I based my purchase off the one, lone user review here below me. It is not as good as it seems.
To start, I should say that this isn't a *bad* game, just totally forgettable. There aren't any (at least, none that I came across) game-breaking glitches, the collision detection is fine, and the physics feel good enough. The gameplay is decent too, and the controls are serviceable. It has more of an arcade racer feel instead of a racing simulator feel, so if you prefer how games such as Burnout control instead of Forza Motorsport, then this will feel good.
I find the missions to be generally uninteresting and not excitable. The voice acting is the same way; it's not laughably bad, but it's not very compelling. The vehicles that you can unlock are varied, but they take quite some time to get, and often times I just felt like I'd rather be back in the default car.
The graphics are passable. The car models and textures look pretty good, and the atmosphere also can be beautiful. The choice of environment of an industrial German city isn't particularly gorgeous to look at. There is so much dark red, grey, and cobalt that you will be wishing to be playing a more colorful racer. The damage effects of ramming into other vehicles are minimal, which is an area I wish they would have paid more attention to. The game's intro shows a lot of explosive wrecks, so I thought this was going to be more akin to Burnout, but I was mistaken - there weren't very many wrecks for me.
The music is, in my opinion, unambiguously good. It mixes the high energy that rock brings with the great melodies that electronic music has. It was easily the best aspect of the game. However, that's not saying very much since most racing games tend to have good, energetic soundtracks anyway. Unfortunately, no song in particular stood out, though I distinctly remember enjoying it.
In conclusion, I wouldn't call this a hidden gem. I'd call it a hidden mildly-pretty-rock that you find in a pile of other rocks. It's not bad, and I'm sure that there will be some people who enjoy it, but there are simply so many better options out there. The best reason to get it is so your Xbox 360 collection is a bit more varied, and so you can score some achievements.… Expand
