The Xbox Live port of Manhattan Project is exactly the same as the acclaimed PC version, it is simply a hell of a blast to play. Duke's Lines will make you laugh and there's plenty of monster to slaughter.

It's hideous. It tears, it runs at somewhere around 10 FPS, it looks like an N64 game, the projectiles seem to appear from outside the screen rather than from Duke, Duke controls like the Atari 2600's E.T., and the gameplay itself is completely unbearable. Even in 2002 this would have been a dud.

Duke Nukem makes the turn from a FPS into a 2D platformer/side-scrolling shooter surprisingly well. Don't let it's age fool you, this game can still bring plenty of enjoyment. Yeah it's got some age on it, but it is still one heck of a fun experience. It's also nice to see something different done with the series, as it proves that sometimes experimenting with a series already established gameplay style can work out if you don't sacrifice the style that made the series popular in the first place. So yes, this is indeed worth the asking price, and one that Duke Nukem fans should enjoy. Expand

Most of the first half of the game is fun. I actually started to think this might be my favorite or one of my favorite Duke Nukem games. It's got mostly decent controls, except sometimes not everything responds. It's not too confusing to get through the levels, which is one reason why I don't like DN3D as much, and the levels didn't take too long to get through. Then when approaching the 2nd half, it started going downhill. It started to get slightly more confusing, there started being more cheap deaths, and the levels started taking me 20+ minutes to complete. So after a while, I started getting burned out. I like that there's over 20 levels that do have some length to them, so you really get a lot of Bang for your $10, but it's not so good when it starts to feel repetitive. Also a lot of the levels start looking the same after awhile. So overall, it's okay. Expand

Maybe if the price was halved I'd feel a little easier about the thought of people buying Manhattan Project, but at its release it's a rip-off compared what else is on the market.
