NickG.May 28, 2007Basically it's Dance Dance Revolution played on your controller. Both fun and challenging.

NickM.May 8, 2008Whilst not revolutionary, BBR is a fun game. Whether you like the music varies by taste, but I like the tracks. Definitely worth a try. Could also be worth getting if you already own a Guitar Hero guitar or the 360 dance pad.

JeffW.May 18, 2007This is a boring rip off of guitar hero / DDR without the guitar or dance pad!

YuriW.Aug 23, 2007The music tracks aren't great, but it's still a good game. It's comparable to DDR or Guitar Hero, but with out the accesories or price. It has satisfying achievements that make for hours of gameplay, but not much replay value.

Feb 6, 2021It’s a rhythm game, similar to Space Channel 5. It’s okay, it’s not terrible, but the levels get repetitive, and the music gets annoying after a while.

The simplistic nature of Boom Boom Rocket makes it easy to pick up and enjoy in brief chunks, but it's also roughly like playing "Dance Dance Revolution" with the controller instead of a dance mat, which, unsurprisingly, isn't too much fun.
-
A visual treat; even more so than its immensely popular "Geometry Wars." The tweaked classic tracks may not be for everyone, but at least they tie into the gameplay, making Boom Boom Rocket a very unique offering in the ever-surprising lineup of Xbox Live Arcade games.
-
While it never struggles to be entertaining, it never really stands out either, and ultimately proves rather forgettable. Worth a go, then, but you wouldn't write songs about it.
