This game was a disappointment on so many levels. Graphics aren't spectacular, story is horrible and the biggest, most powerful blunder of all; the online multiplayer is too repetitive, ex. shotty snipers. And to top it off, the game doesn't even run in full HD, only 640p! Such an utter waste.

Just goes to show that most people are just mindless drones who just follow the marketing hype. Gameplay, graphics, story, MP are OK. Fun, but nothing special. Anybody who's played HL, GOW, or Bioshock will tell you that they all offer a more higher quality and complete experience than Halo 3; anyone who says otherwise probably does not have the mental capacity to appreciate it (i.e. Just goes to show that most people are just mindless drones who just follow the marketing hype. Don't get me wrong tho, I will still have a blast playing it with my friends, but then again, we can have a blast kicking each other in the balls too. Halo was just there at the right time and brought the wonderful world of MP gaming to the naive masses (something that HL did BETTER and YEARS before halo even existed). If you are a more seasoned gamer like me, there are much better games out there that will stretch your imagination more and give more bang for your buck, but if you're not, then by all means buy halo because I know you will have a blast playing it since you don't know no any better =P (no offense of course). I'd give a 6 for the gameplay, but I rated 1 simply because of the massive marketing hype that made me realize how much of the world are just a bunch of ignorant fanboys who would set your house on fire if you dare utter one negative word about their beloved MASTER Chief. If you are not a stupid fanboy (you will know who you are) and is more of a light, casual gamer, then by all means get halo 3, because you'll will have a fantastic time diving into this mysterious unknown world of gaming. I just don't think Halo 3 deserves to be as big as it is. Expand

All of you who give it a 10 are blind to the fact that Halo sucks and Bungie has been living off the hype of the original game (which only got hype because it was the first decent shooter on the original Xbox). They use this permanent fanboy fervor to allow them to make a game that has been the same since it's conception adding in only minor changes that have all been done in another game in some form or another to keep the critics at bay. I know it's a bit harsh to rate this game a 0, but to be honest, i got nothing out of it, it's just the same old stuff re-done with new "flashy" graphics... Some say the multiplayer is the saviour of this game, personally i do find it fun, but it gets really boring very quickly. The new Spikers are a healthy addition, as well as the old Battle Rifle. The campaign is weak, as I was expecting something epic in proportions. After all, did anyone see the previews? I had goosebumps. Then I played the game. And the sound file is extremely sensitive. It skips quite often, and one last thing- maps suck. Apart from the mediocre 5 hour campaign and Forge, this thing is Halo 2 with a coat of new paint. Hey, the sound of my gun is muffled even by the sound of my voice!... And no, it's not my setup, other games sound just fine. The sound mixing is just totally off in this game. Halo is and always has been an overrated game. What made Halo so popular is that it was the first PC FPS to be successfully done on a console. PC gamers had seen it done before and better, but to console gamers, it was a whole new thing. Let me put it this way. If it had been made for PC as originally intended, it would have been written off as an acceptable attempt at being Quake. Halo is and always has been an overrated game. Let me put it this way. If it had been made for PC as originally intended, it would have been written off as an acceptable attempt at being Quake. However, because it did nothing new in a new territory, it became an adored icon of mediocrity. So, here we are, two agonizingly bland sequels later. Now, as I have said, Halo is average, so you'd assume I'd give it a 5/10. Yeah, that's what I'd give the first one. But it goes repeating itself in a very stuck up manner, making me resent it more and more every sequel. Halo 3 did nothing new for the 3rd time. It has got to stop doing this. The story is still terrible, the bright design and squeaky midgets completely undermine the story's alleged "war", and Master Chief still moves patience-testingly slowly. There are two things that keep this game above a zero, though, and these are them. 1. Some serious genius thinking went into hyping the game up, though that was really the only genius thinking that can be associated with Halo. 2. The multiplayer did prove itself amusing when we were at our friend's house playing it on his 52 inch HDTV (while his copy of Left 4 Dead was too broken to provide us with our usual entertainment). 1. It's the addition of the Forge level editor and the saved films that give the game an even longer set of legs, legs that will probably keep you running at full speed until Bungie figures out where, exactly, to go from here.
  2. Halo 3 is the best Xbox 360 game to date. The single-player campaign and storyline are both very strong, but it's Forge and the Saved Films features that will likely go down in history as Bungie's crowning achievements. They've basically taken everything great about the series and improved upon it in every way, then added some amazing new features that we'll be using for years to come.
