The game is a nice GameCube port and definitely worth its money (only 30 euro's). The controls are good and Donkey Kong lovers will recognize a lot of cool old stuff while playing!
-
Still a good game, but it’s lacking a lot of the charm of its original outing without the bongos.
-
A really good platformer that sadly somewhere on the way lost some of it's original identity. The wiimotes does not really replace the drums as well as you'd hope, but the overall design and gameplay is still appealing and satisfying.
-
It has more new content than any other New Play Control! game but this is still inferior to the original.
-
A very good platformer, that's the best description we can give you about Jungle Beat. The level design is superb and fits the combo-making gameplay perfectly. Even on the graphical side the game doesn't fail to impress. However, the experience is very short and lacks the very entertaining Bongo controller that made the Gamecube version so much fun.
-
Yet despite its innovation, the game gets old quickly and simply doesn't have enough depth to warrant much replay, turning the once-proud ape into just another goofy monkey.
-
The new Play Control version has no rhythm and no soul. Resolute players should somehow try to find the GameCube edition.
