    Granted, Ultimate Band is cheaper than competing music games like Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero: World Tour, and that would normally be a big plus. But when one considers just how much more game you get with those titles, how much longer they’ll last you, the savings isn’t really worth it.

    It's a fine idea, but in practice, Ultimate Band is a convoluted, inconsistent and inauthentic experience that emulates a phony lip-synching boy band more than a real rock experience.

    Ultimate Band embodies what I call the Grinch Effect -- unwitting parents buying terrible games that mimic popular ones, stealing Christmas away their children in the process. Kids, don't let the back of the box fool your parents -- make sure they know that you do, in fact, need instruments to rock.

    Looked cute, but brought my 9 year-old to tears of frustration trying to play. There's no "singing" in the game... just "frontman" Looked cute, but brought my 9 year-old to tears of frustration trying to play.     THIS is what elementary age kids should be playing instead of Guitar Hero! More age appropriate graphics and songs.
