Even with a few hiccups along the way, most of them technical ones in the Wiiware version of the game, the story and characters more than make up for any of that.

After wowing the crowds with the first four episodes in the Tales of Monkey Island, Telltale Games has rounded off the series with a hugely enjoyable adventure in Rise of the Pirate God. A fitting climax to a gripping five-chapter story arc.

The chapter's final thrilling moments ratchet up to a ridiculous crescendo in one massive action-packed confrontation between the reanimated hero, his re-reanimated nemesis, and a whole bunch of other bony folks.

I think this is the best episode of the entire season. The writing is great, the conflicts are interesting, the jokes are funny and the payoff lives up to the promise.

A very enjoyable conclusion to the Tales of Monkey Island story, and it won't disappoint anyone who's played through the rest of it.
