    Success in Michael Phelps – Push the Limit really depends on proper pacing like it would in real sports – brilliant! Unfortunately, nothing else in the game is anywhere near as brilliant. Various shortcomings really hamper the overall impression, but for swimming fans, it's worth a look thanks to the well-done pacing feature alone.

    A potentially decent swimming game, but it has some lag related issues and bad design decisions, like the fact that you can't retry races on earlier seasons, which means you can easily get stuck at the start of the third season. [Jan 2012]

    The gameplay is what really matters, I suppose, but although the swimming motions are pretty intuitive, the ramp-up in difficulty and lack of true leveling-up render the game a bit tedious after a while. That, combined with the nagging issues above, make it hard for me to recommend Michael Phelps: Push the Limit even for the biggest of Michael Phelps fans.

    The game features split-screen and online multiplayer, but two people flailing their arms next to each other is a disaster waiting to happen. The real killer, though, is that Phelps isn't a good pick-up-and-play game. It's initially confusing, and ultimately, it's not nearly as fun as it should be.

    As it stands, if you want to get a swimming workout, take my advice and go sign up at a local YMCA instead.

    Not a great game by any means but its much better then I thought it was going to be. The controls work decently and it is fun for a littleNot a great game by any means but its much better then I thought it was going to be. The controls work decently and it is fun for a little while but after a couple hours it will start to get real boring. If you can find it cheap (about 15-20 bucks) and you are a fan of swimming then I recommend picking it up.… Expand
