Jul 28, 2014Crash: Mind over Mutant is one of the best games of the Crash series. Activision goes out of the platforming realm to make a fun Beat-them-up adventure game, with a nice graphical style and huge challenge factor.

Sep 10, 2022Whilst the game does get pretty repetitive, it has plenty of variety in the already dull beat-em-up style of gameplay. The mutants have much more uses to the platforming sequences and the compact style side cutscenes made great use of their limited budget. Definitely the greatest Radical Entertainment video game and 1 of the only 2 post-naughtydog masterpieces.

Mind Over Mutant isn’t a bad game. In fact, there’s a lot of it that’s enjoyable. I just wish the effort that went into a lot of the peripheral action and non-interactive videos had also been put on the gameplay, to make it more entertaining overall. It’s just not very consistent in its fun generation.

Sure, Crash: Mind Over Mutant doesn't reinvent the wheel, and there's no way it's vintage-inspired gameplay can stand up to modern titles. But, it still manages to be quite fun, and it's worth a spin if you have ever played (and loved) a past Crash game.

The story is also flimsy and not interesting. Mutant is still a great game for kids and achievement junkies, but this series needs a reboot for anyone else.
