X-ONE Magazine UKBased on longevity, this would receive about 500/10. [Issue#52, p.105]
-
At the end of the day, this certainly is an enjoyable download, and value for money. Honestly though, I can't recommend it to people with PC's. The download is huge and it's not the best introduction to the series. Who does that leave?
-
Official Xbox Magazine UKExcellent value. [Dec 2009, p.106]

The only issue that stuck out like a sore thumb was that the magnetism of the cursor was poor and three options to change it didn’t help either. For only 800 Microsoft Points, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3: Commander’s Challenge has plenty of replay value for offline players.
-
If battling with (or against) attack dolphins and scantily clad lady snipers wasn’t already your thing, you’ll want to steer clear of Commander’s Challenge. However, if you’ve been a supporter of this silly-meets-strategy series in the past, then, well, we probably had you at “psychic Japanese school girls.”
-
Taking what is arguably the most compelling segment of the Uprising pack and releasing it on its own, players will have hours of play ahead of them as they work on and refine their strategy to dominate the three factions of the Red Alert Universe. However, they'll also have to deal with a less than perfect control scheme, a lack of unit information and visual issues to enjoy these strategy brainteasers.
-
If you have enjoyed Red Alert 3 in console, there is no reason for not buying this expansion. Not recommended for newcomers.
-
While it’s definitely missing a few features that could’ve extended the shelf life and fun factor of the game, Command & Conquer fans will easily get their money’s worth with Commander’s Challenge. Anyone looking to scratch an RTS itch through their Xbox 360 won’t be disappointed either, especially considering the hours and hours of gameplay you’ll get for the delightfully cheap price.
-
Official Xbox MagazineBut for $10, the price is alright for this fresh slice of strategic goodness. [Holiday 2009, p.81]
-
Commander's Challenge is a game that requires a tremendous amount of patience, skill, determination, trial and error, and plenty of luck.
-
One of the best console real-time strategies in a smaller, easily digested (or at least afforded) form.
-
Even with its problematic moments, Commander’s Challenge has hours of tough and intense gameplay to offer console owners with a hankering for more Red Alert 3 action.
-
I will be the first to say that an RTS game on a console is not the best platform for this genre. But the Command and Conquer series has been one of the best for the console thus far. Real time strategy games are some of my favourite type of games to play but sadly this version feels more like an add-on. Not that that’s all bad, but I was expecting more for the 800 MS points.
-
Those who are fans of Command & Conquer might even be left still hungry for more while newbies will be confused all together.
-
Xbox World 360 Magazine UKThere's too many options and too much going on for a console controller to handle. [Christmas 2009, p.119]
