Oct 21, 2010Action-RPG fans will certainly have fun with this release, although it's similar to the original, and if you're into thongs and "role-playing" then this game is a win-win.
-
Oct 21, 2010This is certainly a game best enjoyed for its story, but only if you can appreciate Terry Goodkind or Monty Python as well as J.R.R. Tolkien.
-
Oct 21, 2010Coming in at about 16-20 hours for under twenty bucks, DeathSpank Thongs of Virtue surpasses its predecessor in every way, and though it does suffer from minor frame-rate issues in the latter sections, it is one of the most rewarding and fun-filled bits of gaming I've had, and I eagerly await the next instalment.
-
Oct 21, 2010You really do not need to know much about the original to find this one fun and enjoyable.
-
Oct 21, 2010Players that enjoyed the 1st game will no doubt find Thongs of Virtue irresistible as will people new to Death Spank's humorous escapades.
-
Oct 21, 2010If you enjoyed the first DeathSpank, you're gonna love Thongs of Virtue. It's just as addictive, just as pretty, and I dare say it's even a little funnier.
-
Oct 21, 2010One of the most amusing and cheerful games I've seen since... well, Psychonauts. Easy to play, but very, very hard to put down.
-
Oct 21, 2010With a rehashed battle system and a story very loosely tied together by tight underwear, Thongs of Virtue is not as cohesive nor as innovative as its predecessor. But it feels overbearing to criticize an unflinchingly goofy 15-hour adventure that couldn't take itself any less seriously if it tried.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jan 13, 2011You can count the number of changes since Deathspank, Part One on fingers of one hand but humorous exaggeration; fluent playability, hilarious voice cast and stylish visuals make Thongs of Virtue an excellent and funny game experience. [Issue#197]
-
X-ONE Magazine UKDec 25, 2010This adventure doesn't do as good a job of pointing you in the right direction as the original, but all the same, it's a thoroughly entertaining action RPG... [Issue#66, p.103]
-
Oct 21, 2010It has no real new features in comparison with the first release, so it may dissapoint some players, but it retains the original's strenghts.
-
Oct 21, 2010Unfortunately, the truth remains that because of its lack of remarkable or memorable gameplay and aesthetics, combined with mostly lukewarm humor, there are many more games that players will spend $15 on before even considering Deathspank.
-
Oct 21, 2010If you enjoyed DeathSpank's first adventure, the second one will be right up your alley.
-
Oct 21, 2010The larger scope of Thongs of Virtue makes it a great second entry, but when comparing it to the first, the lack of improvements put it in a bad position. It's definitely still a worthy title but it would have been even better had there been more time between releases and some much needed improvements were made.
-
Jan 10, 2011A perfect product for all the fans of the firts chapter: questing is sometimes too easy, cooperative is lacking depth and some polish is missing, yet it's still a ton of fun.
-
Oct 21, 2010There's a bit more quest variety, but that's really about it in terms of changes. So, if you're itching to get your hands on more DeathSpank, Thongs of Virtue is more of the same, in the best way possible. It's just as well written and silly as its predecessor with just as much charm.
-
Oct 21, 2010This second chapter is still brilliant and entertaining, but the formula obviously does not change. So, if you have already finish the first Deathspank, you can wait a little and see if the price drops.
-
Oct 21, 2010Quotation forthcoming.
-
Oct 21, 2010Sure, the poop gags are a little wearisome, but a sprinkling of the old Gilbert magic makes it a worthwhile ride.
-
Oct 21, 2010For the perfectionists out there, there are tons of missions to accomplish and most gamers will never have to touch a fortune cookie.
-
Oct 21, 2010Some minor improvements to the formula, but the dull combat remains an unresolved problem in this lighting fast sequel.
