Games Master UKFeb 9, 2013Tough foes make this the go-to expansion for high-level fighters. [March 2013, p.81]
-
Jan 15, 2013If the bulk of Borderlands 2 had you laughing till it hurt, then this DLC will certainly continue that trend. A couple of balancing issues with the new enemies introduced, however, will cause some headaches and encourage you to race through more daunting areas.
-
Jan 21, 2013Maybe the weakest Borderlands 2 add-on so far, but Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is still greatly enjoyable with lots of side-quest, boss battles, new enemies and monsters and an hovercraft-like vehicle that we wish we could have from the start.
-
Jan 16, 2013Full of humor, challenge and loot. Another great expansion for a great game.
-
Jan 15, 2013You'll laugh, you'll die, you'll blow the teeth out of a wandering Borok the size of a small camper van. Compared to the heights of Mr Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, with its masterful blend of Kayfabe jokes and sustained bar-fight intensity, Hammerlock can't quite match up. But it provides several great new reasons to return to Pandora, and that's enough to seal the deal.
-
Jan 15, 2013A slight step-down from the previous add-ons but sill leagues above most other DLC, even if the whole great white hunter shtick sometimes seems ill-advised.
-
Jan 15, 2013Unfortunately, the story feels just as half-hearted, and it's hampered by fast-travel locations and quest kick-off points that seem erratically placed.
-
Jan 15, 2013In terms of story, dialogue, and encounter design, this add-on pales in comparison to the rest of Borderlands 2. It's like the worst episode of a show you love -- it isn't quite bad, but knowing how good it can be makes it hard to get excited over.
-
Jan 23, 2013While Sir Hammerlock may simply be "more Borderlands 2," it could have been a whole lot more, and feels a tad unfinished.
-
Jan 23, 2013Enjoying Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is about managing expectations, about knowing what you want out of Borderlands 2's constantly expanding menu -- its strong suits are the subtle twists on combat and enemy behavior, exploration, farming, and a hidden raid boss that costs almost 100 Eridium to spawn.
