Jan 4, 2012Brilliantly charming and consistently entertaining, it's a true XBLA classic.
-
Dec 14, 2011This utterly delightful game is one everyone owes it to themselves to play.
-
Dec 14, 2011If you haven't had the pleasure of playing Joe the first time around, then this game is a no brainer as a purchase. If you have already played it, I still say buy it, as the Lab mode is basically another version of the game's original career mode, but twice as hard.
-
Jan 7, 2012It isn't often a developer puts in this much love when porting over an existing title from another service. But Hello Games did it, and the final result is the best version of Joe Danger to date.
-
Dec 14, 2011The game mirrors its hero: classic and old fashioned, but still boasting the skills to amaze us. Joe Danger constantly surprises and delights. The clever level design encourages return visits to look for all the hidden goodies, much like a Mario platformer does. It's a joy ride.

X-ONE Magazine UKFeb 1, 2012It's a brighter, more entertaining version of Trials HD, and a game that you simply need to download. [Issue #81, p.102]
-
Jan 25, 2012A great arcade game with the perfectly right fun to challenge ratio. If you belong to the fans of Trials HD or to the little old Excitebike and you still don't have your own Joe Danger copy, then there's something wrong with you.
-
Jan 23, 2012A shining example of longevity, and if I didn't have to sit here and write these words, I would be back in front of the TV, trying to get that next star or reach the top of the leaderboards. This is a gem of a game, and luckily one that Xbox 360 owners can now enjoy as well.
-
Jan 11, 2012Simply put, Joe Danger: Special Edition is a winner.
-
Jan 9, 2012Joe Danger is even more fun than ever in the Xbox 360 version of this PSN classic. This should not be missed by anyone who likes good games.
-
Jan 3, 2012Joe Danger is one of the most fun games available on the Xbox Live Arcade.
-
Jan 2, 2012This game is motivating like The Sims, but packed with action – and the Special Edition with laboratory levels is even worth buying for gamers who have the original game: 30 levels and a level editor. Well done, Hello Games!
-
Dec 21, 2011Joe Danger SE has some minor flaws, but the vast majority of the experience is both fun and very well-crafted. It's a must-buy for 360-only owners who love the Trials and/or Excitebike series and missed out before due to its PS3 exclusivity. Even for PS3 owners, the lab stages and greatly improved controls due to the 360's controller are worth rebuying it for.
-
Dec 19, 2011Yes, it's the same gorgeous game who hit PSN time ago. This version includes new nasty levels on Lab mode. You can't go wrong with Joe Danger.
-
Dec 16, 2011Hello Games did it again! Joe Danger SE is a wonderful Live game, with addictive gameplay, tons of unlockables and a valuable challenge level. The diabolical Laboratory, the most interesting add-on for the Xbox 360 version, doubles the single player longevity, offering a significant replay value. For 1200 MP, you cannot miss it.
-
Dec 16, 2011A charming triumph, an absolute joy to play, and a fresh modern title that effortlessly manages to play the same notes as the best video games of the 90s.
-
Dec 16, 2011It's difficult to find a game more crazy and funny than Joe Danger Special Edition, a very good arcade game who once again proves that the simple concepts can be the base for the better games. One of the best games of the year for the Xbox Live.
-
Dec 15, 2011Joe Danger Special Edition is a complete triumph, the wait has been more than worth it and it is one of the best games to come out on XBLA in 2011. The only reason not to own this game, is if you hate fun.
-
Dec 15, 2011Hello Games! came out of nowhere and dazzled us with the disarmingly clever racing-platform-puzzler Joe Danger a while back, and now they're back on a different platform and showing their more sadistic and cruel side with the introduction of the 'Laboratory' – a new set of fiendishly difficult levels for Joe to traverse. This is a fine gem, a proper love letter to the Excite Bikes of yesteryear.
-
Dec 23, 2011It's crazy and funny. If you haven't had the pleasure of playing Joe the first time on PSN, this version is a must buy.
-
Jan 9, 2012The different challenges range from easy to exhaustingly difficult, and the gameplay is so addicting that you'll want to complete every one. The level design and multiplayer components are subpar, but Joe Danger: SE makes up for it with a stellar career mode that will keep you playing all night "for just one more star."
-
Jan 4, 2012Joe Danger: Special Edition is a must buy for classic and arcade gaming fans.
-
Dec 27, 2011As far as the 360-specific additions are concerned, there are a few extra environments and characters for you to get your teeth into, but the core of Joe Danger is resolutely the same as its PS3 cousin. And for once, that's a fantastic thing. If you enjoyed Trials, and if you like Sonic or even Tony Hawk, you owe it to yourself to give this a try.
-
Dec 20, 2011Although we expected more new features in this Xbox version, the crazy moto racer has conquered us again. A simple game with great gameplay that will make the player have fun for hours.
-
Dec 16, 2011Fun and addictive. Unfortunately who've played it on PS3 will not have a real reason to buy it a second time.
-
Dec 15, 2011There will be times where you will turn the air blue and throw your dummy from the pram. However, there is nothing more rewarding than persevering and finally nailing a level (one level took me over 250 attempts). Joe Danger: Special Edition rides that fine line between frustration and fun perfectly.
-
Dec 14, 2011Joe Danger: Special Edition offers enough new content for a fan of the original to enjoy, but it's a must-download for Xbox owners that never had a chance to play it.
-
Dec 14, 2011As much as we like both of the European-developed $15 stunt racers, Joe Danger: Special Edition managed to interest us just a bit more. Both games are fine-tuned to near-perfection, but Joe Danger has slightly more going on under its hood thanks to new gameplay additions and more interesting objectives. It's also got a nicer paintjob and sound system (read: better visuals and audio), so we have to give the duke to Danger this time around.
-
Dec 21, 2011This is one of the best games in its genre, recommended to all lovers of arcade titles. Its addicting, deep and well crafted, yet it doesn't offer much more than the PS3 version.
-
Dec 20, 2011Joe Danger Special Edition is a real blast to play and gives me some hope for the nostalgic gamer in all of us: a solid game that reminds me of some great games of yore, with a few updated ideas, sharp controls, and a visual appeal that has me giggling, especially when I crash as a chimp wearing a cape and goggles that bounce up and down on a large bumper like a rag doll.
-
Games Master UKFeb 15, 2012A cheerful cartoon bike platformer. [March 2012, p.93]
-
Jan 17, 2012Even after a year Joe Danger is still well worth your time. (...) Hello Games gave an excellent debut that doesn't have to dread comparisons to the style, look and feel of classic Nintendo titles.
-
Jan 12, 2012Joe Danger: Special Edition is the definitive version of the game and one that the plucky stuntman can be proud of.
-
Jan 5, 2012This game is like a modern version of the classic NES game Exite Bike. The controls works perfectly, but where are the online modes? Anyway, Joe Danger Special Edition is one of the best downloadable games this year.
-
Jan 4, 2012Joe Danger offers a fun ride through well designed and beautiful levels. It won't be a quick ride however, as the game has a high replay value. Still, you might get bored with doing the same stunts over and over again.
-
Jan 3, 2012A unique blending of genres and interesting new modes added to the XBLA version make this a solid buy, even if the luster wears off quickly.
-
Jan 3, 2012Thankfully, porting the game to Xbox Live Arcade has lost none of its magic. Offering a more accessible and (dare we say it) fun alternative to Trials HD, the game still musters an addictive and testing challenge for the more hardcore players.
-
Dec 19, 2011A cheerier, more versatile alternative to Trials HD, whose Special Edition manages to make trial-and-error and constant repetition even more fun.
