If nothing else, this playful romp packs enough in-jokes for both Simpsons fans and gamers in general that it’s definitely worth playing through at least once.
-
In the end, what you are presented with is a very solid Simpsons title. Its humor, as stated, goes beyond just pleasing regular and hardcore Simpsons fans. So aside from the camera, the game is just find-diddly-ine to go on out and pick up.
-
Play MagazineUntimately, though, The Simpsons lives and dies on the strength of its gameplay and here it doesn't particularly shine. [Nov 2007, p.64]
-
For the two or three evenings that this will last you, there’s enough going on to keep you pushing forward to the end.
-
The gameplay is not the best of the best, but the creativity and wit that has been put into it does it all.
-
Official Nintendo Magazine UKIt'd be the finest licensed game ever if it wasn't ruined by the anti-climactic ending and an atrocious camera. Sadly, all the humour in the world can't really fix that. [Christmas 2007, p.70]
-
The chuckles along the way make it worth the trouble for fans, but if you don’t know Arman Tamzarian from Disco Stu, most of the game’s redeeming elements will fall on deaf, bored ears.
-
The Simpsons Game on Wii falls short of its next-gen brethren because of mediocre controls that cause unneeded deaths throughout the game.
-
When it comes down to it, The Simpsons Game ultimately glides by with its fantastic sense of humor.
-
Overall this a game that somehow manages to avoid the usual join-the-dots approach of other film franchises. Although it never quite lifts itself above a pretty average game, at least it proves along the way that it knew what it was and was happy to laugh both at itself as well as the games industry at large.
-
The Simpsons Game is exceptionally funny, but the hobbled Wii control scheme sucks out what little fun there was to be had with the gameplay.
-
The Simpsons Game is yet another lackluster licensed game. The difference is that this lackluster licensed game has The Simpsons writers and voice cast behind it, meaning that the humor and atmosphere in the game outright nails the source material.
-
Games Master UKIt makes us laugh, but this doesn't make up for the lack quality. Stick with the next-gen. [Christmas 2007, p.62]
-
If you’re just a casual viewer or not a fan at all, then there’s nothing in the game to warrant your cash. On the other hand, if you are a Simpsons devotee, then the pitch-perfect humor, writing, and look of this game will more than make it worth putting up with the standard gameplay mechanics.
-
n-Revolution Magazine UKIt's all a bit repetitive and distinctly unoriginal. [Issue#17, p.91]
-
Nintendo GamerNo amount of Simpsons love justifies sitting through this much clumsy mediocrity. [Jan 2008, p.42]
-
The Simpsons Game may just be the funniest video game ever, but funny is not the same as fun,and it's just not a very good game. I found myself wanting to finish the game just for the humor, even though I was screaming at the TV after falling down the 10,000th pit or when the camera showing me the wall again while i get killed.
-
Nintendo PowerIt's too bad the execution fails so miserably, because many of the ideas are great. [Holiday 2007, p.85]
-
It may have all the wit and style of the series, and Simpsons fans will no doubt love picking out all the references. With no effort put into caring about how the game plays, however, it means that you might not be able to actually play the game enough to get them all.

Jul 26, 2016The camera is very bad and the graphics are very bad they look like a PS1 game. Well the controls and gameplay is okay and the game is kinda worth it.
