    Hands down, my favourite Wii game. The game is original, fun, at times, absolutely hilarious. The fact that No More Heroes doesn’t even take itself seriously is why this game is so unique. Every boss battle is memorable and the final boss, in the real ending, is arguably one of the most epic boss battles I have ever played in a game. Only reason why this game did not get a 10 from me isHands down, my favourite Wii game. The game is original, fun, at times, absolutely hilarious. The fact that No More Heroes doesn’t even take itself seriously is why this game is so unique. Every boss battle is memorable and the final boss, in the real ending, is arguably one of the most epic boss battles I have ever played in a game. Only reason why this game did not get a 10 from me is due to a few minor glitches but most of all, because I live in the UK and the PAL version does not contain the beautiful gory violence the other games have.     If you own a Wii and love hack and slash games, this is a must own. The game follow Travis Touchdown as he battles his way to the number one assassin in Santa Destroy.

    The game has a very cool cell shaded art style that has helped it age quiet well. The game also did a fantastic job with the Wii remote. Myself only have the Wii U with the new Motion Plus controller but it works great.
    If you own a Wii and love hack and slash games, this is a must own. The game follow Travis Touchdown as he battles his way to the number one assassin in Santa Destroy.

    The game has a very cool cell shaded art style that has helped it age quiet well. The game also did a fantastic job with the Wii remote. Myself only have the Wii U with the new Motion Plus controller but it works great. There isn't much as far as the motion control goes, you are able to aim high or low to change from a high a low stance which keeps things simple. The game also has a really cool retro game theme going on, a lot of sounds, visuals and themes play tribute to retro games.

    Some of the voice acting is cheesy and the game play can be repetitive. Most bosses are quiet similar with some variety with attacks, but all normal enemies are basically the same. You have three types. Unarmed, ones with a weapon (some type of pipe) and sword wielders. The story itself is pretty wacky, but fun. They did a great job with both the sound effects and music, I would like to get my hands on the soundtrack.

    Overall if you have a Wii or Wii U and really enjoy hack and slash games, this is a must buy, though they are a bit harder to find now a days.

    No more heroes gives us Travis Touchdown, a 27-year-old Otaku put into the united assassins association to defeat 11 other assassins, Helter-Skelter, Death Metal, Dr. Peace, Shinobu, Destroyman, Holly Summers, Letz Shake, Harvey Moiseiwitsch Volodarskii, Speed Buster ,Bad Girl & Dark Star. Each with their own specials and kinks, and all for a fantastic showdown with a two twist bosses.

Shinobu can jump, and her section contains some platforming elements, while Henry has the ability of making a quick dash in all directions by using the B button on the Wii-remote.

    The overworld from the first game is gone, and Travis no longer has to pay an entry fee to enter ranked battles, allowing the player to progress through the game more quickly. The minigames that Travis can do to gain money and become stronger are 8-bit style games, in genres including action, puzzle, and racing. Another feature is a "Deathmatch" mode, allowing the player to replay any of the bosses once the game has been completed.

    Great how the Wii remotes were used. A very simple story but you want to know more, charismatic characters, a fun gameplay, and graphically interesting. Maybe its weak point is the small and empty city through which we can travel its streets, it's not a GTA.

    It's a draft of No More Heroes 2, but I really loved it. Travis rules!
    Story, main character, old school menu and vision, it's one well done game!

    This game has a certain charm to it that is just hard to explain. The entire game feels ironic with it's narrative and jokes, but it was a great time with kickass music and enjoyable characters, but had a few issues with padding and fps

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. No more heroes represents the best gaming as an artform has to offer. Behind all the insane concepts, pop culture references and depraved humor lies a shockingly dark and intelligent meditation on the glorification of violence and how it is used in video games. It is able to create a framework for itself that makes even its worst aspects relevant and hard hitting. If you have the means to play this game you owe it to yourself to play this. Expand

    Simple: For the Nintendo audience, this was a tornado of fresh air. However, playing it now on the switch, there's no way around it: the mechanics of this game SUCK. Boring side jobs, boring repetition, clunky camera, clunky aim system, lifeless city, truncated controls all around. This game alone made me never again believe other user's reviews. All my time with this game I was reallySimple: For the Nintendo audience, this was a tornado of fresh air.     1) Hilarious 2) head bopping sound track 3) simple but intuitive controls 4) great art direction 5) tough but rewarding bosses

    Gioco di combattimenti piuttosto particolare, che sopperisce ai limiti grafici con uno stile artistico e un'inventiva fuori dal comune.
    Scontri avvincenti con i boss e ottima giocabilità.
    Un punto in più, appunto, per l'inventiva e i personaggi fuori dalle righe.

    I’ve always wanted to play the original No More Heroes games since I played Travis Strikes Again. I enjoyed my time with TSA, but I felt like I was missing out on the real experience. So when NMH 1 & 2 dropped on the Switch I was ecstatic and boy did NMH1 not disappoint.
    The story is... unconventional to say the least. It has a simple premise: You are Travis Touchdown and you have to kill
    I’ve always wanted to play the original No More Heroes games since I played Travis Strikes Again. I enjoyed my time with TSA, but I felt like I was missing out on the real experience. So when NMH 1 & 2 dropped on the Switch I was ecstatic and boy did NMH1 not disappoint.
    The story is... unconventional to say the least. It has a simple premise: You are Travis Touchdown and you have to kill the ten highest ranked assassins and your reward is nailing the woman who orchestrated these fights. There are several fourth wall breaking jokes and the story never takes itself seriously. I’ve been playing a lot of story focused games like Ghost of Tsushima, Last of Us Part II, and Yakuza 7. So to see a game that doesn’t take itself super seriously is weirdly refreshing. They even jokingly say that it won’t get a sequel, self awareness jokes are hit and miss for me personally, but Suda51 hits the mark on them.

    The Hack and Slash gameplay was addicting and as a huge wrestling fan it made me smile to see Travis pull off a Brain Buster and a DDT.
    I thought the graphics/art style complimented the tone very well. Don’t get me wrong I love games like Ghost of Tsushima and God of War that are known for their gorgeous scenery, but in my opinion sometimes having your own artistic style helps a game stand out more (like Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, I’m interested in it just for its aesthetics alone).
    I know a lot of people weren’t fond of the jobs, but personally I did not mind them as much. Except for the Scorpion and Mine removal jobs, those were just tedious. I think they’re a great way to prevent the game from feeling repetitive. Plus they get you money so you can buy clothes and more Beam Katanas to unlock the true ending so there is an incentive. That was one of my gripes with NMH2. All of the jobs were optional and you didn’t need them to participate in the rankings and I only used the dual wielding Katanas when I unlocked them so I didn’t switch them out. That’s how I noticed the game can be repetitive, but I’ll talk about that when I do a separate post for NMH2. Although I will say traveling to the job location was pretty boring, something that was fixed in the sequel, but again that’s for another post.

    Back to the Beam Katanas, my favorite would have to be the Tsubaki MK.II just because the design is so impractical, but I got so many multi kills in the “Kill 100 enemies in x amount of minutes” a classic “don’t judge a book by its cover” example.

    The bosses are some of the most colorful characters I have fought in a game. I often found myself coming up with new strategies. Like when fighting Dr. Peace I dodged/deflected bullets and rolled up behind him to attack. When I fought Bad Girl I didn’t even try to swing the gimps back to her (which sounds so weird now that I type it) or attack her when she was crying, I couldn’t risk it so I was patient, took my time, and attacked her when I was sure I had the right opportunity. Even Jeane was a whole other animal. The Beam Katana was useless and had to rely on melee attacks. So as far as battles go NMH has a wonderful series of boss battles. We only get to spend less then five minutes with them in the cutscenes, but they all standout with their over the top and eccentric personalities. Hell I could see some of them staring in their own games. How cool would a Destroyman prequel game be where he is the stereotypical hero, but slowly loses his mind as you progress. Or maybe Shinobu in a stealth/action spin-off.

    Lastly I want to talk about the performances. This in my opinion is Robin Atkin Downes best role. It’s thanks to him that I found Travis to be likable. Downes also shows the two sides of Travis: the nerdy otaku who just wants to be the best assassin in the world and the subtle honorable side of him who shows sympathy and respect to the people he killed (albeit he only shows this side when he kill woman). I also have to give a shout out to Josh Keaton as Destroyman. I think it’s funny that for a guy who’s well known for voicing iconic super heroes from Spider-Man to Green Lantern to recently Iron Man, he plays a parody of a hero in Destroyman who sounds like he is going to snap and go on a killing spree at any minute (although judging by how you meet him it looks like he already has).
    My only gripes with the game are small nitpicks. The aforementioned driving segments of the game was lackluster, but again they fixed that in the next game. Perhaps it just wasn’t meant for an open world style. My other nitpick is the camera there were a few times when it would get to close to me and the enemy which resulted in some awkward angles, but they weren’t really frequent so it didn’t ruin the experience. My last gripe (and again this is a nitpick) is that literally every time I got the cool slot power ups I only obtained them when there was only two enemies. Every. Single. Time.

    A very entertaining and fun experience that you'd never expect to be on the Wii of all things. The best part of the game are the characters. Travis Touchdown is an enjoyable protagonist with a lot of fun banter between himself and the other characters in the game. Sylvia falls into the category of "Mysterious characters that you can't stop obsessing over". Her past isn't explained thatA very entertaining and fun experience that you'd never expect to be on the Wii of all things. The best part of the game are the characters. Travis Touchdown is an enjoyable protagonist with a lot of fun banter between himself and the other characters in the game. Sylvia falls into the category of "Mysterious characters that you can't stop obsessing over". Her past isn't explained that much, which makes her all the more enticing to the player. All of the bosses have their own distinctive personalities and gimmicks that make each of them fun to fight. The world is so lively and bright with tons of things to interact with. But the thing that many argue over is the combat system. Many hail it as brilliant while others can't stand it. Personally, I belong to the former. I find it unbelievably satisfying to string up combos and slaughter hundreds of enemies. Overall, easily one of the most entertaining games of all time. Expand

    Similar but less gory than Madworld, No More Heroes has a mild sandbox element like a proto-GTA III in which you earn money by completing sub-games and side missions in order to access the ten boss fights that constitute the bulk of the game. And also like Madworld, it's rather shallow and repetitive but the stylish presentation and novel controls go a long way to make up for the fact.
