It may just be that I'm crazy for baseball but I really like this game. I agree there are weird bugs and glitches in the gameplay and the batting with the six boxes really sucks but the defense plays smoothly and it just plays like a baseball game.

While I was pleased to see trading cards introduced in 2K9 and I think that making batting tougher was the right thing to do despite the fact that it makes the game tougher to pick up and dive right into, I was disappointed that two aspects of the game that needed to be addressed in a glaring way were left untouched – graphics and online play.

Despite my disappointment with its lack of progress, MLB 2K9 is a solid game of baseball. [Apr 2009, p.85]
  3. MLB 2K9 for the Wii is still a flawed distortion of baseball, but it's definitely a better bet than its Xbox 360 and PS3 cousins.
