]
-
Apr 10, 2012More of an extension to Storm 2 than a true new episode, Generations combines characters from both eras of the anime, the original and the Shippuden one, while retaining most of what Ninja Storm was in terms of gameplay. This last, quite comprehensive episode may still be one of the best adaptations of the anime, it also shows that CyberConnect2 needs to find new wind to save its momentum.
