While the difficulty level may have increased, so have the tools at the players' disposal as the game features an improved map editor along with the hottest new gear and weapons. When things are at their bleakest, players can even use the all-new cheat meter that lets them avoid elimination by successfully wiping away paint splatter before they're caught. Serious "ballers" can even become general manager of their own 10-player team composed of more than 100 professional and amateur paintball players. Gamers can trade players, issue commands, and use their earnings from the field to build each player's individual stats, so the overall team is that much more competitive.     For the big paintball fan, the game is a good alternative to being out there on the field. For everyone else, the game is a pretty decent rental.

    Greg Hastings Paintball 2 is a game for true paintball aficionados. If you're new to the sport, this is not the place to start.

    Paintball 2 is nothing more than a scam. It claims to give consumers a way to live out their paintball fantasies off the field, and that promise is an outright lie. Not only is the design lacking in its representation of the sport, but the entire product can barely stand on its own two feet.

The graphics are unacceptable, the music is annoyingly generic, AI is beyond horrible and the map design is lazy and sad.
