The idea isn't bad, but the campaign is stupidly long. The levels are extremely repetitive, and the game isn't addicting- it's boring. The game feels endless, and there's no motive to play it. The achievements on it are awful- getting to the highest rank will take hundreds of hours play. As for the exclusive challenge mode, it is literally pressing one button as fast as you can. Luxor 2 doesn't quite reach "Hexic" levels of serious mass appeal, but diligent students of the genre will want to sign up for its invigorating new lessons. [May 2007, p.80]
  2. Best of all, it doesn’t look like a cheap throwaway title that you’ll play for a few minutes and never play again.

Despite its lack of originality and simplicity, Luxor 2 is still great fun and works well as a XBLA game. You'll start off playing "just a few" levels and then get sucked into 20 or more without realizing how fast time has flown by. That's the sign of a fun game.
