Games Master UKMay 27, 2012It's unforgiving to noobs. [July 2012, p.83]
-
May 7, 2012This is not a game for quick matches, but long sessions of play, but its gameplay is solid and can engage you until you reach Level 45. It adapts PC classics like DOTA or League or Legends to console, with simple controls and beautiful graphics.
-
Jun 1, 2012Awesomenauts isn't really a bad game. It's well built, holds promise for additional content and serves as a good primer to the MOBA genre. Unfortunately, the lack of players kills the product.
-
May 31, 2012It certainly gives a great deal in the first few hours. Though it's repetitive, the mechanics are solid and the concept itself works fantastically.
-
May 26, 2012AwesomeNauts is a great multiplayer game and although it lacks a story mode, the singleplayer practice mode is still compelling - despite a the odd AI quirk.
-
May 22, 2012Awesomenauts is the first MOBA side-scrolling with all the elements that characterize the competitive environment of the genre, coupled with a cartoon style with its own personality, with enough depth to become a game in which you'll want to invest your time.
-
May 14, 2012If you dig DotA and want to play a streamlined version of that game on a console, Awesomenauts will deliver big time. But don't be surprised when, well, you wind up never being surprised.
-
May 10, 2012A great mix of strategy and 2D platforming.
-
May 10, 2012Coordination between teammates seems to be pretty important, but otherwise I felt like each match hinged on whether or not teams could get momentum early and shut buy upgrades quicker.
-
May 1, 2012Awesomenauts requires patience, both to tolerate and enjoy it, especially if you're playing against high-ranked players with objectively superior characters. You get what you put into Awesomenauts, so be prepared to commit to it if you throw your chips in.
-
May 1, 2012This is a deep, engaging, beautiful game, a welcome alternative to DOTA and League of Legends for the console crowd.
-
May 8, 2012With its bright, cartoony visuals and easy-to-grasp concepts, Awesomenauts serves as a good introduction to the MOBA genre. While it might not have the longevity of a game like League of Legends, it's sure to provide hours of entertainment for anyone with the patience to endure some initial butt-kicking.
-
games(TM)May 17, 2012A thoroughly engaging title that easily satisfies any superficial desires. We were left wanting more. [Issue#122, p.114]
-
May 5, 2012Choose a lane, endure, upgrade, push, endure, upgrade, push, repeat. I forget, does familiarity breed contempt or content?
