I DID end up having fun with this but the sheer amount of moves to learn is overkill. Though it's a solid game once you know what you are doing and it is worth it to stick it out and learn thr moves, I just can't see a lot of people having the patience it takes to learn it and get good at it. For those who perservere though, this is a good game and you will enjoy it. Just try not to loseI DID end up having fun with this but the sheer amount of moves to learn is overkill. On the gameplay front, NBA 2K has a lot of work to do before its sophomore season. [Nov 2009, p.84]
  2. There's a good amount of content and game modes, but it's all based on the terrible core gameplay mechanics.

The vast discrepancy in the controls, coupled with the weak visuals and a non-existent online community don’t make this a strong first step for the franchise on the Wii. This is definitely one game that could’ve spend more time in college or the developmental leagues.
