Oct 17, 2012Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty is what downloadable content ought to be: expansive and apart. It's instantly recognisable, but it experiments with many of the gameplay mechanics players are familiar with. It introduces carefully conceived and thoroughly realised new non-player characters, and provides an encapsulated encounter that any fan of Borderlands 2 would do very well to consider.
-
Oct 17, 2012This is a vast, generous offering: a true expansion from a developer that obviously cares deeply about its creation, rather than a corporate cash-grab mandated by the boardroom. More please.
-
Oct 18, 2012In all, it's a solid start to what is to be a promising roll out of Borderlands 2 DLC and it's an especially manageable adventure if you're level 15 or higher in your current playthrough (not counting raid bosses).
-
Oct 16, 2012Offers almost everything a Borderlands 2 fan might want in their DLC, but it all ends up being a little too expected to truly achieve ground-breaking status. Thankfully, some hilarious new characters and an impressive setting hoist the add-on content up to a level that makes it hard not to recommend to anyone looking for a little bit more of that sweet, sweet loot.
-
Oct 18, 2012If you've been looking for a good reason to go back to Borderlands 2, Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty is a great reason to do it.
-
Nov 3, 2012Laggy texture pop-in dulls some of the shine, and some of the more minor goofball characters are more intriguing than Scarlett herself. But you'll find enough charm, loot, and gritty challenge to merit getting some sand in your boots.
-
Oct 26, 2012Another juicy chunk of action, with a new cast of iconic characters, lots of new missions and even more loot-zilla. Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty needs yor help: what're you waiting for, Vault Hunter?
-
Oct 23, 2012Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty is an affirming example of the right time, the right place and, crucially, the right content.
-
Oct 19, 2012A textbook example of worthwhile downloadable content, with action that's just as good as the main game but different enough that it feels like a unique experience.
-
Oct 26, 2012There are some enjoyable moments and I don't doubt that the Borderlands faithful will enjoy what is offered as the visuals, continued humour, main story, and proven gameplay is evident here, it just seems to be a little less then what was established in the main game.
-
Oct 19, 2012In the end, Captain Scarlett offers pretty much more of the same amount of fun found in the core game, and it never really progresses any further than that.
-
Oct 18, 2012Delivers exactly what you'd expect: more Borderlands. So long as you're not an overpowered, max-level character you'll find hours of quests to complete, a host of loot to collect and plenty of pirate-themed baddies to send to an early grave.
-
Oct 18, 2012Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty delivers mild-mannered humor and a satisfying adventure for you to shoot and loot your way through.
