    As a PC player, this game has failed in every aspect. 6GB RAM requirements are bloated an unnecessary. There is terrible stuttering and framerate drops on high-end systems. Textures and overall quality is poor and not "next-gen" at all. Don't be fooled, these developers lied about this being next-gen.

    Allow me to explain. Extinction mode takes place of the typical Spec Ops mode, which for me was a huge disappointment, as I had always enjoyed Spec Ops more than Zombies or anything else. Either way, it's a decent alternative with aliens. I would give it a 7/10. Worth playing some, but probably won't be remembered much in a year.

    As for the online...yikes.

    The Connection:

    Overall decent. However, you will still experience lag, and may have trouble if you don't get a head start on the enemy by using perks that help you out-maneuver the enemy (becoming quicker, aim faster, flinch less). However I must say...where are these so-called "dedicated servers"? Grade: B

    The Maps:

    Unfortunately, this may very well be the biggest heart breaker of them all. 90% of the maps are MASSIVE. I mean massive as in, map sizes CoD has barely ever seen. And they're forgettable and terrible. The overall designs are poor. The thing is, there are no main hot spots for action. There are tons of windows, doors, bridges, etc. to keep out for. There aren't the typical three pathways, there's many pathways.

    Before this game, I believed MW3 had the worst maps by far. But this game takes the cake. The maps are downright forgettable and laughable. Grade: F

    The Spawns:

    You might be thinking to yourself that the spawns would be good because of the map size. I wish. Believe it or not, the spawns are pretty bad. There are times where you will spawn directly in someone's line of sight and you'll be gunned down instantaneously. Grade: D

    The Gameplay:

    I'll be frank. The gameplay sucks. Because of the large maps, everything happens at a snail's pace. There are tons of campers thanks to the massive maps and multiple areas to be ambushed from, as well as lots of soundwhoring, due to the Amplify perk that basically allows headphones users to hear just about everyone around the map. Quickscoping IS NOT gone, by the way. They lied about that.

    The support streak system is back with the assault streaks, along with specialist. They're relatively balanced, however the dog streak is ridiculous for a 5 kill streak. Otherwise the streak system is good. Also, if you liked rushing in the past games, forget about it here. The maps do not encourage fast gameplay. Sad, I know. Killstreak system grade: B Overall gameplay grade: D-

    The Modes:

    So they took out some popular modes like Search and Destroy, Demolition, and Capture the Flag, though they are apparently bringing SnD and possibly others back. There is Kill Confirmed, TDM like normal, a new mode called Cranked that plays SLIGHTLY quicker (but still at a snail's pace for the most part), and modes like Infected and Hunted, which are more BareBones like. They're OK, nothing special here.

    There is also the new Squads Mode, where you can team up against someone else's Squad, many times you are playing another real person, but your teammates and his teammates are just computerized bots. Taking on waves of bots brings back the Survival Mode of MW3 in a way, though it's not as finely executed.

    However, just about every mode plays too slow, thanks to the awful maps. Domination and Kill Confirmed use to play somewhat fast, but they play slow now. How lame. Mode grade: C-

    Leveling Up/Unlocking System:

    This system sucks in my eyes. The highest level is level 60. Once you reach this level, you may now start your first prestige on a second soldier, who may be male or female like your first, and may be customized to a degree, which is decent. You get a total of 10 soldiers, each of which can have multiple classes. The thing is, you have to re-unlock the stuff on your second, third, etc. soldier that you have unlocked for the first one, which makes for an annoyance. So if you have all the perks unlocked for soldier one, you have to re-unlock them for all the other soldiers, separately.

    Additionally, there is the Squads Points system. Basically, a weapon, perk, or otherwise will unlock automatically once you level up to a certain level, OR you can unlock it prior with Squad Points. The thing is, SP's take a long time to accumulate, and you level up V E R Y slowly in this game. When you first choose a soldier, you have to choose a class. You will be stuck with this weapon until you get more SP's, which is very annoying. So for those of you that liked the Black Ops 1 unlock system where you could pay for items, you will hate this. It will take FOREVER to unlock everything and experiment with all the weapons and perks.

    Unlock System Grade: F

    The Weapons/Equipment:

    The weapons are relatively balanced. The grenades are HORRIBLE though, even with Danger Close. They completely ruined those. Equipment include campy items again, and there are also campy killstreak rewards. Grade: C

    Literally within 30 seconds we turned to each other with alternately confused and sour looks on our faces. Within 5 minutes our sense of unease had blossomed into full-on aggravated bewilderment.

    Bewilderment turned to shock and rage when we finally decided to run Ghosts side-by-side next to Black Ops II. The graphics in Ghost are much, much worse. We were scientific about it we compared specific things: headlight to headlight, grass to grass, gun to gun. Ghosts is drab, pixelated, flat and grating to look at.

    So we pulled Black Ops II, and put in Black Ops I. Guess what? Even Black Ops was superior. Ok so surely, if we put in Modern Warfare II, Ghosts would beat it. Can you see where this is going?

    In order to find worse graphics than Ghost in the CoD lexicon, we literally had to stare down the barrel of a crappy circa 2008 World at War bolt action rifle. But at least Ghosts was demonstrably better than this dated pixelfest right? Sure...until we looked at the grass on the ground. World at War grass made Ghosts grass look like an 8-bit Nintendo acid flashback.

    If Activision is actively trying to murder the CoD franchise, they are really nailing it. This game is a corpse; unless you're a necrophiliac, or have a nostalgia for being nauseated by dated pixelated eye vomit, I would save the $60.    … Expand

    I agree its not the best in the series, but giving a game a 0 because of the few shortcomings and derivative gameplay is harsh. The game is really a 75 and was still a fun ride.

    It is extremely too easy to die has already been hacked and has a horrible multiplayer experience.     COD Ghost is precisely what I expected it to be. Instant gaming for the masses. Everything in this game is cheap and quick. The campaign is crap but who plays COD for the campaign. The multiplayer doesn't only feel like every COD thats been released for the XBOX 360.     Wow, COD really needs to look at all these reviews. My review is the Campaign, when you get to the end you realize you've wasted your time. And the Multiplayer sucks balls with Spawning. I think Imma go back to COD Black Ops 2.

Seriously? This is 2013) it seems like Infinity ward is more focused on making their maps look blown up so they don't have to do as much. If you feel like renting it then that's basically the only way I recommend playing this unless you find it for less than $20. In the meantime just play any other CoD game you'll enjoy it more and won't shell out $60 that could be used on a much better release.… Expand

    I really wanted to like this game. This is recycled garbage. I will still play it and beat it just for the gamerscore however this will probably be the last COD I buy. I am sick of the repetition and lack of story. It's getting worse and worse...totally unoriginal. The real talent at Infinity Ward is making Titanfall.

    No doubt one of the worst CoD games ever made. The first CoD ever made had a better ending than the entire campaign of Ghosts. I thought Black ops was bad but no thats even better than this crap. They should have just went off of Mw2 storyline but no lets make a entirely new CoD series. Lame!!! Im done woth Infinity Ward after this... Hello Battlefield!

    This is the most pathetic attempt yet in the CoD lineup. No creativity, nothing excitingly new, and most importantly, I feel like a bunch of the game changes aspects that were not broken. I don't understand what Infinity Ward was aiming for here, but it came up substantially short.

    -great character customization feature
    -guns are balanced, to those who argue, you can go online and see almost every submachine gun and almost every assult riffle being used. in MW2, all you saw was the ACR and UMP.
    -new tactical/lethal grenades.

    Things that are neutral (some players like it and some players dislike it):
    -pick 11 point system
    -variety of perks
    -knifing animation. it is very good but it takes far too long. you can knife someone for about 2.5 seconds and die, from another person, while knifing your enemy.

    things that are awful/majority of the players dislike:
    -a gun called the MSBS, which infinity ward won't make weaker
    -HUGE MAPS, I MEAN HUGE MAPS ABSOLUTLY GIANT MAPS. (this is comparing them to past COD maps.)
    -many maps are disliked throughout the community.
    -broken deadsilence, can hear footsteps even with it on. (competitive players dislike this.)
    -BARLEY SUPPORTS COMPETITIVE!!!
    (with BO2 being such a success with competetive call of duty, ghosts just kills it. they did not bring hardpoint back, they TOOK OUT capture the flag and replaced it with blitz. ((BLITZ IS NOT THE SAME AS CTF, NOT EVEN CLOSE))
    -NO THEATER
    -game started out with no SnD play list.
    -only 6 guns per category, some only have 4
    -NEW GUN CLASS CALLED MARKSMAN (overpowered guns that can be fired fast, can kill in 2 bullets and can scope in as far as a sniper. some dont have much recoil.)
    -DOG KILLSTREAK. oh my god this killstreak is the worse thing that has happened to call of duty. its a dog that is a 5 POINT streak. it runs around following its master. it can ONE shot people with its bite and is around 3 TIMES harder to kill than a person. A LOT OF TIMES IT CAN GLITCH THROUGH WALLS, SIT IN A CORNER OR BECOME INVISIBLE AND RE-APPEAR TO KILL YOU.
    -besides for the dog killstreak, most other killstreaks are bad and arent worth getting the kills for.
    -brought back the different pointstreaks per class.
    -did i mention how big the maps are?
    -leaning can be broken at times, bugs out and just keeps leaning back and forth
    -you have very little health. I MEAN IT. you can die from 2-3 bullets to the leg. 1-2 bullets to the head.
    -did i mention how annoying dogs are? it can take up to 10-12 bullets to kill one and YOU CAN NOT KNIFE IT (unless really weak.) YOU WILL GET A HITMARKER
    -you DO NOT pick up dog tags while knifing a player
    -LAST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, INFINITY WARD IS NOT LISTENING TO THEIR PLAYERS

    so, if you were looking for a breakdown of the game, you can read my big list of things that are wrong with the game. and i actually gave this game a rating instead of a 0. this game is better than a 0 because it can provide some entertaining moments.

    last thing, they spent SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much time on character customization, but you barley see your player in game. infact they spent so much time on it that they forgot to create better/more guns.    … Expand

The game is bad. It is a simple rehash of MW2 and 3 and adds NOTHING new to the table. The campaign lacks complete imagination and the online is dreadful and boring.     I tried! I really tried to like this game! Customizing your soldier and the new guns that they have to offer is a great addition to the new Call of Duty series. However, the multiplayer team death match modes rarely allow players to reach the kill limit because the maps are so big. Lazy effort put into this game by the creators people are hacking this game out of its mind and they are sitting back not doing anything about it. I have never had a problem with these guys until this game. if you are reading this and haven't wasted your money yet don't buy this game it is the worst $70 you will ever spend.

    This is by far the worst Call of Duty to date. The ranking system is awful, the maps are awful and the money system is awful. The game is nothing but a let down. I have had every Call of Duty made and wish I could say anything good about this one but I cant.

I'd rather play world at war than this. infinity ward used to have some good games like MW3 which I wasn't to big of a fan of on multiplayer but the single player was my favorite cod campaign yet. the campaign and online experiences are garbage....I couldn't even finish the single player for ghost

    The Game is terrible. Quickscoping still exists, and sniper rifles are even more overpowered because of the bigger maps. C4 throwing, Y-Ying, and pretty much every other exploit still exists. The only good things are the graphics.

The guns are overpowered, the maps are weird, camping is more annoying than ever, you die more easily, you cannot even run with the juggernaut, the games are so small, the graphics are absurd, and the destruction is ridiculous. This game is the worst game I have ever had the misfortune of playing. I wasted ten minutes of my life playing this piece of crap.

    There is not much new on the table. This game feels like leftovers with some dessert thrown in. It has a good story with it, but not everyone likes hooks at the end. They keep the same proven mutiplyaer with some goodies thrown in, but not enough to satisfy some fans. It is a decent game, but there is just not enough new or enough improvements for this to be a great Call Of Duty.

Yes, the improvement in graphics and minor aspects of gameplay are noticeable; however, besides an anticlimactic campaign with a frustrating ending, the multiplayer leaves much to be desired.     The story was pretty cheesy, and the multiplayer was pretty bad, as you would get killed every time you spawned, especially on Blitz.

Theses Battlefield sized maps causes people to camp with snipers. The gamemode Cranked doesnt make the game any better because the maps are huge and it can take forever to find person to kill before you die.This game is a huge disappointment.     No. Just no. This game was supposed to have all of this "Next Gen Gameplay." Well so far, I've seen none of that. This "Freefall bonus map" was supposed to have all of this levolution. The only levolution present is the occasional animation of the building falling, which in my opinion, isn't even levolution. Half of the guns in the game were taken from previous games and thrown in CoDNo. Just no. This game was supposed to have all of this "Next Gen Gameplay." Well so far, I've seen none of that. Half of the guns in the game were taken from previous games and thrown in CoD Ghosts with a new name. The Remington RS (ACR in MW3) is overpowered as usual. But! They've put in a new class of weapons, marksman rifles! Can you say overpowered much? These things are more overpowered than LMG's! No kick, two shot kill, huge ammo capacity. You can even put burst fire on it! LMG's are still very overpowered though, typical CoD. Riot shields are more overpowered than ever, using C4 and danger close. Now there are a few decent improvements, such as being able to customize your characters, but the levelution that was supposed to be very present, isn't anywhere to be found. You can get KEM Strikes (MOAB from MW3) in care packages now, making them less special. You can be a pro and go 25-0 while some other person is going 3-17, but he gets a KEM Strike too. The guard dog is insanely overpowered, as it takes three shots using a bolt-action sniper with increased damage to kill. There are also IED's, which are pretty much miniature IMS's that can be equipped as a lethal. You can no longer go prone to avoid IMS's as well, you here that sound and you go "Yup, I'm dead." The game feels exactly the same as MW3, even the sounds and animations. In a nutshell, this game isn't worth half of the money that they want for it. The campaign was honestly decent, and I'll give them props for that. That's really the only part of the game that doesn't make me want to rip someone's head off, along with extinction. Extinction is actually quite fun. It isn't like that promised "Zombie Campaign" that was promised in Black Ops 2. There is actually a strong storyline that you're forced to go through, unlike in Black Ops 2 where you just went through wave after wave and nobody really cared about the storyline. It's your typical CoD game, and that doesn't surprise me one bit. Not worth buying unless you're only in it for the campaign. The campaign doesn't make it worth $60, though.… Expand

    This game feels like a copy/paste of all of the past games in the series. I don't even consider new CoD games as new, just the past game with some tweaked maps and new guns. The big question is why are we shelling out all of this money when there are better FPS's that are free.

    Also what's with the abysmal frame-rate? This is coming from a person who can run Crysis 3 maxed out 110 FPS.

I'm not going to be one of those COD haters, because I generally liked some of the COD games, I even found them enjoyable for a couple of months, but this game is perhaps the biggest disappointment, As soon as I played the campaign through I couldn't believe what I had just played, it was terrible, there was no innovation, the gameplay was exactly like other titles and it's like they're not even trying anymore, the story was boring, the guns and gun sounds were basic and the characters were boring, not to spoil the story but I even laughed when Elias died because they tried to make it seem like a touching scene, but I felt no emotional attachment to the character whatsoever.
    Moving onto the multiplayer and it becomes even more terrible, there is no need to play any objectives, no incentive to do anything, boring maps and no music to have any atmosphere in the game at all. The COD series now has unfortunately become a cheap money grab, and IW have no need to change at all if we keep buying this crap excuse for a game, has to be one of the worst games I have played for a long time    … Expand

    For being AAA series quality is sub par. Sound is bad, the U/I is very rough and the game is a bore to play. This is unacceptable for COD. I'm not hating because it's COD, I'm hating cause it's poorly thrown together. It's all the little things that add up to make this game bad. We all thought MW 3 was bad...that game is leaps and bounds over ghost.

    It feels like I played this game 4 years ago. The netcode is broken, with folks rubberbanding and sliding around. The level design has taken a step backwards and the overall experience is..."lesser." I've played the campaign and I've played hours of the single player and I am done. Back it goes to Gamestop; I am moving on to Battlefield 4.

    I regret getting this game, its the same as mw3 just worse. They removed search and destroy, and the graphics look like a game from 2008! The single player is not even notable anymore, all of this is crappy and the only good quality is the extinction mode enough said.

    The only positive that came out of this game was a tested engine for Treyarch to capitalize on for their next iteration in the franchise. Save your money IW has gone to since its fiasco in 2010 firing the now vengeful squad making Titanfall.

    I was also very disappointed with the "customize your soldier", I was expecting something along the lines of rainbow six ,but it was more like GTA 4's customization options; barely anything to choose from.
    My major complaint though is the removal of Search and Destroy from pub games, I used to love playing Search and Destroy with my team, now its been replaced by this stupid search and kill confirm game type.
    The series sure went down hill after they fired West and Zampella. MW2 was a masterpiece, after that, it was the same call of duty trash. The series has officially died for me. Time to move on. Looking forward to Titan fall, which IMO is the true successor to MW2.    … Expand

    - IED (lethal item that has replaced bouncing bettys/claymores) and motion sensores(non-lethal weapon) have yet to… do what they claim to do for me.
    - Apparently they arn’t having dedicated servers for Xbox360..
    - Took away the ping thing when you look at scores.
    - ‘Sat Coms’ (replaced UAVs)… are sortof useless. The whole point of it is to have a UAV that’s placed on the map, instead of plying in the air.. however.. I found that they don’t do much in showing people on the map. And… they self destruct wayyy to quickly. What’s the purpose in putting in effort into hiding it well when they just blow up shortly after placing it?
    - Characters and models… blend in wayy too much. Both just look like a grey blob. Makes camping soo much easier cause it’s too tough to notice people sitting still.
    - I don’t know if it’s just me… but, there’s something off about how fast and easy it is to get killed.. For example, you seem to just die instantly, but then you watch the kill cam and see he pumped 6 or 7 shots into you and makes you wonder why it only felt like one.
    Conclusion: Skip this one. While trying to the make the game more ‘teamwork’ focused, Infinity Ward broke the simple fun COD game play I’ve come to love. Only way you’ll do alright and not get shot in the back is if you camp… yeah.    … Expand

    I have been playing COD since World at War. And I mean ALOT. I have to say Ghosts is the most disappointing. The multiplayer is horrible. Maps too big. No fun. Guns are stupid. Cheaters in it already. Hard to read menu screen. AVOID

    Weapons are a step back from Black ops 2, both handling and hit-feedback is the worst i have ever experienced.. almost every time I shoot at someone I look at the death feed to see if i killed the opponent or if i have to keep shooting... graphics on the maps are ok, but as previously mentioned everything else looks like it has been created in MS PAINT..by a 4-year old girl...

    We were looking forward to this new game coming out. We bought it yesterday and played last night. It was VERY disappointing. It seems like the game was not as advanced and fun as BO2 and the excitement and fun went backwards. We went back and started playing BO2. We are going to see if we can return GHOST today. Do not buy. You will be disappointed.

Yet another cash-grab that everyone just can't seem to stop falling for.     Guys what did i just played? I received copy for free and ghost ruins all cod series into pieces. Really shame into all gaming critics who made so high ratings, they all been paid by Activision for advertisement. Really disappointed by the game and all game critics wont trust them to review games again.

    Absolutely horrid game. Graphics are essentially the same as any previous CoD from the past 4 years besides a few upgrades, AI is still horrible, animations are better. Definitely not worth anywhere near even $5.
