This game looked so promising at first for the interesting gunplay mechanics and the idea that you could pretty much use everything as a weapon. None of the game works. The gunplay is actually generic, a failure, and is never a challenge. The combat system is hard because it barely works and is hard to control. There is even a multiplayer mode where Indiana Jones and hi father have to work together in a completely separate adventure which, too, isn't fun at all. The vehicles are hard to control and the game is so generic it is nearing the unplayable line. The game doesn't even have the Indiana Jones charm. The only thing fun about this game is that it includes the classic Indiana Jones Atlantis game that still stands out among other games (like this one). Its a shame, but be warned that game is generic, hard to control, and repetitive. Expand

    This game is mediocre in everything from graphics to gameplay. It is difficult to play because it is not easy to use the motion controls to attack. Some parts also require you to use objects in your surroundings to fight and it is difficult to do just that.

    I'm about half way through, and had to stop playing. The game is plagued by irritating controls and glitches. Some of the game is extremely entertaining, such as the brawling and the shoot outs. What's left though is a tedius trek through a world made up of invisible ledges and impassible waist high boulders. I don't know what scores mean, the real test was wanting to play through the game, and it delivers on that front. Visually it was fun to look at, with great locations that really deliver the Indy spirit home. Environmental fighting was great fun, and the motion controls worked suprisingly well (just don't expect hooks to work until you get the hang of it). Great rental play-through for single-player, co-op is pretty meh as it removes the fighting and replaces cinematic cut-scenes with comic-book styled drawings. Expand

    This game is definitely worth buying for Indy fans, but an average experience for people looking for a fun adventure game. The fighting system is fun and uses the Wii controls to their fullest. The fighting system is fun and uses the Wii controls to their fullest. Indy has three different punches and can whip enemies and objects and also can pick up and throw or whack enemies with objects. Controls were annoying mainly for one action sequence (the airplane sequence). Puzzles are fairly simple (such as moving a block over a pressure plate) but become more interesting as the game progresses (such as moving various blocks, whipping objects and using environmental objects in various combinations). The game story is original, but similar to the Indy movies of the past, complete with the Nazi nuisance and the femme fatale. Graphics are decent, middle-of-the road, but nothing compared to the graphics of Mass Effect or Modern Warfare for the 360. Music is like those from the movies. Voice acting sounds like Harrison Ford; not sure if it is him or a sound-alike. The game comes with a port of a classic Indy game, Fate of Atlantis, which came out 17 years ago and is still fairly fun if you can forgive the poor graphics. I experienced some glitches in which the game froze completely and when I should have died but the game continued. Expand

    great game. Graphics looks a little too blurry at times, but the controls are solid and the game like's to throw different things at you like holding the wiimote like a joystick to fly a plane. Game's a lot of fun to play. Haven't tried MP yet, but it looks to be fun. Oh yeah Indiana Jones: The Fate of Atlantis is included for FREE in this game. That alone makes this a great game. this is such a let-down for an "Indiana Jones" title. follow-up "Infernal Machine" and "Emperor's Tomb" two excellent Indiana Jones games, we get a "whimper" for a third-game, after the announcement for "next-gen" Indy game way back in 2006 i was very excited but then a year later it got cancelled for a Star Wars game, because of the upcoming 2008 movie at the time, they had to releasethis is such a let-down for an "Indiana Jones" title. follow-up "Infernal Machine" and "Emperor's Tomb" two excellent Indiana Jones games, we get a "whimper" for a third-game, after the announcement for "next-gen" Indy game way back in 2006 i was very excited but then a year later it got cancelled for a Star Wars game, because of the upcoming 2008 movie at the time, they had to release something to fill the void, so we got an almost a budget indiana jones title for wii, and it has a lot of cons then pros.

    let start with the pros:
    the --story line-- is ok nothing special, very straight forward adventure story, --graphics-- are not terrible, sure the models and textures feels very PS2 in some areas, the --light gun sections-- work very well with the wii, it has some nice --extras-- exclusive for the wii which also includes probably the best thing about the wii version (and the only reason to ever buy this game) is to unlock the full-game of the award-winning point-and-click classic "indiana jones and the fate of atlantis" for the first time on console and it's a 10 out 10 score, the team did an excellent job with this game on the wii, but the problem is this classic is buried under a very poor game.

    cons:
    WHERE DO I BEGAN, first there's the --audio and graphical glitches--, some characters speak then suddenly it loops or studders, the game --froze-- on me 3 time, sometime the --AI is brain-dead--, there is --no death animations-- just jumps straight to the loading screen to the last check-point even if i jump off the cliff to somewhere i wasn't suppose to go it goes back to the loading screen very odd, the --FORCED motion-controls!--, it took me few hour just to get used to how clumsy these motions consoles where implemented, --cannot skip cut-scenes-- especially on the never-ending tutorial, --bland level design--, --generic bad guys--, the game itself is --very short-- it took me less then 4 hours to beat it, the music itself feel --very unprofessional-- i'm almost positive they just ripped John Williams "Raiders of the Lost Ark" score and used his base for a soundtrack. cause the entire music feels straight from "Raiders" and not original score which is embarrassingly lazy considering the previous titles where original scores inspired by Williams. overall the game feels very rushed. it's clearly not finished and lacking any passion or effort more like a cash-grab to the 4th indiana jones film. such a shame!

    The story here is entertaining, and a fun globetrotter. The motion controls work to say the least, though there is a lot to be desired.
    The real meat of this game lies in it's bonus content. The multiplayer coop and death match aren't the best in the world, but they are definitely enjoyable, and I'd recommend to the coop to anyone, assuming they already own it. It's not much, but it's

    But there's something else. You can unlock Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis for MSDOS, through the SCUMMVM engine. I would've written a review on it's page, but it doesn't exist so I'm writing it here. I would consider Fate of Atlantis to be one of the best point and click adventure games of all time, and is worth it not only for Indy fans, but for anyone interested in p&c/a games. I'd say the Wii version isn't the best way to play, but it isn't bad. Using the wiimote in place of a mouse and keyboard works, but isn't preferable in a lot of cases. There are also somethings you just can't do, but they aren't things required to beat or enjoy the game to it's fullest, they're mostly just different things you can do in combat.
    If it weren't for TFoA, this game would have a much lower score, but it really ties this whole package together.

    Despite being a fan, I found this one kinda underwhelming not gonna lie.

    I mean where do i even begin with this one!

    The story is basically Raiders of the Lost Ark all over again but with some tweaks to fit the games narrative.

    Ultimately enjoyable, with some nice gameplay variety and good sound-alike voice acting. [July 2009, p.85]

    Still, it's an enjoyable way to waste away the weekend, especially for casual Wii owners who are looking for a challenge; hardcore gamers, on the other hand, will scoff at the games' puzzles' but as long as you don't go in expecting the second coming of The Last Crusade, you'll be fine. [July 2009, p.80]
  3. Only approach this game if you intend to play Fate of Atlantis. Staff of Kings hardly finds the Indiana Jones pulse.
