Order Up! offers up just enough addictive fun to make it worth your while. It's not going to unseat Cooking Mama from her culinary throne, but it is an entertaining experience that's perfect for a few rounds of bite-sized fun.
-
Order Up! will be entertaining and easy to learn for all ages. At an average of six hours to complete, though, it suffers from the lack of a multiplayer challenge mode.
-
Cooking Mama seemed like an insurmountable franchise at one time, but Order Up! has -- at least to this editor -- added just the right amount of gameplay spice to surpass the competition.
-
The overall presentation is slick and inventive, and the controls are pretty intuitive, if not always correct, but the real fun comes from managing your orders, assigning tasks to your AI partners, and creating more and more complex dishes for each new restaurant you obtain.
-
A fresh take on cooking games, Order Up isn't just another mini-game compilation. [Nov 2008, p.78]
-
As a whole, Order Up! provides a wonderful blend of both managing and cooking.
-
Order Up! Is a perfect example of a budget title done right.
-
The final sequence is so charming that it makes me wish there were more story cut-scenes throughout the game. As it stands, all of the light drama is mashed into the last 15 minutes.
-
Order Up will have you wearing your chef's hat, literally

My fellow IGN editors frequently stop by my desk to see what crappy Wii game I'm playing. After watching me play Order Up! for a few minutes, they all said, "Wow, I kind of want to play this!"
-
I really enjoyed Order Up! It had everything I had hoped for and was surprisingly fun. Unfortunately, it is just a single-player game with forgettable mini-games that can be torn through in just a few hours.
-
If you enjoy cooking sims, then you definitely need to check out Order Up. For all other Wii owners, Order Up is a solid weekend rental.
-
"Cooking Mama" does have more recipes than Order Up!, but it lacks that special ingredient that keeps me coming back for more. In fact, now that I've tasted what a fleshed-out cooking-game experience can really be, it'll be hard to go back to "Cooking Mama" -- I'll definitely be coming back for more Order Up.
-
Nonetheless, it's an entertaining, well-balanced game that provides a good deal of fun while it lasts.
-
If you love games like Cooking Mama, Order Up! is a must-get. If you don't, give it a try, because it may surprise you.
-
And while Order Up! is undoubtedly going to have a tough time going up against the upcoming Cooking Mama 2: World Kitchen, the fact that it comes at a bargain price should attract more than a few gamers to its tasty gameplay.

Nintendo GamerIt's short and fairly basic, but well presented. [Jan 2009, p.71]
-
Nintendo PowerOrder Up! might not be a five-star restaurant, but it still serves up a hearty meal. [Sept 2008, p.86]
-
Fun while it lasts. Order Up! makes the idea of owning and running a restaurant fun – even if the reality is a less riveting story.
-
AceGamezOrder Up! is an inexplicably fun affair and gamers with an uncalloused heart will find it difficult to resist its addictive nature and endearing charm.
-
Got charm for miles, and that’s a lesson many, many games could stand to learn.
-
Even though there are a lot of games like it, Order Up! really surprised me in the end as being very competent and fun.
-
If you have a Wii and are looking for a simple fun game to keep you entertained go out and rent Order Up! but for someone looking to buy this one won’t keep you busy for long.
-
Order up! offers both variation in gameplay, as well as interesting use of the Wii-Mote. The game is challenging, and thus entertaining for a while. It proves that casual games can be fun, albeit for a certain amount of time.
-
I applaud Zoo Games and SuperVillian Studios for packing a great deal of charm and humor into Order Up!, from the edgy style to the free chef hat.
