CD-ActionJul 2, 2013A bundle containing refreshed and expanded versions of Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara. It’s hard to find better representatives of the beat’em up genre. [CD-Action 08/2013, p.83]
-
Jun 26, 2013A great package. The replay value is extremely high thanks to a diverse cast of characters, unlockable content, and online multiplayer. Visually the game is impressive, with various levels to explore and enemies to fight.
-
Jun 18, 2013We would have loved an actual remake or having more extras, but the quality of these classics is undeniable. A great choice to relive the arcade experience at home.
-
Jun 27, 2013Chronicles of Mystara’s long-awaited English-language home debut has been handled with great care, bringing us an experience that’s virtually identical to the arcades and successfully tugging at nostalgic heartstrings.
-
Jun 20, 2013Iron Galaxy, once again, dishes up a really interesting HD remake of one of the lovely Capcom beat'em up classic franchises.

Official Xbox Magazine UKAug 19, 2013The best D&D experience on console. [Sept 2013, p.91]
-
Aug 7, 2013Beat-'em-up fans should pick up Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara based on obscurity alone.
-
Jul 15, 2013Chronicles of Mystara will appeal to D&D enthusiasts, beat-‘em-up fans, and anyone feeling misty-eyed about the disappearance of arcades from our towns.
-
Jul 9, 2013As a retro revival, Chronicles of Mystara does a commendable job of raising a fondly remembered arcade game from its grave.
-
Jul 8, 2013All in all, you get exactly what you can expect from Chronicles of Mystara: An excellent, old-school brawler that won’t necessarily please younger gamers, but that will almost certainly delight older, nostalgic fans.
-
Jul 6, 2013Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara reiterates the immortal charm of the original titles, presenting a collection that will certainly be appreciated by those who want to relive nostalgic or simply the pinnacle of fighting arcade of the nineties.
-
Jul 2, 2013You’re buying the Chronicles pack for Shadows Over Mystara, with Tower of Doom as a sort of optional curiosity. It’s a fun way to pass a couple of hours and the online play is generally solid (at least, it is on XBLA; I’ve heard nothing but bad things about the Steam version), so this would be a great pick for those of you who’re looking for a four-player party game.
-
Jun 30, 2013A bundle of two cool beat 'm ups that are still worth playing. Although the second part is the classic that you can keep playing over and over again, the first is more of a fun addition to the package. The online and offline co-op work perfectly, and the new vault point system with which you can buy game-additions is a nice bonus. If you want to play one of the best beat 'm ups ever, you should play Chronicles of Mystara.
-
Jun 26, 2013Chronicles of Mystara is at its best with co-operative play, as you'd expect from any side-scrolling beat 'em up. It may not have aged as fine as wine, but nevertheless, it's still enjoyable.
-
Jun 20, 2013At the end of the day, Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara packs together two splendid side-scrolling brawlers that have withstood the test of time.
-
Jun 18, 2013A brilliant remake of two classic, underloved arcade brawlers.
-
Jun 24, 2013Nonetheless, flashes of brilliance are in evidence throughout these Dungeons & Dragons adventures, and both games were far enough ahead of their time to hold up to scrutiny. Four friends could have a great time blasting through both games in an extended evening get-together.
-
Jul 31, 2013Capcom's work doesn't add much important to the original games, and probably it's a good thing: if you're nostalgic, love retro gaming or are simply curious about video games' past, this will be an enjoyable experience.
-
Jun 24, 2013This collection is a little gem capable of telling a piece of forgotten history of our beloved Videogame and give, even in the comfort of your living room, the original experience of Capcom's original title.
-
Jun 21, 2013Two of Capcom's best arcade beat-'em-ups get HD ports worthy of their heritage, providing a good, if easy, co-op experience.
-
Jun 19, 2013Chronicles of Mystara isn’t going to set the world on fire, but it nonetheless offers quality multiplayer fun with plenty of razzle-dazzle behind its vintage veneer, making it a worthy addition to any retro fan’s game library.
-
Jul 2, 2013The pinnacle of arcade scrolling beat ‘em-ups and still amongst the best the genre can offer today, despite some change-chomping difficulty spikes.
-
Jun 28, 2013Chronicles has loads of content, faithfully translates the arcade games to home console, and does it all with stylish, deep gameplay. I just wish those bosses didn't feel so soul-crushingly cheap today.
-
Aug 25, 2013The Dungeons & Dragons titles were some of the most evolved side-scrolling fighters of their day, with design and gameplay concepts that made them stand out from their contemporaries. However, a $15 price-tag makes it tough to recommend the package to anyone who wasn't already a big fan back in the day.
-
Games Master UKJul 29, 2013No amount of shiny achievements can take the 'dung' out of these dungeons. [Sept 2013, p.71]
-
Jun 27, 2013It is a nice trip down memory lane, but against modern competition like Castle Crashers or Odin Sphere this multiplayer brawler shows its age.
