    This game is more of a flight simulator with combat missions than a traditional game. The planes themselves are well done and the difference between each one makes it interesting to advance in order to unlock the next one. Good thing you can change difficulty in every level!     It can be exciting in bursts, but when you look back at it, Jane's Advanced Strike Fighters is barely fit to be sold in any retailers bargain bin.

    Ace Combat or HAWX 2 do this better, but if you love your planes that much, you could do a lot worse. [Issue#83, p.89]

    JASF is a fine concept that could have been a winner, however it is let down by some questionable design choices and a lack of excitement that flying a jet fighters should give. It isn't a game that should be bypassed completely, but one left for rental or the bargain bins.
