Okay, I'm sure the game on next gen is wonderful, but on Xbox 360 the game is so broken... massive texturing issues, lagging, audio clipping/glitching, people/buildings/things just popping in and out randomly. And lets not forget the line that's constantly in the top half of the screen.

To me these make it unplayable, and I think EA have sorta ignored people still on last gen... and I

Definitely not worth full price for the 360, based on just how bad it looks, I don't think they should have even done a port to last gen if it looks that bad.

Hopefully Bioware/EA fix these somehow, but until then it's not worth getting on last gen.

However, the actual gameplay, ignoring speech and graphic glitches, is good. The story is awesome, but again, these messed up graphics and audio really takes away from that.

The game in of itself is fun. But the 360 version is terrible as far as lag, poor textures/graphics, and issues with audio. The worst of those three being the graphics.

Im a huge Bio ware fan. And i have played this when i still owned a ps4 so i thought it would be a bit of the same although possibly a little less, Like GTA 5 did.
Unfortunatly that isn't the case. This is the worst port i could imagine. Graphics and sound are so out of place i couldnt even get myself to play through the tutorial.

Originally, I purchased this game for Xbox 360 and it was quite a mistake. Technically, it is slightly garbage. Gameplay wise: It was slightly boring. It took me years and multiple platforms to finish the game and I can't quite recall how it ended or why it didn't end earlier. The story and action are slightly worse than Dragon Age 2, but the controls are a little bit better. It's overall not a bad game, it's just not good and not what I would expect from another outing in Dragon Age. I really liked the characters and the party was well rounded. Combat was slightly smooth as a warrior or thief, but as a mage it wasn't great. I'd pass on this and play something else.

The low rating I have given is due to the fact that any immersion in the game for me was ruined by the extensive graphical and audio glitches. I'm not fussed about having super realistic graphics, but when textures pop in 15 seconds late to every cut scene and things render right in front of your character, it's hard to maintain any immersion. A lot of time has clearly been put into creating a beautiful and expansive world, but those efforts are almost wholly undermined by the unfinished feel the 360 version has.

I was royally pissed off to have spent £40 on a game which just isn't made for the Xbox 360 and doesn't run properly on it - you should not have to pay that much for this game, as it is simply broken. If you can, next-gen it, but for those (like me) who can't, at least wait until it's a more reasonable price and patches might have fixed some of the issues.

I'm giving this game a zero out of ten because it wouldn't even let me play it. It requires 7 GB, which I had (barely), but the hard drive had to be an Xbox 360 hard drive for whatever moronic reason, and the one that came with my Xbox only had 4 GB total. This is truly the most bizarre thing ever. Literally every other game that I've played on my Xbox 360 lets me use my other hard drive.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I will admit that I have played the original Dragon Age, it's expansion, Dragon Age 2, it's DLC and loved them all ( If one looks at DA:O as the Illayd and DA:2 as the Oydessy, then both have rather strong stories). So when I heard that Dragon Age: Inquisition was coming out and you could fight dragons for again ( doesn't anyone seem to remember that the Archdemon in the first DA had you fighting a dragon in the end? No, just me? Well alright then), to my post Skyrim addled brain, I ran to Gamestop and reserved the deluxe edition (which included I think some DLC, the hard back prima guide, and a fancy mount or two)

I now feel ashamed to admit that I did that. DA: I was not worth the 80 dollars (US) that I shelled out for it. And I'm not saying this because I am bitter. I'm saying this as someone who's played video games since the Xbox first came out and has played BioWare games since KotOR. And it pains me to write this review. In fact, like many others I am reading, this is the first time I've written a review for a game. And I am trying to be as honest as I can here.

    Pros:
-New race to play. I found it fun to run around as a Qunari.
-Mounts. Say what you will but it was nice to actually have a mount in a fantasy game. Granted both the ES and Witcher series had these years ago but details.
-Skyhold (I think that;s the name) Dude! A freaking castle to govern, that's pretty sweet/ really fun to customize.

As you can see I'm having issues finding the positives with this installment of the series. As for the cons well.....

    Cons
-Graphics: There's something to be said where I look at gameplay videos from the PS4/Xbox One and think, there's not a whole lot of difference. In fact, I can see no difference from DA:2 graphics to DA: I. Is it because I'm running it on a 360? Probably, but there's an issue when you have a game from 2014, claiming a leap in graphics from three years ago, when clearly it doesn't. Except for some weird face shine that everyone has.

-Glitches: Where do I begin? Let's start with freezes all the time, audio glitches (for the first 20 hours of my game, my companions said nothing), areas failing to load properly, lag, the hovering after jumping (where your character is stuck mid air), etc.

-Story: BioWare...why? Just why? This story is so overused and filled with cliches and plot holes. Hell, you kinda copied TES formula of, you start as a prisoner, revealed to be chosen one, go save the world. The fact that your villain (and spoilers ahead here people) is the same guy I beat from Dragon Age 2 and yet, is here to bring the perfect world/ kill all the gods, feels incredibly lazy and weak. The fact that you have Solas as the one who saves you/ mentioning of everyone being suspicious about him and how he helped you with the mark, made me roll my eyes and predict his role in this installment. Your characters...jeeze, and this pains me to say as someone who identifies as lesbian/liberal/conscious of social issues, your only good queer characters are Iron Bull and Josephine. Everything else feels like you are just checking off some box to say, look how inclusive we are, look at us, look at us, praise us. No, sorry, doesn't work like that. At least in Mass Effect series, the romances/ people's sexuality felt organic/ not used as a token. I'd rather not have any representation in this game then the **** you put in it.

-Pacing: I haven't seen a game more mispaced since Fable 3. And that says a lot to me. The fact that your first arc of the game does feel like a race against time, then slows down/ is delayed by what are known as grinding missions/ fluffers.... that's not how it should go. Build on the tension of the first arc, not down play it. Don't make me wait 3-5 hours so I can have one mission done to earn something so that I can go onto the main quest. It's not a freeium phone game guys.

Missions: If I wanted an MMO experience, I would go play an MMO EA/BioWare. The fact that you have hundreds of fetching quests/ pointless side missions that don't do anything to help me in the end of the game leaves me feeling frustrated. I want to play side quests that either a) help me earn new loot/ exp/things to upgrade my skills or b) will have some effect on the world as a whole. Like in the Witcher series or heck even ME series.

-Combat: There is something to be said when there are two or three forum sections about how even your causal difficulty is too difficult. Combat is a freaking mess, AI just has your party running into enemies, tactical cam is a joke, your skills barely do anything....it's just a mess.

    Overall:
If EA wanted to do Dragon Age Online then they should've. Not give us Dragon Age: Single Play MMO with bugs, bad story and characters, and just rushed out the door. Don't buy at full price. Just read the wiki/ add your choices to the keep when they come out with a new DA title.

I waited a long time for this game. I knew it had to be even better than DA2 which was my favorite game of all time. I am still hoping but after two days of play I feel like I have gone back 10 years in game playing.

First of all, anyone with graphic design 101 knowledge knows that small white type on black is hard to read. Come on EA, really? I have a huge TV and it is an effort to read that font on black. Then add the most convoluted control system but really, since all you have to do is push one button over and over to fight I guess every other button (and you use them all in the most complicated ways) don't matter all that much do they?

What happened to character interaction? I keep hoping that the further I get in the game the more interaction I will have but all I get is looking at a "distance" of characters I have no personal connection with running behind me. I honestly don't care if they all leave my service. What happened to a natural face to face conversation? I am supposed to be the character not looking at the characters talking from "far off".

What made DA2 so special is that I could get to know the characters around me. I could interact with them "face to face" and not from the third person distance I feel in this game. I felt like I had control of my character in choosing, buying selling, travelling. There is none of that yet and I keep playing hoping that there will be as the game goes along. That is truly the only reason I continue to play.

If a previous game is loved, why lose all the loved characters from that game? I understand the loss of some based on choices in the previous DA2 but not others. That is why they are called companions, we should be able to keep them and move forward.

So for a few days since getting the game all I do is run (since walking is clumsy), look for red dots or exclamation points in the corner of the screen to know I am supposed to be doing something else, hit the button repeatedly to fight red dots, level up (also small and hard to figure out) and repeat.

I was so sure that I would have taken over the TV for days and now I struggle to play an hour at a time in the hope that the game will become interesting. Who did your positive reviews and who did they know at your company or is this the first game they have played since the Atari system came out?

It's safe to say I barely made out alive.

The graphics for Xbox 360 are appalling, definitely the worst of the trilogy. i didn't even get past the opening cut scene to see a man (if you could call the poor soul that) who looked like a wire frame with plastic slabs for a body. I blamed it on a bug (as it should be) and moved on.

One word for this game, pop in. This game pops in more than Homer Simpson in Moe's. I had eye strain after half an hour of playing. But I got used to it.

If you ignore the graphics, the crafting system is solid, with plenty of recipes and material combinations to keep you entertained for hours. There jumping is glitched (my character seems to hit the ground in mid air and loses all momentum in her), but the animations, particularly the lock picking and looting animations are great.

Combat is as you would expect in a Dragon Age game, a mix of Real Time Strategy, and Hack and Slash, with buffs and de-buffs coming from Mages and plenty status effects to exploit for huge amounts of damage. All I can ask is that the A.I tactics from Dragon Age 2 would make a return.

A handy tool is the Dragon Age Keep, which allows you to edit your Dragon Age experience and import it to Dragon Age Inquisition.

Characters can be forgettable at times, depending on who you pick for your team, they seem uninteresting, almost boring. However, they do have some hilarious conversations (Cassandra's Swords and Shields, that is all I shall say!)

I recommend buying the game for Next-Gen or PC, but avoid it at all cost for Last-Gen!

Here’s 7 reasons why this is my biggest ever gaming disappointment:

Here’s 7 reasons why this is my biggest ever gaming disappointment:

    1. MAGES DEPOWERED TO THE POINT OF INSIGNIFICANCE. It's now inconceivable that mages are the group that everyone most fears. Why, when few of their spells have any teeth, and most of their abilities non-offensive? Of those few offensive abilities, their max damage is now a percentage of the staff you're carrying. For example, a shock spell might give you "120% of weapon" worth of damage, meaning two shots with my staff would have more effect. Whoopie. Where is Cone of Cold? Where is Inferno? What happened to Paralysis and Glyph of Repulsion? I used to be able to RAIN DESTRUCTION down on enemies as a mage, and the game was still challenging. Now I can make a barrier. Or I can "panic" enemies. Or I can "slide out of the way of danger". Fear me world!

    2. LACK OF ABILITY TO HEAL. I'm fighting through a cave. We fight through the first tunnel clearing, but we all take significant damage because I'm a mage and my spells suck, thus a simple forest bear is now the equivalent of a dragonling, even on Casual mode. But oh wait, my mage can't heal anymore, health doesn't replenish after fights, and my potions have been capped at 8. That's two apiece. That means, once we drink them, we must then (a) teleport back to camp, then (b) run all the way BACK to the spot we just left so we can continue. My, how immersive. (Who at Bioware thought this was a change we were clamoring for?) The cooldown on potions in DA2 was entirely adequate. This limitation has caused the game to descend into long periods of tedium for me. It's an OPEN WORLD ADVENTURE. It's supposed to ENCOURAGE exploration, not punish you for it.

    3. RESPAWNING ENEMIES IN SAME LOCATIONS. In a game like Skyrim, even in the above scenario, I could cope because once I've cleared an area in a cave or dungeon, it stays cleared. But in the DAI version of the scenario, once I run back to camp to heal, then run back to the cave, all the enemies have respawned in the exact same locations, so I'm back to square one. Get ready to chug those 2 potions apiece again! And my mage is still a powerless wuss.

    4. ROMANCEABLE OPTIONS UNDERWHELMING. If you're a heterosexual male, you'd do better at an Amish mixer. No Morrigans or Isabellas or Lelianas (the DAO version) here, just a lot of oily-haired plain janes with questionable hygiene, who look like they’d be more at home in “The Witcher”. Not one of them remotely appealing.

    5. UNENGAGING CHARACTERS. In DAO and DA2, I felt personally invested in the lives of the characters and in their relationships. I cared whether Aveline got together with Donnic. I wanted Morrigan and Dog to get along. I wanted Wynne's approval when "courting" Leliana (whose innocence and compassion were refreshing in that game's climate). But 15 hours into DAI, the characters are about as interesting as a glass of milk. Blackwall? Meh. Cassandra? Grating. Varric and Sera are the only interesting party members, and occassionally they'll quip, but not often. In DA2 my followers were chatting all the time, and it was FUN. Now they're mostly silent observers. Or maybe it just seems like that because I'm spending so much time doing tedious things like running back and forth to heal and gathering crafting materials. And Leliana has become a scowling, embittered curmudgeon. Serves her right for leaving my Hero of Ferelden I guess.

    6. CRAFTING = MORE TEDIUM. After a long day of work, my idea of immersive escapism isn't running around fetching things and then making things that the game should provide -- like weapons and clothing. There's no bigger buzzkill than when you defeat a room full of enemies on your third try (and it's taken a couple of hours because of the back-and-forth healing at camps and retracing your steps), and you finally get to open that treasure chest, and it contains.... some cotton. Wheeee.

    7. NO ATTRIBUTE POINTS TO SPEND. Now, if I want to increase my spell strength (and I'd better, because my spells suck), I've got to "unlock" attribute points, by purchasing abilities which are useless to me -- sometimes multiple abilities, so that I can worm my way down the skill tree to get to the one I need.

Bioware could improve my experience DRASTICALLY by (a) providing a patch to eliminate the ridiculous potions cap, and (b) creating some DLC, which I would gladly purchase, to provide a “classic” spell tree, bringing back faves like Tempest and Cone of Cold/Lightning/Fire and Glyph of Repulsion. Until such time as they do, this game is at the top of my list of all-time disappointments.

I love the DA series. If you own a 360, best of luck. Spent quite a bit of time in the game and when I went to continue or load from any save point, the game freezes in the black loading screen with the small icon in the lower right corner. Tried reinstalling many times to no avail. I've sent multiple emails to EA and Bio ware, tried online customer support and phone them with no responseI love the DA series. I've sent multiple emails to EA and Bio ware, tried online customer support and phone them with no response as of yet, and yes I spent the extra bucks for deluxe edition of crap. They seem to be only concerned with PS4 and Xbox One user concerns and problems, as a patch was released for PS4 on game release day, hmm suspicious. So if you want a workable/playable version I guess you'll need a PS4 or One. Oh GameStop offered $75 in store credit for the deluxe edition. Best of luck to my fellow Xbox 360 users on this catastrophe they call a playable game. Expand

Joined this site just to write a review. I'm a relatively new gamer, and friends suggested the Dragon Age series. I preordered this game after enjoying the first two games and their dlcs. This is the first and only game I have ever preordered, as I'm cheap and normally wait for prices to drop. The entire incentive behind this purchase was to see how my previous plays and character interactions in the other games impacted the new world created in Inquisition. I spent a solid hour and a half trying to make sure my world state on Dragon Age Keep was perfect and every decision I had made was accurate. After two months, I still can not import a world save into the game due to family settings, a problem that has still not been resolved for the Xbox 360. I've posted in online forums and contacted EA via phone, who basically said it wasn't their problem. Had I known this would be an issue, I never would have purchased this game, as this was the most important part for me.

In addition, the one playthrough I did was extremely glitchy. I can't speak to Dorian at all without the game freezing and removing all dialogue options. I can't even bring him in the party. The overall game lags, the graphics glitch, the characters barely talk... I could go on and on. Really disappointed in the overall quality of this game. The plot was intriguing, and I liked the customization options. If I had been able to actually import my world, it could have been a great story. It had so much promise, but it was so poorly executed. And I've learned my lesson: definitely don't preorder from this sham of a company before the reviews are in.

If you expect a Dragon Age, do not buy this game. If you expect a Skyrim, do not buy this game. If you expect a typical BioWare game, do not buy this game. If you expect a good RPG, do not buy this game.
