Official Xbox Magazine UKThe end fight where you have to plug every single enemy and boss before facing the unfairly tough villain is the stuff of legends...Co-op play is essential if you want to finish the game. [Feb 2007, p.100]
-
While Double Dragon might not turn the heads of today’s youngsters, aging gamers will definitely enjoy the quick stroll down memory lane.
-
Double Dragon for the Xbox Live Arcade will provide some quick entertainment for nostalgia fiends, but the game doesn't hold up as well as you might hope.
-
Official Xbox MagazineSo what's missing? Replayability. Using unlimited continues (an option we do appreciate), both one- and two-player games top out at just under 30 minutes. [June 2007, p.73]
-
X-ONE Magazine UKUnlike other coin-op conversions on Live, the online experience is virtually flawless and lag-free. [Issue 21, p.116]
-
Double Dragon can be fun, but it under-delivers. This is a five-dollar game. You deserve more than a crap framerate and lingering bugs. The fact that co-op is so difficult due to the slowdown sucks most of the joy from Double Dragon.
-
Double Dragon succeeds in delivering the same action as its NES predecessor, but it’s bogged down by its total lack of difficulty and the pitiful emulation job.
-
A game that should have received a massive retooling to bring it into the modern era, or been left to those gamers that like to pull out their old NES system once in a while. Though the game is only 400 points, that is a steep price for about 20 minutes of game play.

Feb 23, 2013This game was once a classic, Time has not served it well. Best left to the memory I think. There are much better games to spend Xbox live points on.
