Mario Sports Mix it's not the best party game for the Nintendo Wii, but Square Enix managed to put together a decent number of sports that will surely entertain you and your friends.

The individual sports woven into this collection may not be quite as fleshed-out as you'd expect from standalone games, but there's enough depth and variety to merit some marathon rounds alone or with friends. It's easy to get sucked into a quick game or two and wind up blowing through hours of matches.

While Mario Sports Mix may lack the depth of Mario Tennis and Golf, it's a great example of a more casual Mario title that multiple players can enjoy. Not all the disciplines on offer will be to everyone's taste, but there's enough good stuff here to last you a fair while and Square Enix have given it oodles of imagination.

This game is worthy of a spot alongside Mario's best sports titles. [Feb 2011, p.82]

Mario Sports Mix isn't the kind of game that one would play for long stints, but it is much more interesting than, let's say, Wii Party. If you're caught (for some odd and unbelievable reason) in the middle between the two, go with Sports Mix.

Mario Sports Mix is nothing revolutionary, but in keeping with its franchise brethren, it does provide ample multiplayer entertainment should you happen to have a couple of friends willing to participate.

Despite the faults the individual events have, winning the Star Cup in all four sports unlocks a bonus cameo that almost makes all of the earlier tedium worth it.

A good mix between gameplay and online matches. Despite the poor AI and a short single player mode, this is definitely best served with friends.

Mario Sports Mix had the opportunity to be a great sports games collection on the Nintendo Wii, but there are only four games included and there is no commentator – a great flaw, as comments on your performance usually enhance the fun. Then again, the multiplayer mode, easiness, and beginner friendliness make the game quite entertaining.

Great multi-player game for fans of Mario games in general. Just don't play it alone, or else you will be bored out of your mind. Also,Great multi-player game for fans of Mario games in general.
