If you're looking for the soccer equivalent to NFL or NBA Street, this isn't it. If you want an accessible alternative to the "big brother" FIFA, check this out.

This series hasn't diverged wildly from its roots, but at least it's finally fashioned itself into the creative, trick-filled game it was always supposed to be, but never really achieved.

FIFA Street is a solid street soccer experience that feels very familiar to FIFA 12 and yet still feels like its own game. The game has an incredible first impression but I didn't feel like the game had the staying power that would make me want to come back to it weeks or months down the road. There is no denying I had a lot of fun with FIFA Street sadly the fun curve starts dwindling faster than the developers were hoping for.

Letting players quit online matches without any repercussions is an unforgivable and incomprehensible decision by EA Sports and completely kills the multiplayer mode. Apart from that it's a fun game. [May 2012, p.56]

FIFA Street serves as a terrific appetizer and dessert when served with a standard FIFA 12 meal, with its bite-sized chunks and freewheeling vibe juxtaposed nicely against its simulation cousin's oh-so-serious mentality.

Given that FIFA 12 is crammed with modes and teams, FIFA Street feels lightweight, with only a handful of licensed club leagues on offer and a main menu bereft of choice. Still, if you're getting bored of FIFA and like your football a little more vibrant, this is a decent if not essential choice.

It's as gritty as a corporate luncheon, but this is a worthwhile, if lightweight, alternative to FIFA 12 - even if it still doesn't fulfil the potential of the concept.

This is a game for people who feel "regular" soccer is too slow and methodical. It's like watching those old And One basketball tapes or going to a Globetrotters game. It's technically soccer but it's faster, looser, not terribly realistic and ideal to play against a buddy when there's 30 minutes to kill and you want to get in a handful of matches and talk a little smack in the process.

As it stands, there isn't enough here to warrant a purchase unless you're really hankering for some video game soccer.

Fun in short bursts, but ultimately lacking in polish, balance and a clear idea of what it even is in the first place. [Issue#83, p.80]

Too many factors feel randomized and the animations looks great but takes too long to finish up. Still, an easy-going game that might be the starting point of a nice franchise comeback.

Has lots of tricks, but they are tricks that soon get old.

Spinning around an opponent is fun enough, but the lack of of variety in game modes leaves you hanging after a few trips to the court. The latest FIFA Street could be the foundation of a great game down the line; it just isn't one now.

And while on the outset it might look ok, the insides of the game are unfortunately lacking quite a bit....The games bulk of action is the World Tour mode, here you take on the AI in a range of gametypes as you build your way up from Regional to World Level. You begin by playing downloaded teams from your region and end by taking on the worlds best. Later in the mode you also get to recruit some of the real life players you play against.....The offline portion of the game is very enjoyable if you like the AI, but many people won't, on the hard setting it seems to vary too much with some games you are unable to even touch the ball and some you can easily walk through. But luckily for the tournaments sections, you can choose to play online...... Now speaking about online, the part of a normal FIFA game that a majority are only interested in. Some will like the online portion but as i have seen so far, many are very very dissapointed. When you step online you have the option of Street Seasons (H2H Seasons from FIFA12), games against friends, or Online Team Play. But no matter where you go, you will NOT be able to use any of the many real life club teams, which begs the question, why is there so much choice in teams, it seems a huge waste. You will also be shocked to see the lack of Last Man Standing, or Panna, or any custom settings online, this leads to some games completely lacking skills as there is no incentive to perform them, again, a big waste........The game has great customisation, its enjoyable levelling your team up and working through world tour, but i fear the game will become boring fast and the lack of MP options doesn't help........ ++Levelling, Customisation, Core Gameplay, Taking your Team Online....- - Lack of MP Options, Waste of Potential, Tedious AI, Often Problematic Impact Engine/Wall Gameplay.
