With the arcade style you wouldn't think you would advance as a player. To my delight this was not the case. Working on becoming an ace. Great game.

You really can not judge this game from the demo. You have to play the game. Well balanced shooter with great control. The control I think makes it a little real. Heck, a real WWII pilot didnt have easy control and didnt have GPS you Ninnies! Anybody who gives this a low score did not play this game. Better than Crimson Skies.

The graphics and control is excellent. End of the positives. Now on to the negatives. There are subtitles across the top of the screen that can not be turned off. Very distracting. Since when can you hear enemy pilots taunting you in an airial combat game? I know this is an arcade type game but it's not supposed to be Sesame Street. The enemy pilots with the fake accents keep repeating the same few lines over and over again. It makes John Madden in EA's Madden NFL games sound interesting by comparison. In mission two I had to sink 3 destroyers. After I sunk the 2nd ship the screen switched to Frank's plane and I had no control over it. The mission ended with my failing to sink that 3rd vessel and Frank's plane zipping around my screen. Some gamers have reported completing this mess of a game but others have had the same bug that I encountered. Doesn't Ubisoft employ game testers? Luckily I got full credit for this horrid game when I returned it. Save yourself some time, grief and your hand earned cash and do not buy or even rent this mess. Expand

Graphics are decent. Control scheme is hard to get used to and the follow-cam really can get you discombobulated in mid-flight. Too arcadey for the pure flight sim enthusiasts.

Good graphics, even with that one blurry line that shows up every time you turn. Easy, if not repetitive gameplay. The enemy fighters taunting you is a joke. How do both German and Japanese pilots say the exact same thing, word for word in English??? Probably worth a rental for the campaign mode. Online play is pretty good, but doesn't touch Crimson Skies.

Just played all weekend. I was completely hooked the entire time and can't wait to get back home from work to play some more. I just can't get enough of that thrilling combat. The controls are very intuitive and tight. This is a great game and I'll be playing for a long time to come.

Very good WW II flight sim. Definitely more towards the arcade style, rather than a hardcore simulator, but a load of fun and challenging enough (especially if you're going for Ace level rankings). Initially, when I heard about the wingman system, I had my doubts, but it works well too. Definitely worth a look.

I'd give it points for the ability to swing around a target, if their was some height meter that said 'This is too low;'. But there isn't, so the first time you find out you are too low is when there is a bloody smear on the ground. Pfft. Another point: In the training, you have to dump papers on a church. A friend of mine gave up at this point in frustration,a s he found it impossible to drop the papers directly, despite the fact that he had the sights lined up. Sloppy, bad design. This game, surprisingly, has a hell of a story. You start out in England getting to know your squad. There's a pretty in-depth story behind each flyer - even your mechanic. There are 18 missions total, and each map, goal, moment of plot, etc, is well worth it. Most games just recycle their plot all the way through, dumb-down missions when they get lazy - the developers of this game knew what they were doing. This game is astounding.
