Really enjoyed Inquisition as this time you take the role of Inquisitor. If you played on the same console then you were able to bring your save file from the previous 2 games, plus the characters you created where also there suck as The Warden.

I will admit that this version of Dragon Age: Inquisition has many, many problems when compared to its other version, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it as much as I did.

The game feels like playing a MMOG by yourself in that it is full of cumbersome fetch quests and the game isn't really difficult at all either, but there's a lot to do and while the storyline isn't as good as the first, it is somewhat engaging and full of some very unique sequences. The online multiplayer part isn't great so if you're think of getting it for that I would say not to, but as a single player RPG, I thought it was very enjoyable. Expand

Originally, I purchased this game for Xbox 360 and it was quite a mistake. Technically, it is slightly garbage. If you only have a 360 and really like Dragon Age and have no choice, possibly give it a try. I'm sure the game is really cheap these days. If you can: buy it for another platform. Gameplay wise: It was slightly boring. It took me years and multiple platforms to finish the game and I can't quite recall how it ended or why it didn't end earlier. The story and action are slightly worse than Dragon Age 2, but the controls are a little bit better. It's overall not a bad game, it's just not good and not what I would expect from another outing in Dragon Age. I really liked the characters and the party was well rounded. Combat was slightly smooth as a warrior or thief, but as a mage it wasn't great. I'd pass on this and play something else.

Okay, I'm sure the game on next gen is wonderful, but on Xbox 360 the game is so broken... massive texturing issues, lagging, audio clipping/glitching, people/buildings/things just popping in and out randomly. And lets not forget the line that's constantly in the top half of the screen.

To me these make it unplayable, and I think EA have sorta ignored people still on last gen... and

Unfortunatly that isn't the case. This is the worst port i could imagine. Graphics and sound are so out of place i couldnt even get myself to play through the tutorial.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bioware rightfully made the best fantasy game only beat by Skyrim. The real draw of this game is Character customization, choices, and discovery. I always love creating a female character and this game doesn't disappoint in that respect unlike Fallout 4 for example. Inquisition still has the best dialogue system and the most decisions out of modern games. So the only competition in that respect is between well, previous Bioware titles and Telltale Games. However, most choices don't have a big enough impact. No matter who you choose, Templars or Mages, you'll still have to defend Haven from the forgettable villain. I understand that part is critical to the story but Bioware has given much more weight to choices in the Mass Effect series
. But Skyhold really is a big improvement over the Normandy. The world is plenty big and the highlights visually are the houses in the Emerald Graves, the Eleven temple in the end, and the sand dunes of the Western Approach(beat Elder Scrolls to the punch). Due to the leveling and weapon damage system, enemies had to have large health bars to make the former mechanics work. There is no point in getting a better weapon if the Red Templars succumb to one or two hits. This makes encounters long and less fun. Dragons take so long to kill.
Only at the end does the story get intriguing. This is mostly thanks to Morigan(who I kept thinking was the villain due to the reveal trailer) and the Elvin lore.Since that I was eager to make progress in the game, I skipped most of the cutscenes, dialogue, and books;something I usually don't do.It ended up cutting my playthrough in half(about 50 hours instead of the average 100+)
In a world where Gods and magic exist, religion stills gets thing wrong. Something I only realized towards the end. Not that they were morally wrong(the chantry is clearly the old christian church and a lot of it draws inspiration from the real world) but that it's not certain who these gods were as Mythal turns out not to be an Elvin god but Morigan's Immortal human mother. And there isn't proof of the maker or the Old Gods existence. The only interesting part of Coryriphius (spelled wrong) was when he mentions that the thrones in the heavens were empty. That mystery definitely will be explained in future games.
The end seems to point towards a Grey Warden civil war being a plot point for DAV. It really sucks that EA most likely took the real ending and released it as the Trespasser DLC only for current-gen. That will probably stop me from playing it as I played it on the 360 and will likely get a PS4.
So the near future for Bioware is Andromeda. Something that is taking far too long to make. Is it going through development hell? Almost. Bioware is trying to make a far more ambitious game than Mass Effect 3. But here's the problem. This is in terms of content, not substance. Clearly the scale of this game is whats being built upon. And in my opinion thats a bad thing. Inquisition would have been significantly better in terms of story, pacing, and level design if Bioware didn't try to compete with the sheer size of Skyrim. Either way, I'm almost certain that Andromeda will be a great game:)

Because of this I ranked this game as a complete and total failure and broken so badly that anyone with a slim will not be able to play it. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I will admit that I have played the original Dragon Age, it's expansion, Dragon Age 2, it's DLC and loved them all ( If one looks at DA:O as the Illayd and DA:2 as the Oydessy, then both have rather strong stories). So when I heard that Dragon Age: Inquisition was coming out and you could fight dragons for again ( doesn't anyone seem to remember that the Archdemon in the first DA had you fighting a dragon in the end? No, just me? Well alright then), to my post Skyrim addled brain, I ran to Gamestop and reserved the deluxe edition (which included I think some DLC, the hard back prima guide, and a fancy mount or two)

I now feel ashamed to admit that I did that. DA: I was not worth the 80 dollars (US) that I shelled out for it. And I'm not saying this because I am bitter. I'm saying this as someone who's played video games since the Xbox first came out and has played BioWare games since KotOR. And it pains me to write this review. In fact, like many others I am reading, this is the first time I've written a review for a game. And I am trying to be as honest as I can here.

    Pros:
-New race to play. I found it fun to run around as a Qunari.
-Mounts. Say what you will but it was nice to actually have a mount in a fantasy game. Granted both the ES and Witcher series had these years ago but details.
-Skyhold (I think that;s the name) Dude! A freaking castle to govern, that's pretty sweet/ really fun to customize.

As you can see I'm having issues finding the positives with this installment of the series. As for the cons well.....

    Cons
-Graphics: There's something to be said where I look at gameplay videos from the PS4/Xbox One and think, there's not a whole lot of difference. In fact, I can see no difference from DA:2 graphics to DA: I. Is it because I'm running it on a 360? Probably, but there's an issue when you have a game from 2014, claiming a leap in graphics from three years ago, when clearly it doesn't. Except for some weird face shine that everyone has.

-Glitches: Where do I begin? Let's start with freezes all the time, audio glitches (for the first 20 hours of my game, my companions said nothing), areas failing to load properly, lag, the hovering after jumping (where your character is stuck mid air), etc.

-Story: BioWare...why? Just why? This story is so overused and filled with cliches and plot holes. Hell, you kinda copied TES formula of, you start as a prisoner, revealed to be chosen one, go save the world. The fact that your villain (and spoilers ahead here people) is the same guy I beat from Dragon Age 2 and yet, is here to bring the perfect world/ kill all the gods, feels incredibly lazy and weak. The fact that you have Solas as the one who saves you/ mentioning of everyone being suspicious about him and how he helped you with the mark, made me roll my eyes and predict his role in this installment. Your characters...jeeze, and this pains me to say as someone who identifies as lesbian/liberal/conscious of social issues, your only good queer characters are Iron Bull and Josephine. Everything else feels like you are just checking off some box to say, look how inclusive we are, look at us, look at us, praise us. No, sorry, doesn't work like that. At least in Mass Effect series, the romances/ people's sexuality felt organic/ not used as a token. I'd rather not have any representation in this game then the **** you put in it.

-Pacing: I haven't seen a game more mispaced since Fable 3. And that says a lot to me. The fact that your first arc of the game does feel like a race against time, then slows down/ is delayed by what are known as grinding missions/ fluffers.... that's not how it should go. Build on the tension of the first arc, not down play it. Don't make me wait 3-5 hours so I can have one mission done to earn something so that I can go onto the main quest. It's not a freeium phone game guys.

Missions: If I wanted an MMO experience, I would go play an MMO EA/BioWare. The fact that you have hundreds of fetching quests/ pointless side missions that don't do anything to help me in the end of the game leaves me feeling frustrated. I want to play side quests that either a) help me earn new loot/ exp/things to upgrade my skills or b) will have some effect on the world as a whole. Like in the Witcher series or heck even ME series.

-Combat: There is something to be said when there are two or three forum sections about how even your causal difficulty is too difficult. Combat is a freaking mess, AI just has your party running into enemies, tactical cam is a joke, your skills barely do anything....it's just a mess.

    Overall:
If EA wanted to do Dragon Age Online then they should've. Not give us Dragon Age: Single Play MMO with bugs, bad story and characters, and just rushed out the door. Don't buy at full price. Just read the wiki/ add your choices to the keep when they come out with a new DA title.

It's not as graphically impressive and some more noticeable technical issues are left hanging around. Yet none of these flaws ruin what is still a very enjoyable game. While gamers might be better off playing it on Xbox One or PS4, the 360 version is in no way broken. It's still a perfectly viable way of experiencing the latest chapter in the Dragon Age series. Just know there are some extra issues that rear their ugly heads from time to time.

Bioware has crafted a massive experience. It is bursting at the seams with content. The game is comprised of multiple wide-open areas to explore. Each act as their own sandbox world with a unique theme. When exploring them it is hard to not stumble upon a new objective at every turn. The game will keep you hooked for hours if you truly want to see everything. The great thing about all of this side-content is that it feels meaningful enough to tie-in with the your quest of growing the Inquisition and shaping the game's world.

No matter what you do in the game it all goes back the inquisition somehow. Whether you are establishing your presence in a new area or simply growing your influence with the people of Thedas, every action feels meaningful and significant to your overall goal. That's an impressive feat. The game also does a lot to make you feel like you are actually managing a powerful and influential force. The new "war table" missions have you interacting with various individuals, problems, and factions all around Thedas. How you choose to deal with these situations actually feels like you are impacting the world in the process. It ends up feeling better to choose the solution you feel is the best, instead of just choosing the one that is the fastest (the war table missions act on timers).

As far as the story goes, it's solidly written and features some meaningful choices to make, but ultimately parts of it get lost among all of the content. You'll spend so many hours exploring worlds and knocking off quests from your ever growing to do list that you'll for get parts of the game's core conflict. Especially since so much of the villains main goal is tied into some deep and slightly confusing lore that can get hard to put together among all of the action. Still, the writing is solid and it has a lot of great moments.

While Bioware doesn't deliver as strongly in the story department as their previous offerings, the character interactions are as strong as ever. You truly feel like you are building real relationships with your companions, each of whom has a unique personality. It took me a while to like some of these characters, but before long I found myself thinking of them as real friends. The romance element of the series often makes it feel like you are actually romancing someone. You still have the wham, bam, thank you mam characters who are just a little to easy to bed, but there is some genuine romance here like back in the first Dragon Age.

The combat does a great job of combining the two styles from the previous Dragon Age games. The tactical style of Origins and the more directly involving nature of 2 are combined here to create an experience that keeps you right in the center of the action while allowing for plenty of strategic freedom. Some light issues with camera and stuff make using the game's tactic's mode a pain at times, but overall it's freedom is satisfying. You can also create any kind of character you want. Various crafting options allow you to take the gear you want into combat. The game also allows for options that simplify the experience like auto-leveling that make it easier for those who just don't want to dive into the game's deeper systems and mechanics. No matter which way you choose to play the experience is still satisfying.

In a first for the series there is also multiplayer. It's a cooperative dungeon-crawling experience. There's really not too much else to say about it. It has no ties to the main-quest like ME 3's did, so no worries there. It's just a mode that's there if you need it. Bioware has expanded upon it in interesting ways, but I personally didn't find it interesting enough to keep me coming back. There's nothing wrong with it though.

Bioware delivers a huge experience. While the story might not be as strong as their other offerings, the amount of gameplay they have to offer here has rarely been stronger. If you can forgive some technical issues and dated graphics the 360 is still a fine way to experience it. It's a wholly satisfying package that can keep you hooked for hours. With satisfying character interactions, a large amount of enjoyable content, and plenty of reasons to keep coming back it's an RPG worth playing. Especially for fans of the series. What it does it does mostly well. It also sets up the series for some great things to come.

I give the game an 8.5/10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There were many improvements in this game as well as things that could be worked on in the future but other than that I thought they added some very interesting choices that were very different from the previous games. I liked that there were more opportunities to explore the world and there weren't a lot of boundaries which I both liked and disliked. I liked it because you could jump up mountains and climb up and ladders and such. I disliked it because sometimes you would get stuck in a tricky spot to get out of and then you would have to load the game again and have to start over from there.

It was an interesting choice for them to add horses to the game and it also made it easier to explore the gigantic world. There were also a lot of mini quests and objects to collect to help with the inquisition that made it longer to complete the game which was different compared to the previous games in which it didn't take you too long to complete a mission as long as you kept eyes open during your quest and made such to pick certain things up and compete certain things at a certain time. It was the same way in inquisition but it just took a bit longer in my opinion.

Another thing I found interesting was how they did the companions. There were companions that fought along side with you and then there were three companions that did other stuff for the inquisition. Such as Leliana was the spymaster, Josephine was the ambassador, and Cullen was the commander of the army. You could also develop a romantic relationship with them; at least with Josephine and Cullen.

There were things I liked and disliked about how they did the romance with the companions. I liked how they gave you more options as to how to gain romance status with another companions but I thought it was confusing as to how you got it. Such as in the first game, it was all in the points, in the second game you had the choice to have two different types of romances (friendship or rivalry), while in this game there wasn't any clear rules except the companion approves or disapproves. It was also interesting that they had more limitations as to who could romance who. For example certain characters only preferred a certain sex or class. I understood why they did it that way but it made the romance options very limited. I was disappointed that Varric wasn't a romance option because I wanted to created a dwarf and have a romance with him. I was kind of hoping that this would be the first game in which you could romance a dwarf.

Another criticism about this game was that it was a little glitchy. Sometimes the graphics would be off or the game would get stuck or lag. I've read other reviews and some said that it might be due the fact that this is the Xbox 360 version and not the Xbox One.

Overall, I thought the game was very unique compared to the previous games and it showed promise.

I'm giving this game a zero out of ten because it wouldn't even let me play it. It requires 7 GB, which I had (barely), but the hard drive had to be an Xbox 360 hard drive for whatever moronic reason, and the one that came with my Xbox only had 4 GB total. This is truly the most bizarre thing ever. Literally every other game that I've played on my Xbox 360 lets me use my other hard drive.

The romances and friendship sidequests are also just as amazing. Bioware have managed to get the perfect balance between action and character development. The party banter - where characters (which you have chosen) in your questing party make casual chitchat between eachother - is one of my favourite little elements in the Dragon Age games, and in this one has expanded on that beautifully.

    GRAPHICS
The scenery is so bright and luxurious, with whole ranges of different landscapes from desert to oasis to forest to marsh to glacier and even the beautiful Cal Royeaux. Enough to compete with skyrim's landscapes. The only complaint about graphics is that the hair was almost TOO shiny, and would occasionally look somewhat glitchy with the character's ears or armour. (But this could be down to the gamer's own ability to create - as my later created characters were less so) I imagine this may also improve with patches.

    STORYLINE
The Inquistor's Path (the main story line) is cleverly slowed by the need for 'power'. This means that the inquistor has to earn power by doing side quests, closing rifts and earning trust, in order to continue the main storyline. However, I still felt that in my first playtrough the main storyline felt too short. And that they only used the power tactic in order to extend gameplay time. I enjoyed the new combat thoroughly, as ordinarily I've found playing as a ranged character, whether that be an archer or a mage quite frustrating or boring. However, because of the new imaginative 'tactics' mode, being a ranged character gave more room for tactical gameplay. A beautiful game, I only wanted more of it! But you can't pause cutscenes.... that's BS.

This game started out horribly, poor story line and tons of glitches. However, once you progress in the game (and download the patches) it is actually fantastic. I'm glad I stuck with it because the first two hours made me want to throw it in the trash.

Do not buy this game for 360! I'm not really much of a graphics nut, as in I normally don't care about low res textures, pop in, etc... but this is seriously the worst 360 port I have ever seen. Textures sometimes never pop in, audio cuts in and out and glitches all over the place, load times are insane sometimes, lag, whenever I jump my character seems to hit the ground mid air and lose all momentum (more annoying than you might expect), and so on. The game looks okay when playing it, but during cut scenes (which is a good chunk of the game) the graphics are so bad that they break immersion.

Okay, so the gameplay is solid. I haven't gotten through the whole game yet, but I'd say if it weren't for other problems I'd give this an 8.

Overall I am just shocked that a game with this little polish, or concern for quality, could even be released by such a large publisher. EA has a bad rep in the gaming community, and some of it isn't deserved, but this version of the game is a complete rip off at $60, and EA should be ashamed that they released it in this ridiculous state. Stop releasing broken games, EA, c'mon!

I really like this game because of you can create whatever build you think of and then make it in game. i would know because I have the game and my builds a assassins bow build. It's graphically quite beautiful, and the exploration plus both forms of combat really open the game up.

but the down side the loading screen take to long to load in to the game

I am reading some of these reviews with my mouth hanging open because I just cannot fathom a gamer that would not enjoy this game fully and wholeheartedly. So this will be more a review rebutting the things that have been used against the game to justify a bad rating.

Graphics - So, I am definitely not going to delude myself or anyone else that this port does not have graphic and audio issues, because it does, sometimes a lot and sometimes causing unexpected laughs ( why your hair so shiny!? ). But you know what? That's okay because I am just happy that I get to venture back to Thedas without needing a brand new console if I do not want one. Plus there will be a point of awesomeness that will be felt when I do finally get a next gen console and go back through DA:I and see all the differences. In my mind that's awesome and gives me one more reason to play through more than once.

Combat/Potions - Does exactly what it tries to do. Make a functioning and engaging hybrid of DA:O and DA:II combat systems. Anyone who has an issue with this is apparently not playing the game right. I agree to some extent that the new potion system has somethings to be desired, but it is no way it is as broken and a pain in the butt that some describe. It makes the game more challenging.Cause come on lets be honest with ourselves, how many of us only killed the Archdemon because we made like 400 Potions before going into combat, talk about potion spamming. I keep seeing people saying 8 Max Health Potions but with a simple Perk you can get up to 12 ( possibly higher as perhaps there is an agent out there to modify it higher ) plus you have these crazy things call regeneration potions and the new guard and barrier mechanics. Come on people, adapt! There is a crazy amount of strategy to the combat and potion systems, find it and use it. You DO NOT have to backtrack and teleport back as much as some people want you to think, if you are actually using strategy. I play on hard and have very rarely died or needed to teleport back from and area to replenish. The developers even planned to minimize this issue by force by adding replenishment crates (depending on area and difficulty) to longer quests/story missions. You have to also think about how to tackle a new area so this is even further minimized. Combat is fluid, and everything has it's purpose. Is it more the MMO style, with Tank, DPS etc. Yes but it works well and I love it. Plus with Vulnerabilities of enemies it really encourages you to use more of your party members as a whole and not just one set. ( You'll need different element mages for Dragons especially ). The Tactical Camera can be admittedly wonky at times but nothing so terrible. The combat system really makes it easy and encourages you to use every asset you have. Until this game I never bothered with Tonics or Grenades. As a whole it is well done. Now with all that said, there is a part of combat that I am furious they "dumbed down" and that is the Tactics for your party. Gone are the highly customizable action slots, the do this, if this happens slots. Why Bioware Why!? I understand having this easy AI options as an option for difficultly but to strip it out completely!? And I understand that leaving it out encourages players to utilize the tactical camera but still why can't we have it all and make playing the game as customizable as our Dragon Keep Stories? Thank the Maker that when it is needed at least this simplified AI is competent!

Attributes/Talent Trees - Yes, you cannot directly assign attribute points but this does not take much away from anything in my opinion, it causes less tedious leveling up. You will need to view the trees as what they are, ways to play a class. This system will not work with a couple Points spent in this tree and a couple in this in one etc. The trees are designed for you to unlock it entirely for the best results with playing like the tree suggests which is why abilities will have increases to relavant attributes. Now not to say there aren't exceptions. Plus the trees are relatively short meaning there will be enough points to usually have two trees plus your specialization. Also with the comeback of "Andraste's Grace" from DA:II in the form of once equip necklaces you will be able to change up your play style within your class whenever you want!

Crafting - I have a lot to say about the system but due to the character limit of the review I will boil it down to one word : Perfect.

Companions - I guess this is the area that personal preferences will be the most profound. I personally found all of the companions intriguing and well thought out. I struggled to form my "base group" because I wanted them all.

So to all who complained about this game to some extent, I get some of what you say but some other things you say make you sound like whiny brats. Evolve your gameplay to match the evolution of the game. So all in all a solid and insanely fun 9/10.

This is the first and only game I have ever preordered, as I'm cheap and normally wait for prices to drop. The entire incentive behind this purchase was to see how my previous plays and character interactions in the other games impacted the new world created in Inquisition. I spent a solid hour and a half trying to make sure my world state on Dragon Age Keep was perfect and every decision I had made was accurate. After two months, I still can not import a world save into the game due to family settings, a problem that has still not been resolved for the Xbox 360. I've posted in online forums and contacted EA via phone, who basically said it wasn't their problem. Had I known this would be an issue, I never would have purchased this game, as this was the most important part for me.

In addition, the one playthrough I did was extremely glitchy. I can't speak to Dorian at all without the game freezing and removing all dialogue options. I can't even bring him in the party. The overall game lags, the graphics glitch, the characters barely talk... I could go on and on. Really disappointed in the overall quality of this game. The plot was intriguing, and I liked the customization options. If I had been able to actually import my world, it could have been a great story. It had so much promise, but it was so poorly executed. And I've learned my lesson: definitely don't preorder from this sham of a company before the reviews are in.

After getting in the game and playing for nearly 40 hours, I had to write a review.
I saw how much hype this was getting, and being the Dragon Age Fan I was, I bought it and threw myself willingly in the lion's den.

The graphics for Xbox 360 are appalling, definitely the worst of the trilogy. i didn't even get past the opening cut scene to see a man (if you could call the poor soul that) who looked like a wire frame with plastic slabs for a body. I blamed it on a bug (as it should be) and moved on.

One word for this game, pop in. This game pops in more than Homer Simpson in Moe's. I had eye strain after half an hour of playing. But I got used to it.

If you ignore the graphics, the crafting system is solid, with plenty of recipes and material combinations to keep you entertained for hours. There jumping is glitched (my character seems to hit the ground in mid air and loses all momentum in her), but the animations, particularly the lock picking and looting animations are great.

Combat is as you would expect in a Dragon Age game, a mix of Real Time Strategy, and Hack and Slash, with buffs and de-buffs coming from Mages and plenty status effects to exploit for huge amounts of damage. All I can ask is that the A.I tactics from Dragon Age 2 would make a return.

A handy tool is the Dragon Age Keep, which allows you to edit your Dragon Age experience and import it to Dragon Age Inquisition.

Characters can be forgettable at times, depending on who you pick for your team, they seem uninteresting, almost boring. However, they do have some hilarious conversations (Cassandra's Swords and Shields, that is all I shall say!)

I recommend buying the game for Next-Gen or PC, but avoid it at all cost for Last-Gen!

The game is incredible. It has a really solid combat system, and your position as Inquisitor feels genuine, especially when you get your castle. The characters are interesting and you really do like them. But by far, the best thing is the Dragon hunting. It's so climactic and so fun, despite not using the system from Dragon's Dogma.
In terms of flaws, they are few and far between. The ending feels kind of rushed, the first area you visit (the Hinterlands) is pretty boring, and the Xbox 360 version has quite a lot of texture pop-in and audio bugs. However, the game plays smoothly, and I never got major crashes or lag.
In conclusion, BUY THIS GAME. If you can, get it on a next-gen console or on a good PC, but it's not game-breakingly bad on the PS3 or 360.
