Mar 1, 2013Ken's Rage 2 doesn't diverge from the first game's structure, enriching it with many more playable characters and the new Legend story mode. If you are Hokuto No Ken fans and appreciated the first game, you will love Koei Tecmo's new title.

Feb 11, 2013If you’re not a fan of those types of games, this won’t be the one to draw you in, unless you have some obscene love for source material. But as a DW fan, like me, you’ll get hours of enjoyment out of the face punching, body exploding ridiculousness that Ken’s Rage 2 delivers.
-
Mar 1, 2013It’s still nice to see Tecmo Koei making enhancements, even if the fundamental formula is a bit flat these days.
-
Feb 19, 2013Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 is a mediocre game, recommended only to the faithful of the comic.
-
Feb 6, 2013With its amount of content and covering the entire original story, Ken's Rage 2 is a sort of encyclopedia of Hokuto no Ken, making it a great choice for the hardcore fan of the series, but its flaws are just too evident for all other players.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKMar 30, 2013The story is as epic as it ever was, but the gameplay is uninspired. [May 2013, p.86]
-
Feb 18, 2013Ken’s Rage 2 isn’t the ultimate Fist of the North Star game, but it’s a pretty decent step up from the first with way more characters to play as and a tighter focus on trying to make a good adaptation rather than trying to make it a re-skinned Dynasty Warriors.
-
Feb 11, 2013With a sleep-inducing game rhythm and discouraging visuals, Ken’s Rage 2 could have been dubbed years ago as a simple "data disk". But if you’re just looking for a silly brawler, with a rich cast of characters and literally thousands upon thousands of useless enemies, well Ken’s Rage 2 is your game.
-
Feb 11, 2013Koei is Koei is Koei. Kenshiro’s second fight for vengeance is rich with content, but he just can’t step out of the poor base mechanics that make all that content so repetitive.
-
Feb 6, 2013Even being quite repetitive, if you're a fan of the manga and the genre, then you'll probably find here what you're looking for. If you're not, you should try it before.
-
Feb 15, 2013If Tecmo KOEI had poured as much new content into the game as they removed, it would have been a worthy, albeit campy, sequel. Dumb fun is fine, but Ken’s Rage 2 is a ripoff.
-
Mar 13, 2013Ken’s Rage 2 is a passable, sporadically enjoyable game that’s undermined by drab visuals and a campaign with a padded second-half.
-
Feb 27, 2013Despite graphical improvements, streamlined fighting and a broader narrative, it's the same album on repeat, played on a different stereo.
-
Feb 13, 2013Tecmo Koei sometimes doesn't realize when it stumbles upon good ideas, and Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 abandons several gameplay elements of the original title that it didn't need to. The sequel will still satisfy fans that don't mind the Dynasty Warriors design while nostalgically revisiting the animation, but the game's vital points could have been much stronger.
-
Feb 13, 2013Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 is, exactly as the first one was, a bad Dynasty Warriors-like, only saved by its background. Fortunately, this kind of game is disappearing. Obsolete graphics and game mechanics will make you feel very tired after only few hours playing. You'll get it only if you're a very tolerant fan for its high fidelity to the manga.
-
Feb 6, 2013While certainly useful as an Hokuto No Ken Compendium, Ken's Rage 2 is a repetitive, boring, and technically out-of-date game that demonstrates Koei's inability to evolve the basic musou formula. The gigantic campaign can't really be considered a good point when the gameplay that supports it is this bad.
-
Official Xbox Magazine UKMar 23, 2013A monotonous one-note brawler. [Apr 2013, p.87]
-
Feb 7, 2013There's no escaping the issue of this being a shameful followup to a genuinely great brawler. I like Koei, but I'm the first to admit it can cut corners wherever it feels able to get away with doing so -- and even for that particular studio, this is a notably substandard effort. Uglier, more boring, as stale as week-old French bread, Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 is best ignored by fans of both Dynasty Warriors and Hokotu no Ken alike.
