    A awesome game I like it many times I had seen this in the digital store and never really gave heed until one day I did and when I did I fell for the hysteria and wake of the game then I found out this story was 14yrs in the making and is connected to other franchises awesome game remedy are masters of there art

    Сюжет запутанный, вообще по началу не понятно где происходят "сумеречные" события игры, наяву или в воображении Алана.

    Сюжет запутанный, вообще по началу не понятно где происходят "сумеречные" события игры, наяву или в воображении Алана.
    Картинка не плохая для того времени. Действие слоу мо изменили по сравнению с Max Payne. Теперь это происходит во время уворотов, а не когда захочется.
    Враги как по мне скучноваты. Почти все, за редким исключением, это зомбированные жители городка Брайт-Фоллс окутанные тьмой.
    Геймплей немного изменился. Теперь для того что бы нанести урон противнику, надо "вывести его из тьмы" светом фонаря, а только затем расстрелять. Патронов теперь маловато, приходится искать и экономить.
    Атмосфера в игре есть, но лично мне она показалась жидковатой, в отличие от первого Max Payne где она была густой как сметана.
    Итак итог. Игра в принципе мне понравилась и я хочу попробовать её ещё разок на PS4    … Expand

    This game is one of my favorite Xbox 360 games for a reason. The gameplay is well thought out, the graphics are still good and the episode structured story is masterful. There are only few game studios that can craft interesting and thought-provoking games with the same quality as Remedy. Alan Wake is an underrated piece of art and a must-have for everyone.

    The story here is the absolute best part of this grown up version of luigis mansion.. told cross 7 hours and 6 episodes.. eveyr character in this wold has you intrigued, wanting to solve their mysteries… alan wake does suffer from pacing problems, but only slightly.. for the most part the pacing is great as youll get a nice calm beginning at the beginning of each new episode, until eventually its night time.. youll be taking on these dark ghost like ratures that like in luigis mansion, you have to shine your flash light on them to make them vulnerable, but instead of sucking them up, you blast them away.. going from lamp post to lmap post, healing yourself and getting to a checkpoint.. and levels here are super linear, but in a great way.. the game gets to the point in delivering you its experience, youre not running around not knowing what to do.. you know what to do.. where it is you have to go to do it.. and I love it.. especially with how games are now, obsessed with wasting your time just to say their game is 100 hours long.. its nice to play through a game with no filler… most of the game does take place in the foret, which brings me to the pacing problems… I do love that despit taking place in the same setting for most of the game, they manage to make the forest feel different enough each time youre in it… but I felt like youre thrown into combat way too frequentloy, and the combat is just so unfun how how often it happens.. again you have to flash enemies with yur flashlight before you can shoot them.. so youll be running around collectin nergizer batteries to try and blast their faces, but the batteries last like 3 seconds before they need recharged.. why would energizer want their named attachd to rechargeable batteries that die in 3 sconds… combat is just annoying and frustrating.. I also would run into issues after id collect the shotgun where the game would stop shooting, but I did play on pc.. cant confirm if this is a known issue on xbox.. but another annoyance I have with this game is how often alan loses all of your guns and ammo you spend time collecting… im the type of person to save my good stuff when when I need it.. in alan wake, if you have it, use it because for all you know youre about to get in a car crash for the 27th time and lose verything you have… youre constantly having to recollect your gear as the story plays out.. its annoying for again how ffrequent combat is..
    Ovrall though Alan Wake is a really special game with an amazing story.. it isn’t necessarily scary, but its erie and creepy, and definitely worth going back and playing.

It could have been an excelent horror movie, developing his history through episodes that remember us 'Twin Peaks' or some of the best thrillers from the nineties. The script has a lot references to horror literature or movies, so if you are a fan of this fantastic dark genre you will enjoy this one. Regarding theAbsolutelly recommended.     Un juego con historia excelente, de lo mejor y muy entretenida y pensada, te deja sin palabras la forma narrativa de Departure y como se relaciona con el juego. El apartado musical genial. Gráficamente es bueno pero no excelente y en la jugabilidad a veces se hace un poco repetitivo enfrentar a los enemigos.

    Videojuego con buena historia y ambientación, buena IA y fisicas aceptables para X360. Para mi valoración he tenido en cuenta la duración del juego y me ha precido algo corto ya que en mi caso lo he terminado en tres días. La complejidad de los puzzles no exige dificultad alguna y es algo por lo que valoro a la baja, a nivel general el juego es un imprescindible y estoy deseando que RemedyVideojuego con buena historia y ambientación, buena IA y fisicas aceptables para X360. Para mi valoración he tenido en cuenta la duración del juego y me ha precido algo corto ya que en mi caso lo he terminado en tres días.     My only complaint with the game—and I mean my ONLY complaint with the game—is that it was a little too easy. There were too many times when I ended the level totally stocked up on supplies, sure that whatever came at me I’d be totally able to handle.     With that being said, I loved the story (it was like playing a good Stephen King novel), the graphics were fabulous especially for 2010, the music was creepy and nailed the right tone, and the gameplay was based on good ideas and executed well (with the aforementioned caveat).

    Amazing game. Remedy continues their Max-Payne like dark style of story-telling. Great atmosphere , very alive cutscenes , considering 2010 HW limitations. Music , presentation , eerie sounds, everything feels alive. There are some flaws in combat system , but i easily forgot them , being caught by plot and "something-extraordinary-should-happen-right-now" feeling.

    i played alan wake on xbox game pass ... i don't know how they didn't make another part or second part of this game .... that game is amazing especially the story ... the story is very deep and u have to concentrate a lot to understand it ... soundtrack is frightening ... gameplay is good ( let is say 9/10) ... there is sometimes repetitive missions but doesn't corrupt the game and make iti played alan wake on xbox game pass ... i don't know how they didn't make another part or second part of this game .... that game is amazing especially the story ... the story is very deep and u have to concentrate a lot to understand it ... soundtrack is frightening ... gameplay is good ( let is say 9/10) ... there is sometimes repetitive missions but doesn't corrupt the game and make it boring ... final verdict 9/10.… Expand

    Played it in 2020. That was exiting experience: interesting storyline, creepy inventory and cool narrative. The gameplay hasn't aged well, and the control is quite poor, but it's a great game for all the game pass members.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Alan Wake feels like a Stephen King story with less complex horror and a little comedy. The game looks very good for a 2010 Xbox 360 game, although the character models look a little outdated. The story is a little confusing, but not as bad as Control's weird story. Alan's movement was better than I remember but the car controls felt stiff and like a PS2 game. Some of the characters that were there for comic relief were probably my least favorite part of the game, but some of the jokes they told were still pretty funny. Darkness being your enemy isn't a new concept, but Alan Wake makes it feel brand new, by making the darkness possess people from the town and turn them against you. Episode 6, the final episode of the game, was to get to Cauldron Lake but that pretty boring but felt rewarding when I beat it. The soundtrack is absolutely perfect, especially the original songs made for the game. I would highly recommend you to play this game.… Expand

    En lo personal a mi nome gustan los jueos de terror pero este en buenisimo, los giros en la trama, las incognitas, la musica y sobretodo las voces de lo personajes son increibles, al instante te identificas con todos los personajes que aparecen y te imactan las muertes de estos,lo estoy jugando en 2020 gracias al game pass y a evnejesido muy bien, no se sientes como un juego viejo, deEn lo personal a mi nome gustan los jueos de terror pero este en buenisimo, los giros en la trama, las incognitas, la musica y sobretodo las voces de lo personajes son increibles, al instante te identificas con todos los personajes que aparecen y te imactan las muertes de estos,lo estoy jugando en 2020 gracias al game pass y a evnejesido muy bien, no se sientes como un juego viejo, de hecho me gusta mmuchisimo mas su historia, personajes, musica y jugabilidad que la del Resident Evil 2 Remake.

    И Алан Вейк эталон мистического триллера, где в наличии и оригинальная подача сюжета, где флешбэки и    Кто бы что не говорил, но значок Remedy это эталон качества в жанре, и говорит он о том что вы как минимум получите классный сюжет и крутой геймплей, плюс очень плотную атмосферу и киношного уровня спецэффекты, во всех проектах Remedy, ни одну игру от Финов не обошли эти черты.

    И Алан Вейк эталон мистического триллера, где в наличии и оригинальная подача сюжета, где флешбэки и флешфорварды центральной истории проигрываются в воображение игрока параллельно событиям на экране, и это просто отличная идея. И геймплей, где каждая экшен сцена срежиссирована в ручную, и в каждой нужен свой подход к оружию и передвижению.

    Визуальная часть все еще выглядит стильно, работа с камерой и ракурсами отличная и за прошедшее время не состарилась, тьма, эффекты, локации и работа со светом все еще выглядят на отлично. Геймплей, сюжет и стиль это аспекты игр которые наименее подвержены старению, и игры Remedy обладают этими чертами. Макс Пейн 1 2 и Алан Вейк не состарились, в них все еще приятно возвращаться и перепроходить.

    Mi videojuego favorito de la generación X360/PS3/Wii. Lo recomiendo sí o sí. La historia atrapa y engancha hasta el final y difícilmente la olvidas sobre todo si amas el género Thriller/Terror.

    O jogo tem uma pegada dark muito boa, te envolve na história, tem inspirações do Stephen King o rei do terror, tem personagens interesssantes e a forma como o jogo é narrado é um show á parte, um ótimo trabalho da Remedy neste game.

    A twisty 3rd person shooter that combines The Twilight Zone with Northern Exposure. From the creators of Max Payne, the game takes the form of episodic television. It's a smartly written yarn with sharp graphics and enjoyable (if repetitive) gameplay. Fans of Silent Hill should get a kick out of this. I would rate this with an 8.3 out of 10.

    O jogo é sensacional, o melhor jogo da remedy que eu já joguei, isso é jogo bom e não aquele jogo fraco do quantum break e control, duas porcarias, era para ter feito u Alan wake 2 e não o jogo flopado quantum break, que não vendeu nada, pena que essa empresa incompetente, chamada Microsoft prefere fazer jogo lixo de baixo orçamento pra dar a 1 real no gamepass, lamentável

Alan Wake trata-se muito mais de um game de Terror Psicológico(e dos bons) do que um mero Call of Duty. Com uma história absolutamente fantástica e inovadora, e com um personagem extremamente memorável, Alan Wake não é só uma experiência aterrorizante e sim, uma obra-prima pouco divulgada.Para você que acha que Alan Wake é um game de tiro em terceira pessoa- está completamente enganado.     At first I thought it was just your regular horror game. But the way they tell the story and the game play is very intense. You are safe at the light and are in danger in the dark. Your only weapon is a flash light and a gun. You have to make do with what you have. Like reserving bullets and battery and such. When you don't have any battery the situation just got more intense.     For sure if you are into Stephen King's stories or Twin Peaks, this is THE game for you. A wonderful mystery thriller mixed with really satisfying action elements. After 7 years it's release I still tend to replay it every year. I truly hope Remedy will continue Alan's story as it left us with many questions unanswered.

    If you are a fan of games with great stories then look no further. Alan wake is in my opinion one of the best games released on the 360/PS3 generation. It's probably in my top 3. I have replayed Alan wake on many occasions over the years and always seem to come back for more. Remedy have made an awesome gaming experience here and I recommend it 100%.

That small-town feel is definitely present, with advertisements everywhere for the annual Deerfest, a cozy little diner, a backwoods trailer park and a “secluded” aura among the townsfolk. Mr. Wake is undoubtedly out of place on his vacation, as he and his wife call New York City their home. Massive mountains, dense fog, flowing streams and small storefronts are just a few of the highlights in the somewhat creepy town of Bright Falls. When a dark presence shrouds the place, Wake’s wife goes missing as he is thrust into a psychological thriller unlike no other, where he must save her and reclaim his sanity. The main cast of characters consists of Alan Wake, Alice Wake, Barry Wheeler, Thomas Zane, Barbara Jagger and Emil Hartman. Of course, there are several others. Aside from Alan and Alice Wake, we have Barry Wheeler, who is Alan’s manager and literary agent. He is a standout because of his sens of humor and screen presence. He is a fan favorite. Thomas Zane is a famous poet who visited Bright Falls in the ’70’s and former owner of Bird Leg Cabin, the location of Alan and Alice’s vacation. This character is shrouded in mystery and his face is never seen. Barbara Jagger was Zane’s lover and long-time Bright Falls resident. She died after drowning in Cauldron Lake (where Bird Leg Cabin sits). Emil Hartman is a psychiatrist who owns and operates Cauldron Lake Lodge, a psychiatric institution.

    Alan Wake’s presentation is impeccable with its TV-like episodic storytelling which moves along in chapters or “episodes”. We already talked about the excellent setting in the pacific Northwest. Gameplay centers around the idea of light vs darkness. Alan is usually equipped with a revolver, flashlight, some flares and batteries. The enemies are known as the “Taken” and are invincible at first, but when Wake’s flashlight hits them long enough, they become vulnerable and you are able to kill them. Since the Dark Presence has engulfed Bright Falls, your enemies sometimes become the townsfolk who have been consumed. The game has a perfect difficulty level. It doesn’t hold your hand yet at times it seems as if you may not have enough resources to get out of certain areas alive. You will rely on batteries and small amounts of ammo to keep you going. Combat and controls are great. Wake isn’t an athlete, he is a writer, so don’t expect him to run very far for long. You will have to time your movements and escapes well. The gameplay elements are diverse and engaging, as it’s all very fun and rewarding. There things to collect such as thermoses and manuscript pages (which tell you more about the story). You will also encounter televisions and radios that further engross you in the experience and enhance the storytelling. I especially like the “Night Springs” television show and KFB-FM radio. These little additions go a long way in the production quality of Alan Wake.

    The game has a brilliant audiovisual presentation. The awesome setting only makes it easier to love. The frame rate never falters, the lighting effects are second to none and the overall sound design is impeccable. I really enjoyed the music, radio station, horrifying and sometimes funny dialogue from enemies and the top-notch voice acting. Everything is so believable and lifelike. Alan Wake makes for a very likable and awesome protagonist too. Get ready to lose yourself in one awesome gaming experience!

    Overall, Alan Wake is nearly flawless and offers one heck of a good time. It’s like taking a vacation to the Pacific Northwest with a huge psychological twist that eventually turns into a flat-out nightmare. You get varied environments, a great cast, superb visuals and sound design, a cool setting and fantastic gameplay. All of Alan Wake’s strengths come together in what culminates as a truly engaging and unforgettable experience, one you will want to revisit time and time again. No one will really be getting cheap jump scares in this, it's all tension and a feel of oppressive terror.     The only downside of the game in my experience was a couple sections where the camera seemed to be unable to center on my character, leaving my open to attack, but the obvious answer of moving out of the corner worked wonders.

    Music was very appropriate and soundtrack available from the game menu will have you playing a couple of your favorites after you've unlocked them in your game.

    If you've bought a game like the Evil Within and felt disappointed, I'd highly recommend trying Alan Wake, it does everything right where EW went wrong.    … Expand

    A very effective horror game with a strong story. Many times when I'm playing it I shield my eyes because of its level of intense horror. The jumpscares are unexpected and the story is one of the best stories I've seen in a horror game. 9/10 (awesome)

    I really enjoyed this game. It wasn't all that scary and the story wasn't the most coherent, but it's one of those games where everything seems to mesh really well together. It's got a nice creepy Twin Peaks kind of vibe, fun combat, and a bunch of thermoses (thermi?) to collect. Certainly doesn't reinvent any wheels, but the wheels on this game roll just fine.

I replayed it surely 6 times, have over hundreds of hours of gameplay spent on it, have it completed to 100% even with the DLC and it's just fun to pick it up again after a long time and enjoy it all over again. I got it on the release day and expected and wanted it to be a 10/10 game. I was pretty disappointed when it was only an 8, but these things happen.

    My first impressions were great. The game looked pretty good and the setting and the atmosphere were great, plus I loved the Twin Peaks references. There's also the traditional Remedy storytelling, which as you might guess is something I greatly appreciate.

    Then the plot kicks in. You find yourself running around in dark forests chased by shadowy enemies than are sensitive to light (and bullets). The gameplay is solid enough, but here's where the problems start. It is, as almost all games today are, a tunnel. Aside from very minor sidepaths, there are no alternate routes or anything. This is pretty disheartening considering the game was supposed to have an open world. Not to mention only having a single path through an entire forest feels pretty dumb.

    Then there's the main character. In a traditional horror fashion, he's portrayed as slow and weak. However, the control scheme is simply too effective. After playing for a while, I realized not a single enemy can ever touch me. A few hours from that, I realized you can pretty much predict all the jump-scares by observing the environment. On a side note, upping the difficulty didn't make the game any harder for me. There are other issues as well, for example the game wanting so badly to be a TV show instead and the shortness of it.

    The plot was pretty nice overall. Even though I've seen other people complain about how it ends, I thought it was pretty fitting. I thought a more open like this is better suited for "a psychological horror" title anyways. The collectibles in this game also deserve a special mention. While there are maybe too many of them, especially considering most of them are really pointless, the book pages that give vague hints of what's about to happen next were a great addition. I feel I need to mention that the extra pages that only appear on the toughest difficulty were the biggest disappointment in the game, though.

    I may have voiced a lot of criticisms, but despite all that, I still played the game through multiple times, collecting everything and so on. It wasn't anywhere near a perfect product, but it was fun and the atmosphere was still great.
    As for the DLCs, while I think they offer some worth, I also think they're like DLCs usually are, which is to say boring. They do more of what the core game does, except everything about it is slightly worse.    … Expand

    Alan Wake is a very unique game, but also a repetitive one. It has one of the best stories I've heard in a while, and it's told in a unique way similar to television. Instead of doing something like missions or going from point A to point B, the game's played in episodes. There are six episodes and each episode is about two to three hours long. When you start each episode, there's a short cutscene that goes "previously on Alan Wake" just like you see on TV that recaps important plot points from the previous episode. The gameplay is good except for the fact that it can get pretty repetitive after a while, I thought that it was fun at the beginning but I got a little bored towards the end of the game. The combat was a bit too easy and ammo and other supplies were too common. I still found the combat to be satisfying when you killed all enemies and the game's brightness lit up and it went into slow motion for a short time and you could just watch the last enemy disappear. The story is what kept me engaged to finish the game. It would be easy to recommend Alan Wake to someone who likes a game with a great story, but not to someone who likes action. Either way, I really enjoyed it and I loved the story.… Expand

    Alan wake does what other horror games in this generation can't. It keeps you on your toes throughout the 12-15 hour single player. It's so well paced and well thought out that it will always bring you back for more.     Alan wake is a pretty good new IP and i like the idea behind it. You go to a cabin in the woods with your wife to work on a book and your wife vanishes and all hell breaks loose. The game has a nice creepy atmosphere being in the woods at night . The combat mechanics are fairly good . i like the idea of having to use your flashlight to weeken the enimys down before you can shoot them .Alan wake is a pretty good new IP and i like the idea behind it.     Alan Wake is by far one of my favorite games of this generation, maybe it can get a little repetitive but the story is so compelling that you just can't move from the chair, the graphics are awesome and the game play works well.

    Great survival horror game. Gets a bit repetitive at some times, but the story keeps the action going.Unfortunately the real story only concludes in the DLC, which is kind of an abuse, but it's a great game nonetheless.

Not to mention the combat system is based on the use of light. Although the story of the game is told well there is something that takes away from the cutscenes/storytelling. That is lip syncing. A lot of games don't have good lip syncing but in Alan Wake in just has an odd look to it. Some gameplay mechanics aren't very good as well. Such as jumping. It's good for clearing gaps but when it comes to jumping over something it is a little annoying and the animation doesn't look right even though the animations in every other aspect of the game is done very well. What more can you ask for from a game? There is a well written story plus good gameplay (with a little errors) and amazing looking graphics. This could possibly lead to one of the best franchises ever and I have high hopes that Remedy can strike gold with it if they put in the effort. I wouldn't say it is a must own but it is a should own game if you like great stories. 9/10… Expand

    After almost a year, I still think about the visuals and story of this game. It was a complete surprise and one I will definitely return to in the future. The DLC was interesting but lacked the feeling of the main story.

    I really liked this game. It keeps you in the dark, figuratively and literally. Not the scariest game I've played but it definitely has its moments. The gameplay is good, but be warned - it takes some getting used to. The flashlight combat is very unique, and satisfying once you get it down. The length is good, it's not a short game by any means. Personally I would have liked a Focus button that did not require me to hold it down for minutes on end, and a more alarming notification of enemies approaching from behind - though this is nitpicking really. I'm not yet certain where Remedy is going with the narrative, but consider me intrigued. All in all Alan Wake is a rarity, and its approach to episodic content reminiscent of television shows should be encouraged throughout the video gaming industry where fit. Much props to Remedy for taking their time to fulfill their vision, and perhaps it will help encourage the rest of the industry to take some notes on how originality is achieved - instead of having the only remaining ambition in this sequel-filled industry being the constantly reappearing selling point "bigger and better".… Expand

Also has 2 DLC packs for it to make it more interesting. This game will make you think and even probably make you play multiple times to understand it a little better.     One of the best unique gaming experiences on the 360. This game was a great experience and one of my favorites this generation! I would have given the game a 10, but the ending was kinda abrupt. But definitely great psychological thriller! I loved the atmosphere and humor!

If there is one thing that Alan Wake nails down perfectly, it is firmly placing the player within it's world, not letting go until the credits roll. While the game more or less sells itself on story and atmosphere alone, the are some relatively minor gripes with design and gameplay that hold it back a bit. The game introduces an interesting light mechanic, requiring you to dispel, usually through means of a flashlight, the darkness that surrounds the bulk of enemies found in the game. It adds a little something to the game that changes the feel of combat when compared to your typical third-person shooter. There is also a nice dodge mechanic, giving you a chance to slip out of incoming attacks, considering you time things just right. Overall, the action and gunplay elements of the game work well, and while the game itself is pretty straight-forward, combat feels very satisfying. That said, while the gunplay was handled rather well, traversing the environment can sometimes feel a bit clunky. Things like jumping feels more than a little off. At it's worse, the small number of platforming sections in the game can be a bit of a headache. For the most part though, the time spent navigating Alan through the world with sometimes be greeted with some awkward looking jumping animations. Also, your spring can sometimes be halted when making contact with walls, which can add unnecessary tension to chase scenes. Overall, Alan Wake is a fantastic game. There are a few noticeable issues, but most are rather minor. If you are looking for an interesting story and great atmosphere, this game is for you. If you are looking for a good third-person shooter, and can deal with a few issues, this game is also for you. Being one of the more interesting titles I have played in a long while, I can easily recommend this to anyone interested.… Expand

    This game sucked me in for three days... and I don't regret even one second spend in this masterpiece. It was like reading one of early King's works. Unique story, combat mechanics are enjoyable to (till) the end. Overall - 10 out of 10. There were some flaws, but that wasn't enough to spoil the fun.

The tiniest things in the enviorment such as electricity and light/flare effects look beautiful. Alan Wakes in-game character model looks very detailed as well. The story is about a writer named Alan Wake(LOL)who is suffering from writers block. He and his wife Alice are going on vacation to a small creepy town , Alice gets kidnapped, and he begins getting pages of a manuscript written by him that not only he doesn't remember writing, but is coming true. Now a dark entity has been unleashed and he has to find a way to stop it. As chece' as this sounds, the story is pretty damn good, with fascinating supporting characters like Alan's agent Barry, the FBI agent, and several others. The main character is relateable and likeable as well. There are plenty of twist and turns as well. The best part of Alan Wake however is the gameplay, it is so different than any other game I've other played. Now due to the fact that all of you're enemies are possessed by the dark entity, you have to use light to get rid of the darkness, then use your gun to finish them off. The only thing I don't like about the game is the ending, it is so bad! I am sick of great games having such bad endings. If you love video games and want something different, buy this game. You owe it to yourself.… Expand

    Alan Wake is finally here, and it's as good as we expected. Rich environments, great story, superb gameplay, many areas to explore, interesting characters... A great game that is not the ambitious project Remedy wanted it to be, but it's glorious anyway.

    While its not the generation defining game the epic development schedule might've hyped, Alan Wake is still a fantastic, 10-hour-plus play-it-on-the-couch linear action game - with brains required or not depending on your preference.
