    Rapala: We Fish is not a good start to bringing the series to a younger crowd. The controls are counterproductive and the layout and pacing of the game are simply mediocre at best.

    All together, I didn't care for this take on the Rapala series, and I hope that if nothing else, the developers decide to give you a few more control options the next time out, or at least map the boat controls the analog stick.

    If you are looking for an objectively good game.... you won't find it here. But I think this is one of those games that, if you just sit down and play without thinking about the quality, then you'll have a pretty good time. I played this game to death as a kid, and loved it equally. As I grew older, the flaws became more and more apparent, but nonetheless I kept my soft spot for this game. I recently started playing it again, and that soft spot held up. The game is a good time still, even with it's clunky and unintuitive controls and design. The fish designs can be a bit strange, but I still find myself laughing at the animations and absurdity of the fish. The music as well - while nothing to write home about - is still pretty good and feels like it fits everywhere.

    I have to say the biggest complaint I have with this game is the multiplayer.
    DO NOT PLAY THE MULTIPLAYER
    It is awful, they squash the screen down to fit half of the TV, and the whole thing feels very squished and cramped. It makes the game feel unplayable.

    8/10 entertainment alone
    2/10 entertainment in multiplayer
    7/10 replayability

    It is an objectively bad game, but I still enjoy myself quite a bit when playing it, so if you're thinking of getting it, get it. It's like $6 on Amazon & eBay. But don't expect a good game, because you will be disappointed    … Expand

    -Controls are Stiff but make the character go 480 miles every second
    -PS2 quality graphics
    -Linear choices

    +Good Areas and replay-ability
    +some form of completion rate (albeit, its terrible)
