At the finale of No Mercy, our four Survivors fought their way to the rooftop of Mercy Hospital, where they were flown away to safety in a helicopter. Crash Course continues the story moments later, taking our heroes from a fiery helicopter crash in the outskirts of Riverside to the escape vehicle that will lead them to the events in Death Toll. While containing both Survival maps and a Co-operative Campaign, one of the primary goal of Crash Course is Versus mode. Crash delivers a complete, streamlined Versus mode experience in just 30 minutes. A recharge timer for infected teammates has also been added, so you can better coordinate your attacks. Item spawn behavior has changed for more balanced gameplay. [Valve] Expand

  1. It’s not a huge amount, and is ultimately worth it (it is more L4D, after all) but dwelling upon the injustice of it all can’t help but leave a bitter taste.
  2. To get the most from this DLC you need to be a heavy online user, otherwise it's not worth your hard earned cash.
  3. It's a decent update featuring more the same.

Crash Course doesn't change the basic nature of Left 4 Dead, but like most good content packs delivers a jolt of energy into an existing gameplay formula. It's something any fan of the original is sure to appreciate, and caters to people who don't have the time to invest in a full Versus playthrough on one of the original campaigns.
  5. In Crash Course's case, it's more of a matter of whether or not you are interested in more Left 4 Dead so close to its sequel's release. As one of the few pieces (maybe the last) of new content for the original Left 4 Dead, Crash Course offers a recently deceased but still crawling warm farewell.
  6. More Zombies and action for Left 4 Dead, but it’s hardly recommendable in Xbox 360 because of its high cost.
  7. Crash Course certainly isn't a bad piece of content, it's just not a slam dunk if you have to pay for it.

It has everything that a L4D fan has been begging for in a new map with new twists. The campaign itself lasts about 30 minutes for me on the first play through (on Advanced) so it seemed kind of short, but the two maps are very long and very open (it is possible to get lost, just like replaying the game all over again). The achievements for the DLC are probably a 5/10 in difficulty, all related to the new DLC, and maybe 2 or 3 that have to be completed with more then 2 people, but they are all possible. Over all, I personally love the new DLC, the only reason it didn't get a perfect 10 was because of the length (as once you get used to the map, you can blow through a campaign on Easy in under 15 minutes). But either way, it will keep you busy until L4D2 comes out. Check it out. Expand
