What's with critics saying stuff about the lack of strafing and moving and shooting at the same time? This is a RE game. You know, a horror survival game. And it excels in the important categories of gameplay, replay value, graphics, sound, story, and, price. A near perfect game that Deserves a purchase, even if you own the GC version.

RE4 Wii edition is a terrific game it was good two years ago at its release, and it hasnt lost any of its luster today. lets talk about the new control scheme very well put together. most wii FPS games have their glitches here and there but not RE4. its a terrific switch and works perfectly for the type of fast reaction game that RE4 is. However the graphics are still very good. even if they werent the storyline would still make anyone want the game. one last thing the nice thing is if you dont like the new control scheme just simply plug in a classic controller or GCN controller and play from there. -hope you found this reveiw helpful. This game is SWEET, as Peter from Family Guy would say. This is probably the first Wii game to really do the platform AND the controllers justice and is great stuff, it runs at a good pace, the difficulty ramps up evenly as you learn. The only gripes (and these really are minor things) are that you are too close to the main character as he walks around, so you can't see enough around This game is SWEET, as Peter from Family Guy would say. The only gripes (and these really are minor things) are that you are too close to the main character as he walks around, so you can't see enough around him, and the landscapes are very confined, you can go up to an area you can see flat land, but an invisible wall blocks you, so it's not truely free roaming. But those really are miniscule issues compared to the rest of a great game. Expand

My first system in over 10 years. My third Wii game purchase, and a great one. Haven't finished it yet but so far, I'm enjoying it.

RE4 on the Gamecube was absolutely astounding compared to its competition on the console (which was slim to none). The PS2 version added more replay value, but this port really shines in comparison. Even if you own the Gamecube or PS2 version, you'll find it to be a good buy. The controls are far superior than the originals, the game looks great, and the extra replay value RE4 on the Gamecube was absolutely astounding compared to its competition on the console (which was slim to none). The controls are far superior than the originals, the game looks great, and the extra replay value doesn't hurt. I ran through this game 6 times in a row when I finally got it on the Wii, even though I had the PS2 version before that. God bless (or damn) this game. Expand

I was not a fan of the RE series but gave this game a try because of the praise of it's iterations on the older consoles and the $30 price. This is the most fun I have had so far on the Wii. Highly recommended! Control is perfect. A must buy.

Buy it It's brilliant in every way, I was constantly crapping myself in the 20+ hours story mode, the merchant is a legend amongst shopkeepers and you get some awesome extras after you're done saving Ashley.

I agree with what was said in one of those reviews of the game. the Wii version is everything the Gamecube version wanted to be. controls fine-tuned to perfection, with the ps2 extras thrown in for good measure. I've owned it since day one, and every other Wii owner out there should too.....unless they're like 6 years old or something.

The controls are great and the game is very good. It uses some shooter features but maintain the essence of Resident Evil. This remake it's better than the original and It's a 'must have'.

The Wii edition combine the graphics of the GameCube version with the extra content from the PS2 port. It features motion controls that work pretty well once you master them. Resident evil 4 is an amazing game even 17 years after its release. I can't recommend it enough.

Although I haven't played what is to be considered the best version of this game, the Game Cube version, I still was able to enjoy this game for the first time on the WII. Now don't get me wrong, this game isn't perfect, but it is by no means at all bad. I will say that since I grew up with this game on the WII, I might be a little subjective when it comes to how good this version of the game truly is. This port to the game, was one of the most important ports of this game. In fact, this is the only version of the game that is set in 480p. I know this may sound bad, however, this games models can look pretty weird at a high resolution. So, in my opinion of course, I think that 480p is the perfect resolution for this game. When thinking after the resolution, there is still plenty of things that make this port amazing. For example, the quick time events weren't just the same old press a button. Instead, the people who made the port took time to implement motion controls. When it does come to the WII, I will say that the motion controls can be very hit or miss. However, I'm very happy to say, that the motion controls for the quick time events work very well. Now that I'm finished talking about the amazing things, like I said I could go on almost forever, there are some very opinion-based things that I personally love. For example, I actually prefer the motion control aim that's in the game. What's cool is that if you don't, you could even hook up a Game Cube controller to play it. The only bad thing I can say about this port, is I don't think that the cut-scenes were remade. Other than that, this port is an extremely fun experience of one my favorite games of all time. Expand

This game, starring Leon S. Kennedy for a second time since RE2, is a blast! There are more enemies than ever, brand-new ways to kill 'em, and all that in the comfort of your couch (or chair I don't judge). The controls are just a little clunky according to me and I had to use the pro controller to really enjoy my play through. That's it. That's the only downside of this game. Who could criticize the top-notch level design, the monstrous enemies and the scary yet intriguing story? And if you haven't had enough after completing the game, there is still a bonus story !
Resident Evil 4, Wii Edition is still a true classic that'll send shivers down your spine !

The best version of Resident Evil 4. Takes everything the Ps2 and Gamecube versions did and makes it better. Ashley sections are still annoying though.

Una auténtica obra maestra, jugabilidad, historia extras etc. Además de ser el primer videojuego en la historia en contar con la cámara sobre el hombro, la acción perfecta además de contar con una banda sonora mítica.

Though they suffer a bit when things get hectic, the Wii-mote-enabled controls generally serve RE4 well: Aiming weapons, swiping your knife, and shaking off face-sucking nasties with real-world moves adds urgency to an already incredibly intense experience. [July 2007, p.82]
  2. It has the looks, it has the compelling level design, and it has the scary bits. Check, then: this is Resident Evil 4 all over again, but slightly better.
