Sep 28, 2011The Malgrave Incident is not only the best in the seek-and-find genre on Wii, but one of the best on the market in general.
-
Oct 7, 2011Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident brings you hours of puzzling. The puzzles are challenging and are complimented by atmospheric images and sounds. The Malgrave Incident is one of this years better puzzling games.
-
Jul 13, 2011An excellent adventure with just enough challenge to keep it intriguing without scaring off players looking for an engaging casual experience. Old school adventure fans will likely find the game to be a bit too shallow and easy, but casual gamers will appreciate the pace and polish.
-
Jan 23, 2012Has enough content to be worthwhile for crime fans or those who enjoy the hidden object genre. Just don't expect unlimited amounts of entertainment.
-
Nov 14, 2011The Malgrave Incident is a good opportunity to try a genre that has been something missing in the current generation of home platforms.
-
Oct 24, 2011While this is not an exciting or dramatic title, it is squarely aimed at a specific audience, and fits the brief well. Whilst it will definitely not appeal to anyone who enjoys action in their games, this will definitely have its fans somewhere out there, in our wide community.
-
Oct 9, 2011The Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident is a fun game for those players who enjoy hidden object games and considering that most games are alike on the Wii of late, this game does offer players something unique and fun.
-
Sep 16, 2011This is definitely a great mystery, with a variety of puzzles, challenges and laid-back gameplay. I wouldn't hesitate to increase this game's score if some minor problems were rectified.
-
Jul 5, 2011It's a title that anyone should be able to pick up and have a fun time with, whether alone or with friends or family, though the main mode's focus on repeating old seek-and-find segments as well as some bland puzzles along the way make the things feel, at times, unfortunately dull.
-
Jun 30, 2011Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident is a captivating mystery hidden in a sometimes frustrating point-and-click adventure.
-
Jun 28, 2011Its well-crafted point-and-click adventure format is a perfect fit for Wii, and shows that casual games can be respectable too. The presentation is lovely too.
-
Jun 27, 2011The island looks beautiful and creepy at the same time, helping take you into the world of the game. The creepy sounds of a door creaking or crows overhead don't hurt, either. The only real downside to the game are the "find-it" sections, which are numerous and repetitive.
-
Sep 9, 2011Decent puzzling in a compelling mystery, - a solid entry in a limited genre.
-
Oct 28, 2011The Mystery Case Files series on PC is pretty cool and a really good choice for hidden object fans, but the genre's debut on home consoles somewhat disappoints: not enough mini games, a lacking atmosphere and the Wii's control possibilities largely untapped. Casual fans will want more hidden object games on the Nitendo Wii, but they must be better and cheaper.
-
Jun 27, 2011Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident isn't a bad game, but it's not necessarily a great one. The game is led by a strong story and it takes a classic formula (Myst/7th Guest) and adds a bit of 2011 flavor to it. Regretfully, the game does throw frustrating puzzles and controls into the mix, which hurt the overall experience significantly.
-
Jul 27, 2011Overall, Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident is a solid attempt at porting the series to home consoles.
-
Aug 1, 2011Not too taxing, but well made. [Aug 2011, p.73]
-
Nov 1, 2011The Malgrave Incident is the second chapter of the series heading to consoles after the DS game. Unfortunately it's not as satisfying as the previous PC title.
-
Sep 29, 2011Investigation is sometimes good, but this kind of game sits better in a browser than it does on a home console.
-
Nintendo PowerJul 1, 2011Despite a few high points, you can safely file this game under "not bad, but entirely skippable." [July 2011, p.88]
-
Sep 29, 2011This installment in the Mystery Case Files franchise will appeal only a small niche of players but even in that case the overall quality of visuals and gameplay is not high enough to redeem its shallow plot and repetitive puzzles.
-
Oct 18, 2011Although it has a good and interesting multiplayer, the main single-player adventure is not that interesting, and its gameplay is too limited.
-
Jul 5, 2011Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident's by-the-numbers mixture of archaic adventure mechanics and boring hidden object puzzles will not satisfy a vast majority of gamers, and its insanely low-resolution graphics and limited soundtrack won't appeal to the eyes or the ears.
-
Jul 13, 2011The game quickly begins to feel like a chore. And it's no mystery - chores are exactly what most casual gamers are trying to avoid.
-
Jul 4, 2011The setting is inviting and the puzzles are solid, but unless you're a devoted series diehard, desperately seeking something new for your Wii, or have friends to join you in multiplayer, I suggest you consider leaving Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident to gather dust on the store shelf.
