Jan 25, 2011Despite its strong charm, Deadly Premonition lacks in so many areas that it's hard to recommend it even to the more forgiving gamer.
-
A larger budget might have saved the driving physics and improved the experience of the town, but no amount of money could repair the terrible writing and wrong-headed design that really sink Deadly Premonition.
-
Deadly Premonition lacks a lot of things to be a good game. It needs a well defined gameplay, good control and a better pace. Its technical flaws are even more obvious. But it hides something interesting in its story, its narrative and some loose ideas spread through its design.
-
Deadly Premonition is brave, maybe even heroic, but in the end is also a bad game... a horrible game to be honest. The bizarre story and its sandbox possibilities can't put out of sight its awkward gameplay concepts and embarrassing controls.
-
Awful in nearly every way. The Twin Peaks meets Resident Evil with a dash of Grand Theft Auto formula sounds pretty great, but it was well beyond the capabilities of this development team. Terrible controls. Terrible pacing. Terrible sound effects. Terrible visuals.
