Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is a remake of another great game of the same name. Being that it is a remake, it has to compete with its much more classic brother, and I think it did well. Being that it is a remake, it has to compete with its much more classic brother, and I think it did well. First, the positive aspects of the game. It had fresh ideas that no other Need for Speed game has like power-ups, a Bentley, a McLaren, a Maserati, numerous police car models, and a close relation to the originals. Also, a variety of cars was offered making it a sensation to any particular car buff. Second, the negative aspects of the game. The graphics would be amazing if it were Nintendo Entertainment System game, but for a Nintendo Wii game, they are disgusting. The whole customization feature is a train wreck the reason being is that the rims all suck and you have one choice of body kit; so basically the choice is take it or leave it (and anyone who's not brain dead would leave it), and the paint job was not thought out very well and not at all user friendly. In the paint job portion of the game, you have to use the Wii icon to aim and every time you press the A button, it hits right below the place where you want to click (because when you hit the A button, the Wii remote goes down a little because you are pressing a button) so it totally screws you over. There is no replayability to this game, and it is absolutely not worth the $49.99 price tag. With that money, you could order 5 to 9 large pizzas depending on where you order from. Anyway, I know that this game has a really bad rap, and I mentioned a lot more negative aspects of the game than positive aspects; but this game has really good game play, cars, and, best of all, fresh ideas (which these are why I rated the game an seven out of ten). Although, I would take the 5 to 9 fresh large pizzas over the fresh ideas of this game any day! Expand

Poor AI, limps physics, forgettable track layouts and a general absence of excitement. [Christmas 2010, p.59]

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit on Wii is a very poor excuse for a racer that feels like a slap in the face compared to its PS3/Xbox 360 cousin.
