I borrowed and beat Halo 2, and even that has great visuals, even today, but the people do look bad. Halo 3 was way better. Visuals pro. And the theme music! Un-believable. Blown away by the theme music. I love it so much, I sing it a school. The majority of the population seems to like this awful joke of a game. Then again the majority of the population consists of very bad drivers. There is nothing good about bad driving or this game but idiots of the world seem to find both to be a favorite pastime.

The most over-hyped, overrated, linear, un-original, kak I have ever had the misfortune of playing. What amsuses me to no end, is the disparity in the opinion of the critics and most everybody else.

Halo 3 is one of the most engaging and ingenious games I've ever played. Right off the bat I was blown away by the colorful landscape and amazing graphics. The achievements for finding skulls and replaying the campaign on harder difficulties had me playing it forever. Even when all of that was done, the online experience is nothing short of amazing. Best Halo Game Yet!

i can find nothing unique about this generic FPS. seriously, its just another sci-fi shooter with sub-par graphics and boring gameplay. if this was another standalone game, it would get horrible reviews, but just because of all of the halo fanboys, it gets good reviews.

As much as I loved the first two Halo games, I just can't say that about the third one in the series. Now, I'm not saying this is a BAD game, it's just not the best it could've been. Halo 3's graphics where fantastic for its time and are still pretty impressive to this day. There's a great campaign that's a bit short, but it's still fun. If you have friends that you can play the campaign with, it usually is more fun. Friends are the core of this game, if you don't have friends with Halo, don't get Halo, it is that simple. The game is also a ton of fun to play online...with friends. The community is made of bratty 12-year-olds that think they're tough $h1t. If you have friends to play with, I'd recommend keeping them. The real problem with this game is that it doesn't have the same feeling as the original Halo and instead feels more like Resistance rather than its awesome, awesome original game. Too bad, too, because that would've made it awesome. Expand

Best Halo game, in my opinion. Had everything of the other two games, and then some. For one thing, the multiplayer is classic. You can't surpass it. Its a pure FPS through and through. Gameplay is immensely improved, even if you just account for the fact that the horrible 'white and black' anomalies are off the Xbox controller. The gameplay is simple, yet complete. Dynamic, but only confusing for toddlers. Its got several modes of play, massive replay value. For coop, aswell as multiplayer. There's hundreds upon hundreds of hours of gameplay. Skill plays a huge part in this game, not simply experience with the gameplay mechanics. If you're an FPS player, this is pickup and play. Unlike games such as Gears of War, its not necessary to make a vow of solitude to learn to play. Not much more to be said. This game is a 'hall of famer' for sure. Expand

I'm giving it a 7 because the Multiplayer's good. Campaign was absolute crap compared to the other two games; I mean, come on. ODST was better. Sure, the AI is good (unlike some games, it's actually dynamic and can react according to different situations, try watching it sometime), but the story lets it down and makes the campaign feel terrible. Ending was alright, but I'm giving it a 7 because the Multiplayer's good. Campaign was absolute crap compared to the other two games; I mean, come on. ODST was better. Sure, the AI is good (unlike some games, it's actually dynamic and can react according to different situations, try watching it sometime), but the story lets it down and makes the campaign feel terrible. Ending was alright, but still recognisable as a rehash of Halo 1 that was less enjoyable to do. Multiplayer's solid, it works well, and it's not unbalanced if you play normal MM. That's the reason I enjoy it - I can stop playing for 4 months, go back to it and there'll still be people at my level. it's not like CoD where if you buy the game two weeks late everyone's prestiged and you do nothing but die, which in itself makes it much more fun. What else... Graphics were good for its time, especially on a custom engine, but could do with some AA and decent reflections. Story sucked but made sense in that they had a limited timeframe to do it and cut quite a lot of stuff...yeah. Overall a decent game with strong MM but a very lacking campaign. Best part is probably the fact that there's always someone in MM at your level, so it doesn't matter whether you picked up the game on day one like me or the 2 year anniversary - there's still 500,000 people evenly matched for you to play. That alone is one of the reasons it's so popular and why I like it. Expand

Nothing special about this game at all. Its a cookie cuter FPS. The AI is lame with predicable actions. The story just was a rehash of the first one just about. Not worth paying for or even playing matter of fact. Your money is better off spent on a ps3 and getting Killzone 2.

Halo 3 sits in the middle. If you want good sniping and realistic fire fights play any call of duty. if you want quick fast paced action. Buy a cheap pc and get quake 3 or ut 2004. Now that is just the multiplayer. the single player pityful compared to the first halo and not much better than halo 2. dont get me wrong i will still play it if im bored but that is all.

Being a Halo vet, im a lil disappointed in the Campaign side of the game, ending just an ending, nothing special or surpising about it. The multiplayer side of the game is good. There is so much missing from this game, like equipment use, less use of the many weapons in other Halo's, but im still a big fan of Halo, hopfully they will get the next one right.

No company should ever be praised like Bungie is. They release what should have been an expansion pack to a primarily multiplayer game, charge 60 bucks for it, and it gets a 94 meta?
4 for effort. Halo:CE did it best, single and multiplayer for its new age shooter genre.

One of my favorite games ever. It will never get old. The campaign is so-so and some things could be a little better. However, this is meant mostly as a multiplayer game and this is where it excels above all. The replay value is through the roof, and for those who love games that require skill to play and master, Halo 3 online play is just that. Amazing.

  1. It's the addition of the Forge level editor and the saved films that give the game an even longer set of legs, legs that will probably keep you running at full speed until Bungie figures out where, exactly, to go from here.
  2. Halo 3 is the best Xbox 360 game to date. The single-player campaign and storyline are both very strong, but it's Forge and the Saved Films features that will likely go down in history as Bungie's crowning achievements. They've basically taken everything great about the series and improved upon it in every way, then added some amazing new features that we'll be using for years to come.
