    Barely functioning controls, cheesy gameplay and an unrewarding experience all add up to an inexcusable attempt to cash in on an apparently untapped market.

    Hockey Allstar Shootout is a weird release because it is completely backward from the WiiWare norm. Usually, you get an ugly game with fun controls, but this title brings to the table exactly the opposite -- specifically, a well-designed presentation and a speedy, polished user interface, but inoperable gameplay controls.
