The game is fun. However, its sequel, Blacklight Retribution, is FAR ahead of it, plus Blacklight Retribution is free, and has a very HIGH, playerbase, unlike Blacklight Tango Down did.

Blacklight: Tango Down's main draw is the customizable weapons, which would be pretty awesome... if any of the attachments amounted to anything. Other than that, it's a fairly basic online FPS with clichéd story, ranks, level unlocks, different game modes, some varied (but boring) maps, and a single-player mode that nobody cares about. As a short-lived break from MW2 it works, but long-term exposure will highlight flaws. [Oct 2010, p.85]
  3. Depending on your patience, Blacklight could be the best fifteen bucks you've ever spent on a game, or a frustrating waste of cash.
