    The second Crown hunt on this three-part DLC for Dark Souls II take us into a Tower of doom, death and fire. There's nothing new under the sun -the puzzles where in the first DLC-, but this vision of the descent to Hell is certainly demanding, and with rewards if we're curious and explore a little. And if we survive to this big fat kill massacre that we enjoyed so much.

    Even though the Old Iron King's gameplay twist isn't as meaningful as the one in the first DLC, and one of the bosses a mere copy, this is still a restless, disturbing march into the deepest of depths.

    The settings of Crown of the Old Iron King are both fantastical and relatable, but nowhere near practical. Gigantic suits of armor hang inexplicably under elevator platforms, hinting that humans10 times normal size once protected Drangleic.

    Crown of the Iron King didn't blow me away, but it's a very nice zone that feels like a natural extension of Dark Souls II, and it's meaty enough to feel like a real DLC and not just a bonus area.

    If you liked the first DLC, than you'll love this one.
    It has more of that great level design the other DLC had, but also more weapons and    If you liked the first DLC, than you'll love this one.

    The two new bosses are awesome, and quite a challenge.
    Big enough to feel like real DLC, but I still wish these Crown chapters were bigger/longer.

This DLC is based around close quarters combat and corridor fighting, so if that is your preference it will suit you. However there is very little atmosphere, mystery and dynamic design when compared to the first DLC. This is essentially the Old Iron Keep again, with 3 terrible bosses. I didn't feel like it justified my $14 this time round.… Expand
