Graphics are decent. Control scheme is hard to get used to and the follow-cam really can get you discombobulated in mid-flight. Too arcadey for the pure flight sim enthusiasts.

Good graphics, even with that one blurry line that shows up every time you turn. Easy, if not repetitive gameplay. The enemy fighters taunting you is a joke. How do both German and Japanese pilots say the exact same thing, word for word in English??? Probably worth a rental for the campaign mode. Online play is pretty good, but doesn't touch Crimson Skies.

Major let down. This is a decent game to play but not Next Gen Level. Save your $60 and rent it instead. Pick up GRAW!

THe single player gets annoying, but this game is really good in Online mode, Flying with friends is the best thing to come to xbox live in a while.

This looks spectacular, but man, the controls are just horrible. I've played 3 levels in the demo, including training, and shooting down fighters, bombers, adn bombing targets, and it's just infuriating to play. Games live or die by their controls, and the controls for Blazing Angels feel wrong. They're unresponsive, and counterintuitive. I'd give it points for the ability to swing around a target, if their was some height meter that said 'This is too low;'. But there isn't, so the first time you find out you are too low is when there is a bloody smear on the ground. Pfft. Another point: In the training, you have to dump papers on a church. A friend of mine gave up at this point in frustration,a s he found it impossible to drop the papers directly, despite the fact that he had the sights lined up. Sloppy, bad design. And if I hear one more clipped british tone going on about the Yanks, or one more midwestern hick slathering on a bout the limeys, I shall through a brick through something valuable. Expand

I think it's a pretty game and I actually the voice acting for the personality it gives the game, accentuated by the rich WW2 motif. However, the single player campaign relies on horrible recon missions. And since this is a flight game, the multiplayer is very bland.

Flying games are one of my favorite types of games. Blazing Angels for the most part is okay. The graphics are okay, and the story is mediocre. The one thing I truly love about this game is the control. Blazing Angels has one of the best controls I have played. Its simple, and it feels very smooth. I rarely find my some fighting with the controls compared to other flying games. AnotherFlying games are one of my favorite types of games. Blazing Angels for the most part is okay. Another thing that I really like about the game is the missions are fast and the game helps you in what your suppose to do. What keeps this game at like a 5 or a 6 is because with the story and the graphics being dull, the game does feel very boring at certain points and sometimes the game feels to easy. The game is okay, if your like me who loves flying games I recommend this game to you. Expand

The repetitive nature of the majority of missions soon takes its toll, and the primary motivation for progressing soon becomes the desire to see how nice the next level looks, not the love of playing the game. [Apr 2006, p.110]
  2. Graphic ho’s will also marvel at how Ubisoft Romania managed to make each frame of action look like a professional oil painting depicting the harsh but strangely beautiful skies of WWII.

Unwieldy controls and average graphics stall this flyer. But the game is certainly not grounded.
