This is just another side by side example of Activision fueling up their cash cow to start mooooving along more money for their pockets. MW3 is revealed and only can ask each other WHY? Blizzard and Diablo 4 when they felt the presence of Activision when they took over was an instant destruction of some of the TOP games available & top developers. World of Warcraft, DEAD. Overwatch 1 ( you paid for it and it was actually ok. They kill it and release OW2 that's free, but completely garbage just for money cash cow.) Diablo series, a complete flake. D2R was released with the old team and had real potential to revisit a great classic with new life breathed into it; until Activision got involved. Then D4 is a perfect example of destroying a game and looking to just take peoples money. SOMETHIING has to give with these big box guys not releasing games for endless fun with your friend and the content in a game. They are releasing highly priced video games with mediocre content that can be blown through very quickly leaving a dry bitter taste in your mouth as a gamer.,

my favorite modern warfare. this is basically a fixed mw2 but in my opinion way better. the story is a step down but the multiplayer is super fun with the customization, maps, and the player icons. and spec ops is the best part with a survival mode. survival is kind of like zombies but with less things to do. and spec ops missions can be multiplayer and a lot of missions.

The campaign is the sad but perfect story end for this sub-series. Makarov. **** Gets it. Every one was devastated when "Soap" died and the twist of Yuri being there the whole time was phenomenal.

The biggest thing about MW3's development was that most of the original Infinity Ward Team left to form Respawn Entertainment, that original Infinity Ward development team would go on to make the Titanfall Games. Since that team left, the developing cycle became shorter for the making of MW3 going around 6-8 months which was the shortest COD Game development cycle. But, Infinity Ward still was able to conclude the Modern Warfare Trilogy in a pretty good way.

The Campaign was amazing since it actually wrapped up the real story unlike with Black Ops 3 which didn't take place after BO2 and it didn't follow-up on your decisions from the BO2 Campaign.

Spec Ops was brought back from MW2 making new missions, an endless survival mode, & a brand new mode called Chaos Mode which is a Quick PVE Mode where you chain kills to score as many points as possible before time runs out. MW3's Spec Ops was a big step-up after MW2 but its still not better than Treyarch Zombies.

MW3's Multiplayer didn't stand out that much compared to the rest of the Modern Warfare Trilogy but we still got new features like Specialist Kill-streaks (which can transform the players into super soldiers by giving them all of the perks) & community game-modes like All or Nothing & Infected. One significant change about MW3's Multiplayer was the Season Pass because it was sold like a big Battle-Pass for 12 months and it didn't have 4 DLC Drops like Black Ops 1. The system was dropping new Maps & Game modes like the Face-off Playlist (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, & Hardcore 3v3), the overall Season Pass really shook up the game a lot. MW3 Multiplayer also has the most overall launch content having over 50+ Guns to use & 16 Maps to play on, it has the best launch multiplayer IMO. Overall, if the development cycle was longer than it would've been originally, it would've been the best game of the Trilogy.

I don’t understand why this game was so hated. It might look almost the same as MW2, all the mechanics might be the same, but taking the newer games into consideration, MW3 deserves a lot of praise.

Campaign- Great story, mission locations and atmospheres are very diverse compared to the last 2 modern warfare games. Characters very memorable as always in the MW trilogy. A fitting end.

Special Ops- A drastic improvement from MW2. IW and Sledgehammer packed loads of content into MW3’s spec ops. 16 missions, survival and chaos made it a lot of fun. Multiplayer- I’m not gonna lie, the multiplayer maps are pretty mediocre. But solid weapons and killstreaks keep you invested in it. And amazingly, micro transactions aren’t blown in your face! The developers had the ‘if you want it, go and earn it’ kind of attitude back then.

Oh boy, Modern Warfare 3... I was very excited for this one. Once it was announced back in 2011, I just knew I had to Pre-Order it... But once the game had finally released, I was a bit disappointed. The game is literally the same as Modern Warfare 2, the User-Interface looks the same, many of the weapons are just taken from Modern Warfare 2, and they really destroyed the Nuke in this game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To be completely honest, I really don't think this game deserves the hate it gets, I might come off as biased since this was my first AND favorite Call of Duty game in the series, the reason why I enjoyed this title so much was not because of the campaign or the multiplayer, the spec ops mode in Modern Warfare 3 was one of the most enjoyable and satisfying spec ops/survival modes I've ever played in a Call of Duty game (next to zombies of course). The main argument that people use to describe this game is that it is strikingly similar to MW2, that might be true but you have to remember that even the best games such as the Fallout franchise, have their similarities with each title, the only difference being that there are a few improvements sprinkled in. MW3 itself has some notable inspirations taken away from MW2 and some much-needed improvements, the third-party modded game modes such as infected, were added into MW3 as an official community game mode and this might be one of the only Call of Duties in the franchise that has taken ideas from their community and put them into practice. The survival mode is an amazing example of improvement to MW2's spec ops mode, the MW3 survival mode is nothing short of fun and exciting (even more so with a friend), there is a lot of strategy and tactics involved in MW3's survival mode in order to chew through waves and survive for as long as humanly possible, not to mention the many unique strategy-oriented community game modes, which adds an extra layer of complexity and thinking to MW3's game modes and overall gameplay. Just because I have a lot of good to say about MW3 does not mean it is safe from criticism, for example; the campaign was a bit of a downgrade from MW1 and 2's campaigns, as MW3 simply didn't take as many risks and narrative techniques as the 1st and 2nd MWs, however, the characters were written really well, especially the main villain, Makarov, we were able to see just how sadistic and evil this character really was and in MW3 we got to witness his satisfying downfall which was a dramatic but much needed and satisfying ending to the Modern Warfare trilogy, MW3 also took the heartbreaking approach in the narrative, by killing off arguably the most popular and loved MW1 and 2 player character, soap, this obviously devastated and infuriated die-hard MW1 and 2 players but it was ultimately a clever way to tug at your heartstrings. So overall the campaign was decent and well written but was ultimately not as captivating and exciting as the previous campaigns in the trilogy. In terms of normal multiplayer, IT WAS in fact almost a carbon copy of MW2's multiplayer, however, it was still very enjoyable and could pass as a solid and tolerable multiplayer on any given day. I've had fond memories of this game growing up so this review might be a bit biased but overall this game has its downsides but it is nowhere near being a "bad or mediocre game", the more often you play it, the more you come to appreciate it's gameplay, simplicity, and it's complexity alike. Anyone who is a fan of the franchise will be getting exactly what they expect for their money. The campaign is as action packed as ever but even at just four hours long it became a bit of a chore to play through as it offers little that hasn’t already been seen in previous entries in the series. Other criticisms that could be levelled at any Call of Duty game, such as an over reliance on scripted events and sections with infinitely respawning enemies, also still apply here. On occasions it is easy to get wrapped up in everything that is going on but for me these instances were the exception rather than the rule.

Online multiplayer has also changed very little aside from a few new perks. The maps themselves are however rather disappointing this time around, none of them are downright poor but none could really be considered a true classic in the same way as Crash or Overgrown from previous games. In fact there is a distinct lack of variety in the maps with none really offering the opportunity for sniping or long range combat (although some may see this as a good thing I suppose). The Special Ops missions from Modern Warfare 2 also return and provide a good selection of challenging co-op game. In the end, despite the fact that the formula is now starting to wear a little thin, it seems as though the majority of people aren’t disappointed with Modern Warfare 3 as sales yet again reached record numbers.

I've always felt that this is the Call of Duty game that has the most replay value due to one vital component that has kept me coming back to it: Survival Mode.

Everything else is forgettable re-dos of MW2, but Survival Mode and the new Missions from the Special Ops mode will certainly keep me open to jumping back into what I would consider my favorite game in the series!

Modern Warfare 3 was one of my least favorite call of duty games. I loved Modern Warfare 2 and think that it is one of the best call of duty games ever made, but I felt like Modern Warfare 3 deviated from the spirit and gameplay of Modern Warfare 2. The maps weren't done well, the guns felt over powered at time and I never really had much fun. That is why I will give it a 6.1.

This is the worst of the Modern Warfare series, but still a good game. Felt like they over-reached for a shock moment, and the story telling is not as fresh as it was for Modern Warfares 1 and 2.

Modern Warfare 3 is a massive disappointment on almost every level within the context of the previous games and not those that would follow. Based on how MW2 ended it's campaign, there was going to be a inevitable sequel, but I was very concern with what that sequel would entail. The campaign was just a mess of plot holes, little character development and railroading of epic proportions for its big action moments. A convoluted multiplayer system that retreaded back much of what Black Ops established on top of numerous problems, a survival system that was lazily tacked on to try to be like zombies but fail almost miserably and a spec ops system that was still good, but still had the same problems MW2's version had and was never fixed. I did not think the reverb from Black Ops to MW3 would be so loud that it would make me tone deaf, because the noise of everything the game was trying to throw at me was just completely exhausting to listen to. The commercialization of the game was far more important than the game itself as far as I was concern.

To fair however, I still had fun with the game. a 6/10 is often seen as a failing grade in the mainstream media of critics and players, but I thought MW3 was decent, alright and/or okay. It did still have cool campaign moments that made it feel like a big dumb action flick, the spec ops was still good and some charm was found in pockets on the multiplayer. It's just a dam shame again that it sunk so low on quality and the idea of war just doesnt exist. It's completely barren from the game's entire being. It might have a war in the background, but the feeling and pacing just eradicates any sense of the idea. MW3 is not a bad game, but not really a good game. Just my view though now looking back as a adult with a critical mind.

Although Infinity Ward created some pretty fun filled Call of Duty games in the past. Modern Warfare 3 is a step down from the original modern warfare games. This one isn't as inspired or creative as the first two games however this doesn't make it a bad triple A shooter game. As even with its weaknesses Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 remains a strong video game.

Campaign: My initials thoughts for Modern Warfare 3's campaign was fun, explosive and big. And I got exactly that. When I stepped into the campaign of Modern Warfare 3 I was greeted to one of the best Call of Duty Campaign openers. I loved how fast and explosive it feltI loved how the game didn't run to far away from its Call of Duty style. I loved the story and the way it is told. There are somethings I was disappointed in with the campaign. The main thing would just be how it feels to much like its trying to be a film not a video game. However set that aside Call of Duty MW3s campaign is almost as good at Modern Warfare 1 and 2's campaign

    Campaign: 8/10

Multiplayer: Although Call of Duty is mainly known for its explosive multiplayer I felt as if 2011's Call of Duty felt too similar to MW2. TOO SIMILAR. The map layouts were very similar and even the graphics didn't look any different. The weapons were the same and the multiplayer mode just felt like it was MW2's original Multiplayer however they decided to scrap it and throw it in to MW3. However the multiplayer can be fun if you really enjoyed MW2's. It isn't anything new however its still an exceptable addition to Call of Duty MW3.

    Multiplayer: 6.8/10

Survival: Survival is the newest addition to Infinity Wards Call of Duty MW3. And it may as well be the strongest. Survival mode is something new and something unique. Adapting from Zombies treyarch formula the game made a third mode and mode that was especially fun to play. I found myself enjoying Survival mode alot. And that it was very fun with friends. This was an addition to MW3's Call of Duty mode that was probably the best. Making it Infinity Wards next go to third gamemode. I feel as if they should bring back Survival mode for their next call of duty. Its fun and feels innovative. Unfortunately the gamemode doesn't have an actual story so you just run around random maps shooting hoards of enemies. Still very fun.

    Survival: 8/10

Verdict. 2011's Call of Duty was the first weakest addition to Activisions growing Call of Duty franchise however it still came out to be a funfilled and enjoyable experience.

    Pros:
    -Good Campaign and Story Telling
    -Really Fun Survival Mode
    -Multiplayer Mode adapts from MW2

    Cons:
-Weak Multiplayer, too similar to MW2.
    -Game Breaking Glitchs

    Overall: 7.6/10

This is one of the most disappointing games I've ever played! After the masterpiece that was MW2, I expected MW2 on steroids, but instead I got this crap! The worst part of this game is, by far, the Campaign! The campaigns of both previous Modern Warfare games are legendary! The story is dumb, generic, and forgettable. What's worse is it doesn't feel like Modern Warfare at all, until the Third Act. After Soap dies, the campaign actually has weight, but oh my god!!!

The multiplayer is laggy as hell, and the maps are terrible! They nerfed some of the best guns from MW2 including the UMP45, Barrett 50Cal, and ACR! WTF! The IMS is ridiculous, the graphics are worse than MW2's, and maybe even the first MW game! The spec ops missions are lazily tacked on, but Survival mode is a nice addition, IMO.

It's not a bad game, but the hype and disappointment is why this game gets such terrible reviews!

It's mediocre, forgettable, dumb, and basically a copy-paste of MW2 but with more BS, like the IMS, Juggernaut, etc.

By the way, the original Dev team that created the previous Modern Warfare Games were either fired or quit! The new Infinity Award team is a bunch of noob developers! After this game, DO NOT BUY ANY IW COD AGAIN!!

when you shoot someone with a sniper there's to many hit markers. not only that there's too many hackers on-line which spoils the gaming experience because they get high prestige levels and all the guns. the only good thing about the game is the survival waves where you have to shoot the enemies and one juggernaut in the first round. and the ending where Markov dies.

Once again Sledgehammer and Infinity ward has farted out another lackluster Call Of Duty title, Modern Warfare 3, MW3 barely improves upon MW2, the HUD is exactly the same, the guns are exactly the same, and the campaign, is kinda interesting, but not enough that you'd want to slog through it. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. To be honest, I really wanted to like Modern Warfare 3 as much as I loved Call of Duty 4. The multiplayer is phenomenal, yes, but...it feels exactly like Modern Warfare 2. There was nothing new to it that really matters other than weapon perks that could be added along with weapon attachments, and some of the new attachments are nice. I especially loved the hybrid sight, but unfortunately, that didn't make up for the lack of change. The weapons are cool, yes, but, again, they're near identical to the weapons of the previous game. And I don't mean in looks, I mean in the roster. The new weapons were nice, yes, and I especially loved how they brought back the G36C, as it was one of my personal favorites of Call of Duty 4. But the changes I saw just didn't change the fact that I felt like I was playing Modern Warfare 2 with a partial makeover. And I haven't even started on the short, lackluster campaign that had little to no real surprise points to it. And its attempt at shock and awe with the bomb attack that killed the little girl was, well...not shocking in the least. What would've been shocking was actually watching her get gunned down or sniped or something, rather than she's there one second, and the next, there's an explosion. You want shock and awe? Try the scene in Call of Duty 4 where a nuclear device detonates, taking out an entire Marine battalion at least, including the character you play as. Now THAT'S shock and awe. Some may disagree, of course, but that's my opinion. The fact that it could be beaten within six hours makes it even less appealing. I know I'm not the first to say this, but games that aren't dedicated to multiplayer, such as Team Fortress 2 or Blacklight: Retribution, can't stand on multiplayer content alone. The only reason I'm giving this game a 4 rather than a three or a two is the Survival mode, which I actually enjoyed. Other than that, nothing really impressed me about Modern Warfare 3, which was a huge letdown. Expand

Modern Warfare is back with a bang. This time developers Sledgehammer team up with Infinity Ward, bringing gaming’s elite together for the third instalment of the Modern Warfare franchise.

Previous release (MW2) gripped players through endless multi-player action online, and (some of the time) the accompanying campaign mode. Modern Warfare 3 dives straight into the action and Russia is on America’s doorstep threatening invasion.

Soap and Price are back and with the help of Frost, Nikolai and new guy Yuri (to name a few). Primary antagonist Makarov is back too, hijacking the plane of President Vorshevsky and kidnapping his daughter Alena to add leverage to his insane bid to gain launch codes for the Russian Nuclear Arsenal.

I was taken back by all the gunfire, explosions and attention to detail brought forward in MW3, and while the game engine is still the same as before, buildings, characters and scenery all looking amazing. The cut scenes too are well done bringing the story to life with verve and drama.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3Campaign Mode is all gripping, tense and thrilling. Spanning over several months, from land, air and sea with a vast array of weaponry, non repetitive objectives and an easy to follow heads up display. Difficulty changes are noticeable calling players to use a deeper tactical approach if Veteran is your forte.

Co-op Campaign is still a no-go and something the game is really missing. We do though see the Special Ops Mode return, with less stars to collect down from the pain staking 69 in MW2 to a more manageable 48.

As single or co-op, the challenge based missions are a test of abilities to up the ante of player skills. In conjunction a new mode makes a debut, Survival Mode.

One or two players against waves of increasingly difficult AI enemies. What is different is enemy spawn, it’s all calculated on the tactical position of the human player (finally no fixed spawn) to ensure players are on high alert at all times.

Guns, ammo and special support upgrades are available and unlockable by use of “cash” earned through time. Special select guns are also only available in this mode to either entice or annoy gamers.

Last, but by no means least, is the world renowned Call of Duty Online Multi-player.

Now with a more in-depth take through connection via Facebook and joining the ranks is free to download ELITE, a new aspect giving resemblance to Combat Record (Black Ops). You can view and compare stats, forge clans, news, tournaments and tons more. There is also a Premium upgrade option for all the hardcore to unlock more in-depth content.

In play weapon XP & level XP all act as a unit to keep gaming rewarding, unlocking weapon add-ons and perks. MW3 is a big improvement on MW2 with noticeable changes and differences across the board and I will be playing this game online for some time to come.

Big debates about which is best, MW3 or Battlefield 3 (its main rival) will go on for a long time, but MW3 has enough going for it to keep you enthralled in its grasp at least until the next installment is released.

It is "okay" at best and I supposed that's why this game gets so much **** from gamers (I mean, it's what made CoD so famous). Taking these two modes into account, it's a 6 or 7 out of 10. But let's not forget the game's best mode, the co-op. It's like two modes in one; there are a series of 1 or 2-player missions like in MW2 and then there's a fun survival mode. MW3 lacks the iconic Call of Duty feel that we have become accustomed too. It feels at times like some cheap Call of Duty rip off, this limits it's potential and makes for an irritating lack of identity. The multiplayer maps are poor but the conclusion to the trilogy's story makes this instalment worth playing.

When the first Modern Warfare came out, it was a well received, game changing, revolutionary title. When the second Modern Warfare came out, it broke all kinds of commercial records and was critically acclaimed, even if it was nowhere near as innovative as the original. MW3 is another incredibly polished, endlessly fun title that may not change the series too much but is amazing in its own way, due to the fact that Infinity Ward encountered numerous layoffs, the firing of its leads and multiple legal troubles. The fact that it has come out as the fifth best COD title around makes it all the better and the fact that it broke even more records than the previous game has insured that there will be plenty more Call of Duty games to come from Infinity Ward.

The story picks up straight after the end of MW2, with Soap rushed to a hidden base as he slowly bleeds out. As the defibrillators crackle to life, the title flashes onto the screen. It's an atmospheric beginning and itt certainly sets up the dark, yet explosive journey ahead. If you have ever played a COD before, you'll know what to expect- multiple plot twists, bombastic set pieces, quick time events... The thing is, it is possible to become emotionally invested in this campaign as multiple characters die and Makarov's end game comes to light. He is truly one of the scariest villains in all of gaming and the armed forces fight to stop him is noble and long (even if the campaign is only 6 or so hours). The acting is still fairly impressive and the level design is linear, if entertaining. The set pieces continue to increase in scale and size as well. You'll engage in a thrilling car chase, a submarine take down and the destruction of the Eiffel Tower in a decimated Paris. It is like three Micheal Bay blockbusters wrapped up in a shiny disc and case. As per usual, the levels have multiple collectibles, varying difficulty levels and a few Easter Eggs so the replayability is still fairly high. The bite sized levels certainly suit this style.

The campaign may be fun, but come on! Most people play these games for the multilayer. A bunch of new modes feature and each one is fairly good. Infected is the real standout and the cat and mouse gameplay built into it makes it tense and rewarding, as you fight to become the last man standing on the map. The maps themselves are well designed and a few really stand out. Dome in particular is tiny, but can be drawn in comparison to Nuketown. It's a fast and frenetic map and one that has become an instant classic. However, there are also maps set in train stations and (of course) war torn villages. There isn't a truly bad map, with each one accommodating to various play styles. But let's talk shooting. It has barely changed from the previous games- in fact, I don't think it has changed at all. The controls and specs are the same, but the new weapons and gear help to change up the experience. It still plays silky smooth and is still buckets of fun. The customization hasn't really changed, with the same Create a Class and killstreaks systems and it keeps the renowned progression and levelling mechanics of the previous entries. There are plenty of options and a lot of content. In short, MW3 is essential if you're one to get addicted to multiplayer easy. However, there is one more section to sum up...

Spec Ops return and they are still challenging, yet addictive. There are multiple new objectives, ranging from obtaining kills, to completing a level in a time limit, to just making it through a section in one piece. They are still perfect for co-op play and split screen is great with a friend. The set piece moments and variety will keep you coming back and the online competition is ripe. But there is still one more mode within this section. While the Chaos mode is DLC focused, Survival is one of the best parts of the game. Many would say that it is basically Zombies with humans, but while the large maps, increasing difficulty, wave based system and starting pistol swing the pendulum into the middle, the levelling system, large amount of unlockables and character variety make it stand out as the more content packed mode. The ability to pick any one of a load of weapons also separates it and while money can be earned, it can buy more than weapons and can also buy you killstreaks and gadgets. Survival is the real standout part of MW3 and playing with a friend is almost essential.

MW3 keeps the money train rolling with an explosive and sincere campaign, brilliant multiplayer, highly replayable Spec Ops and an addictive Survival mode. What it lacks in innovation, it more than makes up for with content and fun. Be prepared to answer the Call of Duty.

A worthy successor to the Modern Warfare franchise, but not exactly trailblazing. The campaign was a nice book-end to the MW saga, and the multiplayer was serviceable. MW3's multiplayer introduced the "Specialist" system as well as the "attack" streaks and "support" streaks. These were big additions that have helped shape the CoD multiplayer. MW3 was a good CoD, it just wasn't the best.

I plan to give an honest review of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, I have seen very in the middle reviews, most are in the extremes of either 10s or 0s, 0 being the more prevalent. My review will be broken down in three branches, one for each of the three main sections of the game. As everyone else giving a review has pointed out, MW3 was built using the same engine was MW2, and because of that, the visuals aren't what you'd expect from the third game in series (I'm talking Modern Warfare series, not the Call of Duty series in general) . The graphics do look a bit more polished, but that is most likely do to the artists, then the engine drawing them. Campaign: I just finished the campaign on Veteran difficulty. The campaign in terms of story is by far one of the best I have ever played in the Call of Duty franchise, but that is not to say I couldn't predict it either. On the final missions, the music is so perfectly made for the scene that it boosts up what would otherwise be a lackluster finale to the series. All together though, the campaign took me for a ride that I will never forget, at the end of it, I did actually feel very entertained and amazed. However, the atrocities that has plagued every Modern Warfare game still exists in MW3, by which I mean, enemies will disregard their own safety to rush past your A.I teammates and charge for you, and only you. The enemies know where you are, and if in view will shoot only for you and not at your other A.I teammates. Your A.I teammates aren't intelligent by any means, even on Veteran difficulty they are terrible accuracy. Perhaps the most annoying thing though is the fact that the enemies will infinitely spawn from doors and behind buildings unless you continue to move up, if you sit back you eventually will die from running low on ammo. Special Ops:Special Ops was a new feature to MW2, and it was a brilliant innovation to the series, Infinity Ward and Sledge Hammer Games didn't break the imagine barrier here, they added their own version of Zombies, a Treyarch signature. MW3 has taken that idea and brought it into the Modern Warfare perspective by instead of zombies, it's wave after wave of increasingly difficult soldiers. They added a couple new features like being able to buy perks and artillery, but it isn't anything new to the franchise, it's a mix from Treyarch's zombies and GOW's Horde 2.0 fortifications in my personal opinion. The rest of Spec Ops allows you to either go in alone, or team up with a buddy to do a variety of missions taken from the campaign or specially created for Spec Ops and try and beat them for, both to earn stars (get all stars to get an achievement) and beat times set by your friends. Multiplayer: Obviously if you're buying a CoD game, you aren't just buying it for the story line, you are buying it to play some good old competitive multiplayer. As one reviewer put it, it looks and feels like MW 2.5, and I'd agree, I do feel like I dropped 60 dollars for new maps, that's about it. Sure you do have some new guns and perks, but that doesn't constitute the money I put down for it. They tried to do too much with the maps this time around, their are about five different ways to go to any one spot, or in any one alleyway you may be running down and the the chances that someone isn't waiting for you, or will spot you is low, and it gets aggravating very quickly. Two of my personal problems with the game are, they split up the Sleight of Hand Pro ability from Modern Warfare 2, and put it's base ability and pro ability into two separate perks. They also took out Stopping Power, my personal favorite perk, why I don't know, perhaps to balance the game, but even still the game is very very much unbalanced. There are definitively certain guns that are better than others, and without Stopping Power if it's a bad gun, unfortunately it's a bad gun now, because without extra damage you won't kill anyone. Lag is a problem this time around, I've shot at a guy with the same gun as me, only to hit him first, but still die because my other bullets didn't register. The Strike Packages are terrible and not thought through at all, the Support Package where your kill streaks don't reset on death is a nice idea, but bad implementation. UAV's are CONSTANTLY being called in a match, it's very aggravating, also stealth bombers are apart of the Support Package, I don't understand that implementation either. If the Support Package actually did only Support it'd be nice, but with stealth bombers and advanced UAVs, not using it when you know you can get at least 9 kills a game is stupidity. When you think about it, a new CoD has come out yearly with the same fast paced action formula, so the fact that the latest in the series didn't change much shouldn't be that big of a surprise to anyone. I'm giving it a 7 out of 10, for being what MW2 should have been. Expand

I honestly don't see why it has so many negative reviews. The campaign, characters, content, and graphics (of course, for graphics, keeping in mind when it was made) etc were all great and the game kept you entertained the whole way through. I grew to respect all the characters and enjoyed the missions you do with them. Very enjoyable experience.

All the COD games are the same: "Here, Have a gun and kill these guys, They're the bad guys because we say they are!". Terrible plot, Same as the old COD games, The company is just milking the franchise for more money.

The absolute, garbage, pathetic, excuse for a video game that is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 made me so infuriatingly angry that I have no choice but to give it a 0. Out of 10^10000000. I can't think of anything good from this game.

Honestly, I think that this is the second best cod game behind cod 4. It has a decent enough campaign, a fun spec ops mode, and mw2s multiplayer without all the be. No overpowered noobtubes, no commando, and no one man army. This game is great.

This game is the Call of duty title that started the whole "same thing every year" bit, and honestly, I can understand why:
-weapon diversity is awful. Almost every weapon can get a 3 shot kill, hurting weapon balance.
-many weapons were recycled from older games. Also, there is only one, count it, ONE new attachment, the hybrid sight, which nobody even uses. -maps are all grey and

-maps are all grey and blobish. They aren't horribly designed like they are in ghosts, they do feel kind if uninteresting.
-massive balance issues. The type 95, fmg9, ACR, striker, and mp7 dominate the battlefield. Nobody uses anything different. Also, the assassin perk is way to powerful, blocking nearly every type of radar and surveillance. Having every weapon be the same is not balance, its just makes anything with remotely different stats OP.

So yeah, If you have played mw2, you've basically played a toned down version of mw3. Can it be fun? Yes, but it feels like you are playing a mod rather than a sequel, and is to thank for the cod haters tradition of saying nothing has changed.

STOP DEFENDING THIS GAME! I see this one everywhere.People are calling it "so overrated it's underrated." Well i still hate it. I'm sorry, but the story was cheesy, the ending sucked, the multiplayer was far too glitchy, the mission objectives were stupid, and REALLY Activision?!! Survival mode to replace zombies?! Yet people still talk about this game like it's freaking MGS.

I can understand why people hate this game. However if you can manage to escape all the **** that is akimbo fm9s and dead mans hand this game is terrific. Fast paced, rewards good players (and sometimes bad players) and nice graphics. I recommend this game to all CoD fans.

Another lazy-effort money grab spit out by the CoD team. I'm probably about to peeve a lot of fan-boys, or as they're more formally known: 12-year-old boys who want aggression do to their frustration of puberty.
    PROS:
+The multiplayer is enjoyable if you're looking for action. CONS: -The story is wooden, stiff, stupid, and boring! Only a person with an extra chromosome could say it is

-The story is wooden, stiff, stupid, and boring! Only a person with an extra chromosome could say it is even kind-of interesting.
-The singleplayer guns are crooked and unbalanced in the campaign, as always.
-The community of prepubescent brats who need their mouths cleaned with soap. Really, no one is going to take your stupid game seriously if you have this community, so how about you remove voice chat - you'll probably decrease the suicide rate around the world.
-If you're playing on PC, it is a god awful port, like all CoD games!
-It is the same game! Why do people by this garbage! Play Black Ops, or MW2, or the best one - CoD 4, you wanna why? Because they're nearly the same team!
I wouldn't touch this game with a 10ft poll if you don't have it. Crap like this shouldn't exist...

Most trolled review score on metacritic, to have this game sitting at a 3 is a joke.

I give this game a 10 largely because it is the only shooter which has entertained me enough to play through the campaign more than once, and in terms of survival and multiplayer I clocked more hours on this game than any other on the 360 generation (splitscreen survival is great fun with a friend beside you) I feel like that is as good a reason as any for a top review but even if you don't feel it is worth that just ignore the ridiculously low scores and play this game it is well worth your time.

Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

Modern Warfare 3, while still an excellent thrill ride in its own right, feels far too similar to MW2 or even Black Ops for my taste.
  3. I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
