  1. KrissX has a nice concept behind it, and a gentle presentation style that can be really soothing. But I fear serious word freaks will find it a little too simplistic.
  2. With KrissX being offered for 800 gaming points, the 'price point' does seem a bit high on the surface, but those who give it a chance will be surprised by the addictive nature.
  3. A perfect substitute to all those newspaper puzzles you do on the way to work. Sadly a little too easy for the hardcore puzzle gamers.
  4. It turns out that, as further progress is made through the levels, KrissX becomes a challenging, engaging game, that's actually quite delightful.
  5. KrissX will be a worthy addition to anybody who enjoys a laid-back puzzler that doesn't provide an over-stimulating challenge.
  6. With its 150 puzzles and three different gameplay variants, KrissX should give you a few hours of quality enjoyment, even though its pricing could have been smaller. It may not be a breakthrough in the puzzle genre but it’s definitely an amusing, simple but still challenging game to experience.

Word puzzle enthusiasts may be drawn in by the concept of KrissX, and PopCap fans may be fooled by the similar presentation style, but the lack of challenge and depth makes the game lackluster.

If you enjoy word puzzles there are certainly cheaper alternatives, and without a solid online community or any multi-player to speak of, it falls flat.
  9. There is a lot of presentation but not much substance and the whole game comes off as something that would be better played on my iPhone than my Xbox. This leisurely puzzle games just don’t work that well on the console, especially when there is no multiplayer support or reason to play past the first pass.

We've spent more entertaining evenings rearranging our fridge magnets. [May 2010, p.83]

To anyone with the ability to read and even a small English vocabulary, this game is going to become boring in a few minutes. The lack of multiplayer hurts, too, but not as much as the $10 price point.

The trouble is, said hints can appear superimposed over the play area, reducing play to a highly distracting farce. [Issue#57, p.107]
