SuzyB.Mar 29, 2006With the arcade style you wouldn't think you would advance as a player. To my delight this was not the case. Working on becoming an ace. Great game.

TimA.Mar 25, 2006Dogfight doesn't need explaining; it's your basic Halo 2 deathmatch, but better. Well worth the rental or the buy.

HotM.Mar 26, 2006You really can not judge this game from the demo. You have to play the game. Well balanced shooter with great control. The control I think makes it a little real. Heck, a real WWII pilot didnt have easy control and didnt have GPS you Ninnies! Anybody who gives this a low score did not play this game. Better than Crimson Skies.

PhilM.Mar 28, 2006i"ve been playing flight sim games forever! this one really takes the cake. not only does it have control but it moves like a sophisticated arcade shooter! Ace in the hole.

[Anonymous]Mar 29, 2006This game proves that arcade styles aren't out of style. I miss the squad fights. everythings a fps shooter now. back to old school with the new technology.

ReelWorldApr 28, 2006Graphics are decent. Control scheme is hard to get used to and the follow-cam really can get you discombobulated in mid-flight. Too arcadey for the pure flight sim enthusiasts.

JamesL.Apr 4, 2006Well i liked it but it has like the worst voice acting ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its definetly fun but by no means by this game rent it.

JohnM.Apr 6, 2006Good graphics, even with that one blurry line that shows up every time you turn. Easy, if not repetitive gameplay. The enemy fighters taunting you is a joke. How do both German and Japanese pilots say the exact same thing, word for word in English??? Probably worth a rental for the campaign mode. Online play is pretty good, but doesn't touch Crimson Skies.

JesseRamosMar 23, 2006Major let down. This is a decent game to play but not Next Gen Level. Save your $60 and rent it instead. Pick up GRAW!

PatB.Mar 25, 2006I finished the game already, and I want a freakin' sequel. I know it's history-oriented, but there has to be a way. This is the coolest game I've played in a while. I highly recommend it.

JillR.Mar 27, 2006Just played all weekend. I was completely hooked the entire time and can't wait to get back home from work to play some more. I just can't get enough of that thrilling combat. The controls are very intuitive and tight. This is a great game and I'll be playing for a long time to come.

NeilV.Mar 29, 2006Very good WW II flight sim. Definitely more towards the arcade style, rather than a hardcore simulator, but a load of fun and challenging enough (especially if you're going for Ace level rankings). Initially, when I heard about the wingman system, I had my doubts, but it works well too. Definitely worth a look.

T.J.May 12, 2006THe single player gets annoying, but this game is really good in Online mode, Flying with friends is the best thing to come to xbox live in a while.

DavidB.Jun 11, 2006the v-o is on the horrific side; but other than that, this game is excellent! the exhiliration when taking off not just the first time; but every time never gets tired. the dog fights are outstanding, and the game truly shines on xbox live.

FredF.Mar 25, 2006This game, surprisingly, has a hell of a story. You start out in England getting to know your squad. There's a pretty in-depth story behind each flyer - even your mechanic. It's crazy... something you wouldn't expect from a game like this. It's smart, fun, and exciting. I recommend it to anyone who likes a good story and a lot of fun.

ArthurA.Mar 25, 2006The rental wasn't enough. I just got the game for the 360 and freakin' hooked.
-
-
KellyS.Mar 25, 2006The multiplayer is off the hook. Get it just for that, if nothing else. Otherwise, the single player has more missions than you can count, and the graphics are out of this world. Check this ish out.

TotalRecallMar 25, 2006Best WWII and "flight sim" game I've ever played. Even my grandpa, who flew planes in WWII said it looked realistic as hell when he saw me playing. This game rocks!
-
-
JohnD.Mar 25, 2006There are 18 missions total, and each map, goal, moment of plot, etc, is well worth it. Most games just recycle their plot all the way through, dumb-down missions when they get lazy - the developers of this game knew what they were doing. This game is astounding.
-
-
PeteT.Mar 25, 2006Hands down, BLAZING ANGELS has to have the best replayability I've seen in a game in quite some time. Addictive, smart, fun. Everything you'd need in a game.
-
-
FrankJ.Mar 25, 2006I've never seen a game set the tone so perfectly for WWII. Not too somber and nihilistic, but careful and alarmed. This game is truly a masterpiece. The fun factor plus the historical aspects equals a KICK ASS GAME.

-
JonR.Mar 25, 2006Plain and simple. It's a PERFECT game. A real joy to play. Anyone saying otherwise probably didn't play it and is repeating what they heard in some of the reviews from the guys that never like the good games. Get this one, you'll be sorry if you miss this one!

-
DarwinF.Mar 27, 2006This is THE WW2 dogfighter! Airial combat at it's finest. The controls are slick and the action is fast. This is the one to play again and again and again. 18 missions of total fun. And gorgeous to boot.

-
DaleF.Mar 27, 2006This one is a blast. I really enjoyed other arcade style air combat and thought I'd give this a try. Even better than the stellar Crimmson Skies, this is most likely the best game of it's kind to hit the market yet. Huzzah!

-
BenG.Mar 28, 2007I think it's a pretty game and I actually the voice acting for the personality it gives the game, accentuated by the rich WW2 motif. However, the single player campaign relies on horrible recon missions. And since this is a flight game, the multiplayer is very bland.

games(TM)The repetitive nature of the majority of missions soon takes its toll, and the primary motivation for progressing soon becomes the desire to see how nice the next level looks, not the love of playing the game. [Apr 2006, p.110]
-
Graphic ho’s will also marvel at how Ubisoft Romania managed to make each frame of action look like a professional oil painting depicting the harsh but strangely beautiful skies of WWII.
-
Unwieldy controls and average graphics stall this flyer. But the game is certainly not grounded.
