The "Lego Star Wars"-games were fun and entertaining with great co-op features. Unfortunately Lego Indiana Jones isn't as great, simply because fighting Germans isn’t as fun as battling Darth Vader, puzzle solving isn’t as fun this time around and the video sequences aren’t as funny. Despite being a lesser game, this is still a great gaming experience.
-
In gameplay terms it represents a commendable improvement on an already solid framework and seems to captivate its young players with the same gently challenging grip o' fun as LEGO Star Wars did. It's just a shame that this evolution seems to have come at the expense of many of the peripheral activities that made the previous LEGO games a more robust and varied experience in the long term.
-
Doesn't quite live up to its Star Wars cousins, mainly due to the fact that Star Wars is simply a more memorable series, but it's still a brilliant adventure and great fun.
-
This is a fun and thoroughly enjoyable family-friendly game that will surely follow the same successful path its cousin titles from a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away have already walked down.
-
The magic just isn’t here. Repeating the success of Star Wars with a radically different license requires more than Star Wars as a foundation. It really never finds Indiana Jones’ pulse, and ends up being somewhat of a mess, albeit a moderately fun one.
-
This is great, but expect repetitive block smashing and item collecting that, in this third LEGO game, has overstayed its welcome.
-
While not a bad game, our overriding feeling while playing Lego Indiana Jones was that we really wanted to play through Lego Star Wars again. The game works, for all its glitches, and will undoubtedly provide a good few hours of co-op fun with a like-minded second player. Nevertheless, the painful fact is that Lego fatigue has set in far sooner than we had expected it to.

X-ONE Magazine UKThere’s so much to like here and so much to hate that it’s just a matter of personal preference. We like it, we don’t love it, but we also know there’s plenty of folk out there who definitely will. [Issue#33]
-
Although quite a fun game, LEGO Indy shrinks in stature when compared the previous LSW games.
-
netjakDespite the cutesy idea, there is a pretty solid game buried inside of Lego Indiana Jones.
-
If you enjoyed the Lego Star Wars games and didn’t feel that they were getting tired by the end of the second game, then you’ll love this release.
-
Take away the LEGOs, and there's nothing here you won't find in other movie tie-in games. But few movie tie-ins are this much fun, or show this much love for the source material.
-
Edge MagazineThe game suffers from a slow start, the first six chapters indistinct and repetitive. [July 2008, p.92]
-
games(TM)As great as it is to watch, it's simply nowhere near as much fun to play, and no amount of whips, snakes and Holy Grails can ever change that. [July 2008, p.116]
-
Perhaps the worst thing you can say about Lego Indy is that it is not as instantly likeable as the Lego Star Wars games, and that it’s more of a relationship you’ll have to work at instead of being the love at first sight Travellers Tales' previous efforts were.
-
After Lego Batman comes out, though, I hope Traveller’s Tales takes a good look at where its Lego games are going and makes the tweaks and additions necessary to keep the franchise relevant.
-
There isn't anything fundamentally wrong with this game. The controls are responsive, the graphics are faithful to the original franchises and it strives to attain the same kind of humor that was an Indiana Jones trademark. But that doesn't mean that the game isn't filled with repetition and uninteresting puzzles. Younger players and fans of the movies will likely enjoy this game, but the appeal stops there.
